Just finished my experience with RIU Vallarta. Where should I start, first most of the staff at are not welcoming with the exception of David in the lobby area and the waiting staff at the Buffet restaurant. The food at the theme restaurant are not very good, if you like eating

JoLeen gave a good answer. Now a little more. First, it depends if the room that you want to upgrade to is available. Second it depends if you are a Gold or Diamond member of RIU. (We usually get bumps automatically. I don't believe that you have that status or you wouldn't be asking.) Third The cost varies as does the price of any room depending on the season. Check the price of your room, check the price of the room that you hope for and get the difference. That is perhaps what the upgrade would cost. Fourth. Make arrangements with either your agent or the hotel for the upgrade as well in advance as possible. Fifth You might get it, you might not.

What would be the best way to get to the hotel from airport?? Uber? Taxi? And how much did u pay?
Best is to just be a taxi. 20 min. Ride. Avoid the Time share sharks, move out to the Taxi booths and get ticket. Rates are Set, as per Zone. See the Top Questions on Forum page. About $20 Going for Uber ,means a hit walk overpass,, just to save a few dollars, when you can be in air conditioning taxi and on the road.. Return a little less $. Good resort Enjoy
