After a 30 minute ride from airport check in was easy and bags quickly in room. We booked family room with a separate second room with two twins.
Room good size. The shower was large, water pressure fair, and hot water warm. Closet space excellent. AC was very good. King bed was firm with bedding in very good condition. The in room coffee machine worked but was frankly the worst coffee possible and there is no coffee availability in village until after 7:30 AM. This needs to be corrected
Restaurants. There is really only one restaurant and a snack bar with limited hours. The food is fresh and healthy with a strong Mexican influence. If you like tacos and sopas you will be happy. All meals are buffet except the second restaurant opens in the night for a sit down Ala carte. It requires waiting in a long line at 12:15 to try to get reservations. We never got one so I can’t comment on food.
Kids club Many children and it seemed to me the staff did a great job scheduling a range of activities. I would say a strong point of this club.
Sports The sailing with Hobie cats in good condition was very good once you got past the sign warning of crocodiles and poisonous snakes. A great team and place to learn. The kayaking was also fun. The exercise palapa was small and tight for yoga, Zumba, and weight training. The yoga mats are gross and need replacement.
Excursions The kayak trip to the island, a two hour affair on Thursday evening seemed popular. Again requires reservation thatAM in limited window.
The location is beautiful with great view of sunsets from dining area.
For price point as always Club med a great value. Good fun, nice guests, helpful Staff. Highly recommended for family holiday.

We first went to Club Mex Ixtapa in January 2023, and went back this year, Jan 2-12th We took a cab from the airport, 25' and 750 pesos I think. Check in at the club was 5' only , nice and easy
FOOD: We have had better, but the choice was big, so we found something we lied evry day. Products were fresh, we ate too much and never go sick . I recommend bringinmg a thermos bottle to take some pop or juice from the restaurant to your room, if you like to have beverages in your room Water bottles are offered in the room, it was enough for us.No snacks in the rooms, but you have access to food from 7am to 11pm I think, so there is really no need for more. Rooms are clean and comfy, we slept very well. We rented bikes, I would recommed to bring a helmet liner. Trek bikes are not great, but good enough to enjoy the great bike path around the Club leading to Ixtapa, 25' ride through a natural reserve. Salomon and his fun borther took good acre of us, they took us on a guided tour the first day, so we could ride on our own the following times. We used the laundry service a few times, the items were returned within a few hours, cleaned, pressed, neatly folded! Bars: we tried every bar at every hour ( do not judge, we were on vacation after all). Yes, we sometimes had to wait 5' for a drink, but we didnt care, we were chatting up other people in the line up or gazing at the beach, with nothing better to do anyway. We ordered local cocktails and they were perfect! Long line, order 2 drinks at once
Activities: do not go to Club Med if all you want is sleep on the beach. Club Med is about connections. Participate. Take the group lessons, join in for tournaments, dance the crazy signs, talk to people around you. Once they know you, the GOs will always call you by your name when they see you around. I played tennis tournaments with Jorge and players way better than me, no one made fun or complained of my level. I learned pickle ball with Dylan, we made tons of friends ( lots of Canadians, mainly from Quebec) The club is clean , you will not see a piece of trash anywhere on the property, beach is huge and almost private, all sand, no rocks, no seaweed, no jelly fish, all soft sand. And SAFE!! The Spa: OMG. I never went to a spa while travelling before, decide to treat myself to 1 treatment, we went 6 times! Amazing team, Denis at the helm, Salma and Africa at the door, Clara for reflexology, Marychoui and inzxel for massages, I highly recommend

This was our third time at club med ixtapa - and our family loves it so much each and every time. A perfect, beautiful, well kept, clean beach. The site is fantastic. I love how small it is as a resort - it makes it easy and safe for my kids (ages 8 and 10) to walk around freely. and the GOs......... CONSINSTENTLY, they are incredible. Their enthusiasm, seemingly endless amount of energy, work ethic and positivity - are really unmatched. They work so hard, but make it look so easy - and always have time for us and our family. They are all incredibly awesome, but of course will give some extra special shoutouts: Paolo, Franco, Dylan, Jorge, Luna, Izzy, Yuki, Pablo, Holly, Chucho, Ceci...... and the list goes on! One clear area of improvement (and the reason for the reduction of one star) is the hotel management aspect of the resort. For example, we arrived to our room and the ceiling had water pouring out. we called the front desk - a friendly person immediately took our call and told us they would call maintenance and then let us know. maintenance person came fairly quickly and told me it was the air conditioner and did some work on the room. they left a giant dusty mess of the washroom - and no one got back to us to confirm whether or not it had been fixed. it seemed ok. two days later same thing happened. called reception and a friendly person told us they would send maintenance and took our number so that they could be in touch to let us know what was going on. came back to the room an hour or two later- dusty mess again - and seemingly problem fixed, but no one called us. we called reception and they told us we should move rooms and our new room was ready. new room had a lock that didn't work and a safe that didn't lock. reported these issues - everyone took our number and assured us follow up - but not clear that anything was ever done. Our family even mentioned this to the chef de village, who took information, pointed us to the right person who said they would look into everything..... and then........ nothing. just a bit of a miss - and feels like should be a relatively easy fix in terms of enhancing client communication, especially so that we don't feel like we need to chase people down. Overall - this place is still great and has a very special energy - just feels like when paying a premium to be at a resort like this - should focus on these aspects.

