Its not bad - the rooms are renovated and stay cooler the family suites dont have AC. They do not have a hot tub and their tiny pool is a joke and nasty. I like the area being away from the crazy of main street with my kids is important and their is bussing downtown.
We stayed for 5 nights at the start of our honeymoon. We knew it was 3* but the temperature of the room was unacceptable. No air-con just a single fan so we had to open the freezer and blast the fan in and freeze water in a bowl to cool it down every time we came back. Also had to open the front door for a while to let the air through - not ideal on your honeymoon! We realised our floor was above the laundry room, sauna and steam and that’s why it was so stifling hot as temp was only mid-high 70s! We did complain but were told they were at full capacity and all they could do was turn the sauna/steam off. We came from a heatwave in the UK and had zero sleep the two nights before we travelled, but I didn’t get one single good night’s sleep whilst there 😟! Weddings are stressful and I needed my sleep. It’s probably a great place to stay in winter with the open fire but not in summer in my opinion and the decor is a bit tired and it felt dark and dingy. Tried to use the gym but it was really dirty with broken equipment. Nowhere to relax outside, no shop selling essentials - only vending machines so you need to make sure you get supplies on the way. Close enough to Banff town but we arrived late (10pm) after 2 flights 16hrs so were starving. Banff is so lovely but very very busy in July so expect queues everywhere and tourist prices. Musts are Lakes Louise/Moraine/Emerald (use shuttle unless you want to get there at 4-5am to park), white water rafting, gondola and e-bike tour and lots of nice walks along the Bow River.…
We loved our stay here. It was very quiet. We lucked out and got the family loft over the office. It was awesome!! the view was fantastic and we had plenty of space. It was nice to be a little ways out of town. We never had problems with parking when we needed to go into town but sometimes we had to pay ($3 an hour) Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in a room with 2 beds which was very clean and had a small kitchenette. We found it perfect for our trip. The staff was extremely helpful. Free bus passes were good and the walk to town was short. We were also able to walk to hiking trails (and the Hoodoos) from the hotel. We had to use the washer/dryer which were old and small, but worked. The parking lot was a bit chaotic. This was due to people parking too big of vehicles in too small of spaces, but we always found a spot. The view from our balcony was fantastic. We would stay here again. It was nice not being in town where it was busy and probably nosier. Good value for the money. Blackout curtains were great because it was light later than we were used to.
We recently stayed at Tunnel Mountain for 6 nights and had an overall good stay. The good - We enjoyed the location being slightly away from downtown Banff and close enough for a long walk or very convenient bus ride (free bus passes available at the front desk). Staff was very helpful an accommodating. The cabin/loft rooms were large enough to be comfortable for our family of 5 that allowed the opportunity for each of our adult/teenage children to have their own comfortable bed (even the pullout sofa felt comfy) with 1.5 bathrooms as well. Ability to have a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and oven was all a plus. Bikes were available for rent up front, if desired, as well as a small library and board games. The negative - The parking lot is a bit of a mess and very tight. Parking spaces are extremely close to the rooms which made for some very noisy late evening arrivals who made a lot of noise. The late sunset in Banff facilitates a great deal of noise and congregating on weekends with large groups who may not be respectful of quiet hours as the congregate in the parking lot. Since it was rather warm and there is no A/C in the rooms, your only choice is to leave the windows open and hope that people quiet down (which was generally a challenge). The hotel across the street had a wedding reception that went until midnight with very loud music as well. The staff did what they could to help keeps things quiet after 11:00 pm on the property, however, the hotel across the street was out of their control. If you were trying to get to bed earlier than 11:00 pm most nights for an early morning sightseeing excursion, noise was definitely a factor here with or without windows open. Things did seem to improve mid-week as larger groups left.... While this is called a "resort" I would keep expectations limited. The rooms were well kept, however, perhaps a little worn and dated. The parking lot layout was very cramped which can impact the enjoyment of the stay. The fitness center, steam room, sauna, and hot tub (closed at the time and very dated) was in a really odd location in another building that was challenging to locate initially. The laundry room was also not very convenient and limited by the number of actual working machines. Mixed emotion if I would return to this location. There are likely better places to stay for couples and smaller families, however, it did facilitate our family of 5 adults pretty well overall.…
First off I would like to say that the staff is very friendly knowledgeable and welcoming. We stayed in a 1 bedroom with king loft. Place is located minutes to downtown. Resort is nice they have a swimming pool sauna steam room and gym. There is a laundry room that has two washers and two dryers. Beds are nice and comfortable. Couch is also a pull out bed. They have free firewood at the wood shed and you can get kindling and matches at the front desk.
Nice cottages available for families looking for options just outside Banff. 10-15 min to Banff centre on foot, also bus stop just outside the resort that takes you to city centre. A bit old and somewhat worn down, but still a great place and super service in the reception.
We were able to check in early. That was a big plus for us weary travelers. Customer service was excellent throughout stay. Cabin was clean and spacious for 5 of us. Black out curtains need improvement because light can still be seen through it and im sensitive to it especially when trying to sleep during summer solstice. Enjoyed steam sauna and happy they had laundry facilities. Resort was close to town and parking was ample for cabin but might be tight for other rooms. Bus stop to town was right in front and tickets were free. Would stay here again but would think twice because it is expensive.
We enjoyed a 4 night stop at this hotel, we found the room with a split between the bed room and lounge by the kitchen and bathroom excellent, kitchen facilities were very good and when I asked them to change a rather worn frying pan it was done in under 5 minutes. The location is a 5 minute drive outside of Banff half way up Tunnel Mountain There is a free shuttle bus service outside evert 30 minutes
Easy access, good parking. We were upgraded to a suite which was great. Beds comfortable, good wifi, tv ok. Very clean and organized . Staff friendly and helpful but remind them if u have a food credit due, restaurants within walking distance. Except for the, price it was a good stay.
