The hotel, like all other hotels in the town, looks nice outside. But very basic and small room. Just like a motel room. Underground parking is good. It is on Banff Ave so it is expensive. But if you drive, you can find better hotel with same price in town than this one.
No air conditioning except hallways, small window facing courtyard so no breeze through that. Shower head is about 5.5 feet high. Feels like an old super 8 hotel. Hot tub nice is though. Rooms can adjust heet but not cooling. I found the beds uncomfortable
Beware of The Banff Caribou Lodge, if your expecting a resort you will be sorely disappointed. There is NO AC in any of the rooms yet there is in the hallways and common areas.🤷🏻♂️ They close the hot tub room from prime time 1-2:00 PM 🙌🏽 No towels or soap in the showers We will never be back
No, this property does not have air conditioned rooms. The corridors are air conditioned, but don’t be fooled. The rooms are not. There is a fan below the coffee maker that helps a bit. But it is hot in summer. The breakfast was just ok. Nothing special. Much better places to stay
The hotel is charming and comfortable. It is only when we decided to have dinner in the hotel at the Keg. The person in charge was rude and argumentative. We were asked to wait for 10 minutes in the reception for the table. We were refused to have a drink at the bar while we are waiting because the bar was full. The bar was not, it was half empty. There were at least 8 tables ready for clients but the young lady decided to make people wait in the reception. Bizarre really.
Very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The decor was very well suited to a mountain lodge. I felt pampered with the Rocky Mountain soap collection in our room. On site dining included the Keg which provided an excellent prime rib dinner and breakfast buffet. My only disappointment was the lack of AC in the room. However, a fan was provided to make sleeping a bit more comfortable.
this hotel does NOT have airconditioning. we were there for 2 nights, July 31 and August 1, 2022 and we were miserable. those must have been the hottest days of the season, possibly a heatwave. it felt like we were in a sauna, we had a small crack of a window that we left opened all through the night, but that did not help any. it felt like there was no ventilation. they provided a small vornado fan, that was so loud, I was deaf when I woke up. For seniors like us, this is not a place to stay. our agent booked us this hotel without telling us this place did not have aircon. we would have booked somewhere else.
It was horrific experience. No air conditioning when it's 92 F outside, makes it torture to sleep or stay in the room here. We were forced to keep our door wide open for several hours so that cool air enters the room... so ridiculous it's unbelievable... So inconsiderate to people with health conditions. Rooms are tiny, claustrophobic, dark and windows are super small, reminds me of staff room on the lowest level of the cruise ship... It smells like sweat mixed with farts here. In the parking garage, strong scent of chlorine and lots of exposed pipes, who knows what's dripping from these pipes... Hotel is old and desperately needs renovations. All that for a $400 USD per night!!! Lovely... I will never return to this place again... ruined trip...
There’s no air con and our box room is like an oven - called reception only to be told we have provided a fan and you can open the window, it’s 28 outside at 10pm so not a lot of good. He did advise very helpfully that the hotel next door has air con. TV is so old there’s no smart facilities as in no Netflix or any other streaming service. I’d have got over that but the control doesn’t work either so if you want to change channel you have to get up stand next to the TV and then use the control. Not that there’s much point as there is also no way of bringing up a TV guide. Looking forward to a relaxing evening catching up on some TV after a great day hiking. Think again - In our sweat box. Banff is amazing and I’m got going to let paying premium prices for budget accommodation mar my holiday- but if you are planning on visiting anytime soon (in summer) book next door…
Stayed here a couple of nights after coming off the Rocky Mountaineer. Centrally located and on a regular free bus route. Room are nicely appointed. We found the room very stuffy and it was only after a restless night that we found that the air conditioning in the hotel was turned off. By opening the window we got a bit of air circulation on the second night. We only ate breakfast one morning in the Keg restaurant which was not great. They had run out of tea citing that they had too many British guests in who had drunk all their tea. Buffet breakfast was not very extensive and never fully stocked .
