Detailed Reviews
Our car broke down in Arthurs Pass, upon getting it towed to Springfield we scrambled to book accommodation. Amber was the first person I spoke to and was nothing short of amazing!! She was very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable all throughout our stay. The hospitality alone was enough to make me want to come back here. Clean rooms & lovely spa for guest use. 11/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant place to rest!

We enjoyed our stay here for 2 nights while visiting Castle Hill. A fully equipped kitchen, powerful shower and comfortable bed. Free wifi and homely feel. Parking right outside and sweet cat. The feeling was we could have asked our host anything and she would be happy to help

Amber is a superb host and we loved our little motel. It was completely self-contained with cooking equipment, a dishwasher, separate bedroom, laundry facilities available and so much more. Location is perfect for easy return to Christchurch and, for us, access to Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass. Great value for money and nothing was too much trouble.
Wifi is free and stable but not strong. Queen bed was so comfortable. Totally loved it and would return in a heartbeat.

This place is amazing. Amber is a great host. The rooms are lovely. The showers are great. The kitchen/lounge is fantastic with a toasty fire. Stay here. It also has a fab spa pool, and great views of the mountains. I highly recommend this place.

We stayed as a family of 4 for two nights. What a great find the Springfield Motel & Lodge turned out to be. Everything about the place was great and our double remove was way better than we had expected. Great place to stop off in on your way to Arthur's Pass. Highly recommended.

If you are travelling from the Franz Joseph in the west of South Island over Arthur's Pass on the East side then do not miss this motel!! Springfield is a small community With in the middle the Springfield Motel & Lodge. This is a modern motel with extremely pleasant owners! Our room had parking outside. Inside the room was modern, very well decorated and very clean . The bathroom was very modern with a new shower and sink unit. The kitchen area was a little small but It did the job with a full size fridge and for once a new large kettle!! Bed was really comfortable. Wifi was unlimited, excellent signal and very fast - not often found in motels!
This motel is a real find so do not miss it out when planning your journey! If ski season I would highly recommend you book well in advance as this motel accommodation will go fast!

We arrived after a long drive from Wellington to a very friendly welcome (did you need any milk? Always music to my ears) and a lovely, simple room with fridge, toaster, kettle and all you need for a nights stay (there's even an electric blanket - not vital in January, but I guess more so in the winter). This was less than half the cost of a night in the City in a chain, and here in Springfield we got free wifi too! If you are on the road in this area, it's a beautiful and welcoming spot to land at. Note, Springfield is a bit quite with only minimal restaurant availability and none at the Motel, so be prepared and do not let this put you off staying here!

This was a convenient overnight stop for us but it was lovely. Our host couldn't have been more helpful. I was able to do my laundry and freshen up our clothes. We had a room with balcony which was perfect in the evening sunshine. Room was fresh and clean and well equipped.
Not a great deal of choice in the town for eating out but there is a pub and a couple of cafes - if open in the evening.

We stayed at this property in November 2018 for only one night, it was beautiful, so clean and plenty of room and easy walking distance to everything. Not far on the main street is a couple of take away places but we had our evening meal at the Pub which was great.
