Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our car broke down in Arthurs Pass, upon getting it towed to Springfield we scrambled to book accommodation. Amber was the first person I spoke to and was nothing short of amazing!! She was very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable all throughout our stay. The hospitality alone was enough to make me want to come back here. Clean rooms & lovely spa for guest use. 11/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant place to rest!

We enjoyed our stay here for 2 nights while visiting Castle Hill. A fully equipped kitchen, powerful shower and comfortable bed. Free wifi and homely feel. Parking right outside and sweet cat. The feeling was we could have asked our host anything and she would be happy to help

Amber is a superb host and we loved our little motel. It was completely self-contained with cooking equipment, a dishwasher, separate bedroom, laundry facilities available and so much more. Location is perfect for easy return to Christchurch and, for us, access to Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass. Great value for money and nothing was too much trouble. Wifi is free and stable but not strong. Queen bed was so comfortable. Totally loved it and would return in a heartbeat.

Stopped here on the way to Christchurch. Stayed in the lodge and used the shared facilities. Small cosy room with double glazing and an electric blanket on the bed. The lodge had everything I needed including a well equiped kitchen, modern bathrooms and washing machine/dryer. The guest lounge was comfortable with a great view of the mountains. If you're passing through Springfield don't forget to grab a pic of the doughnut down the road in the kids playgrpund!

Stayed here 1 night only. It was a lovely studio room. Had a small kitchen which we didn't use. Looked to be more complete than I would expect for a studio. Lovely bathroom. Heat pump. Double glazed windows.

We spent 5 nights here on our recent trip to the South Island. The accommodations range from fully equipped rooms with private en suite baths to hiker's quarters. All of the amenities are modern, the rooms are impeccably clean, and the owner Amber, could not be more helpful and accommodating to your needs. The WiFi is good, and they have a laundry room for guests as well. The location is central to anything you are interested in doing in the Christchurch/Canterbury area. You are only 40 minutes from Aurther's Pass or the airport. This is by far, the best accommodation in the area. There is one pub and a couple of cafes in town with good food, but hours can vary depending on how busy they are. Don't count on them as your only resource for dining out...There are more choices in nearby Darfield just a few minutes up the road.

This place is newly built and family run. Amber was friendly and helpful. The location is close to Christchurch and to Arthur's Pass, great pub and cafe in town. I wish all our accommodations were so nice.

This was a convenient overnight stop for us but it was lovely. Our host couldn't have been more helpful. I was able to do my laundry and freshen up our clothes. We had a room with balcony which was perfect in the evening sunshine. Room was fresh and clean and well equipped. Not a great deal of choice in the town for eating out but there is a pub and a couple of cafes - if open in the evening.
