This is my second time staying at hidden ridge resort with my family and we will most likely be coming back. Special mention to hotel staff Amelia for helping me with the mess-up with a 2nd party app that I used to book this resort with. It was clearly the 2nd party's fault but Amelia and the hidden ridge staff did their best to help me fix the issue. I will forever remember the kindness I have received. Next time, I recommend booking directly from their website because that's what I did the first time and it went smoothly. We enjoyed our stay, the pool is nice and warm with a nice scenic background. I will give this hotel 10 stars if I could. Thank you again Amelia!
A very nice place to stay a few nights in the summer. The pool is also recommended. The rooms are not very big, but perfect since you spend the most of your time outside. Nice and complete kitchen, a fireplace and couch, table and chairs. Als a patio with some chairs if you prefer sitting outside. There are a lot of (gas) bbq’s and picknick tables available and next to the lodge is a shuttle stop to bring you downtown.
We booked a two bedroom with a loft and game room. It seems as if the unit we stayed in had recently been updated a bit, new carpet and sofas. The pullout in the "game room" seemed new, the bed itself was quite small and rock hard. My adult children stayed there and we all agreed that bed in only fit for small children. The "game room" itself is just a (cold) basement with a foosball table, pull out sofa, two bar stools and a worn out chair. There is also a TV and a Nintendo WII (but not games or controller, so I am not sure what the point of having it there was). The other 3 beds seemed newer and comfortable. The loft got VERY HOT (it was the end of July) and the condo does not have any AC. We did use the fans they provided and opened all the windows at night, still it was HOT. The resort pools were nice, but very crowded. We also took advantage of the bus passes they provided and unlike a lot of people we never had any problems finding parking close to our unit. It would be nice if the units had luggage racks since they do not have dressers, just night tables with drawers. The bathrooms were a good size and did have counter space. They did have laundry in the front office as well as ice and vending machines, but no other food was available. We would recommend this resort, especially for families.…
We stayed in unit 204 for 3 nights in June 2022. This unit is in one of the older buildings that are along the ridge. The place was very tired. Filthy carpets, couch and walls. The pool and hot tub have a very nice view and our kids enjoyed having their own beds to sleep in rather than share a pullout like they had done the previous days we spent in Jasper. Would not stay here again unless there in a major refresh.
I have borrowed the title from a previous contributor as it sums up the place so well. We booked through Trailfinders and expected some level of quality and oh boy were we disappointed. Reception was fresh and the staff on the ball. The room was a basement flat. All was dark and gloomy with decades of dirt - old fluorescent light bulbs and a brown theme throughout. It may once have been cream but decades of dirt made it brown. Stains up all the walls cobwebs on the ceiling and toe nails on the floor. The bed smelt fusty. It felt like a 1980's student flat and a friend confirmed that when they worked for this company they got a perk of a night in the basement flats and enjoyed hours of playing beer pong and I certianly can believe them. We endured one night and told recpetion we would not stay any longer. They then without hesitation offered us a "better flat". It was light the bed was not fusty and so we took it as faced with moving to another hotel at peak season was very a very expensive alternative. The accommodation that we had was desperately unmaintined, outdated, and really needs knocking down and rebuilding.…
Hidden Ridge is an excellent choice in Banff if you like a more remote location, spacious units and great facilities. Though a 5 minute drive up Tunnel Mountain from Banff Avenue, it is a lovely quiet spot with amazing views of Rundle, Cascade and Sulpher Mountains. We were in a 1 bedroom + loft & 2 bathroom suite with balcony, which had great mountain views. We enjoyed the room to spread out, the full kitchen and fireplace as well. Beds were very comfortable, and the room well sound proofed. The only thing we could hear from outside were trains which you can hear from most locations in Banff. The pool area is stunning - with a hot tub, warm pool and sauna. Views from here are also beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful - and I also enjoyed the reasonably priced mountain bike rental. There are some great trails right out of the property. My only qualm is with price of accommodation, which as in many other parts of Banff is getting completely out of control in the warmer months. This is something that needs to be addressed if relative locals are going to be able to afford to visit our mountain resorts.…
While the website shows updated room(s), the one bedroom plus loft that we stayed in was very dirty (kids' handprints coated the sliding balcony doors inside and out, and layer of dust throughout), the couch was unusable (sunken to the floor), sliding door lock broken, coffee maker did not work properly (wrong pot for the machine?), lamps were broken and crooked, and is in dire need of an overall cleaning and update.
Booked through Airbnb it was 1300/night and was the biggest rip off of all time- this place is dated it’s very crowded. No coffee filters, ripped furniture, no water bottles offered. Not enough pillows/blankets, game room game was broken- and partying till 4 in the morning no one got any sleep. I will say the front desk staff was helpful with my noise complaints and trying to make it right but for the price you pay you would expect a luxury experience- not the greatest for large families as design does not allow for gathering of groups. Definitely needs an upgrade and a huge price reduction!!
We’ve stayed here before and we’re happy with experience. The location is great, being in the woods yet 2-3 minutes from downtown! The jacuzzis were clean , but not very hot. My wife likes the fireplaces and candidly the free firewood. As suggestion would be to clean the fireplace chimneys as there is smoke backlash with floot wide open. The sitting area furniture needs an upgrade. The couch is pathetic and kills the idea of sitting in front of a fire! The good news is that I was told they are replacing the couches!!!!! I’d most likely stay here again as long as price point is competitive…
My fiancée and I stayed here as a treat and it did not disappoint! A wonderful, quiet location with stunning views. Staff were helpful and friendly and they had board games available which was good fun! The pool was lovely, great way to wake up! My only comments would be the room is a bit outdated but it has so much space and the amenities all work fine so not really an issue for us. Also would be nice to have a blanket for the cold evenings but again not a major problem. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. A wonderful place to stay.