I gave it another try. (8 times already)We had a family deluxe room with balcony 5017. The room is very outdated, shower broke down, we had to be careful all the time because the knob was falling even after it was fixed. Room was clean but nothing like it was 9 years ago , when the room was cleaned again at night and you had towels and chocolates near your bedside Restaurant… i love Mexican food , i had the best 7 days but if you don’t ,you will be very disappointed. We had to wait for fish , the only one kind you will get during your stay. The choice of food is very limited. No service at all, in the morning i had to beg for coffee and i will get 2 cups because there would be no refill . Food for breakfast was good, best bread ever… Wine was bad and you need to look for a waiter to get it. I had proseco . The only fruits we had : watermelon, melon , apples, and papaya not even pineapple… No fresh juice unless you like vegetables juice in the morning. No glass glasses for water at the diner , we had plastic glasses , and we had to ask for water all the time. White night was not good, big line and no food, they will have empty containers and you will have to wait for refill. Restaurant at the beach had a very good service and food was very delicious. We only watch one show because : Trapeze show was so bad , I remember when Brazilians were better than cirque du soleil. Beach is beautiful and weather was nice. We enjoyed swimming and doing water sports. Last year there was a crocodile attack and unfortunately man passed away. I did see more lifeguards on the beach. I think there is something wrong between Chief of the village and GO. No one said Hi to me or sit at the table with us I usually love to be friends with GO. I had so much fun at Zumba with Stephanie! She was the best! We enjoyed painting ceramics. Highly recommend. I would say 75 percent were Mexican tourists. They can get a very cheap day pass to enjoy all day AI. Christmas decorations were very simple , we left on December 24 so I can’t comment on the dinner. Will I come back? Maybe if the price is right. I knew where i was going. It is 3 star hotel and very good for families with kids.

The quality of the food goes down more and more with less flavor and less variety. The rooms are already super old with maintenance problems everywhere. The sports schedules are terrible: there are more hours that they are closed than open. The bars nearby on the beach they close at happy hour and the quality of the drinks is also low. They lock the bracelets before 11am and you cannot enter your room or open the safe. The shows at night are nothing special. The prices They are high for the quality of what they offer, better look for other options

First the good: the beach is top-notch. Large, semi-private, swimmable, variability in wave action as you walk across the beach from smaller to larger. And, the main restaurant has an exceptionally nice perch on the hill overlooking the beach. And, the pricing is “good value”. On our way to a five star review EXCEPT…
The bad. The rooms are pretty bruised up. Could use some major renovation dollars. More importantly though, the poor logistics and communication among teams detracts from the guess experience and makes the job of the staff unduly difficult. Most of our interactions stepping outside the “buffet restaurant only” involved an error or trouble of some sort. For example, we were here for a while so wanted to try the premium terrace just to switch things up. It took four conversations and two days to find a way up there, as different staff members had totally different opinions on how this was done (including disputing the written instructions on the video screen advertising this option). Not a very premium experience. Then there was the experience of booking the entree restaurant - the instructions say come and book between noon and 12:30 pm, but on my first try coming at 11:30 they ran out of space. I asked how early to come to be successful - they wouldn’t say but another guest told me you have to wait one hour in line. I did that the next day - it was true - and we got a reservation. Then, they forgot to make the food we ordered for our kids - who were angry and tired when food for them eventually arrived. I recognize that space is limited at the entree restaurant and they have to ration that space in some fashion, but making it so unpleasant to access this “premium” feature makes it lose its appeal. Plus, every time you buy a bottle of wine for dinner you have to sign for it on an iPad - but the internet connection is poor so that was often a challenge and took away from the vibe as it sometimes took a while to get a proper connection. This is something readily fixable by ordering starlink and having a well functioning internet system. We also didn’t enjoy the often very long lines for drinks at the bars given understaffing. Service was *extremely* rare when seated, so going to the bar to self-serve was the only practical option. Wasted too much time doing this.
In short my opinion is that this hotel should spend more money on systems, training, and staffing (plus renovations) and charge guests a bit more to account for that. It would cost more but I believe would provide guests with better value.

3rd time at this location and it is always a great experience. Know before you go that the rooms are dated however the facilities are great. Coffee maker in each room, litres of bottled water provided daily. Towels are fluffy. Ahava products for body and hair. We don't spend much time in the room other than sleeping. Our vacation is spent outdoors. Air conditioning works extremely well. You have the ability to make local and international calls at no charge from your room. The resort is spotless. Pool area is large and plenty of chairs around the pool and on the beach. On prior trips we were pestered by birds when eating outside - this is no longer an issue as they have a falcon who scares these scavengers away. Club Med signature massage at the spa is a real treat. Huge variety of healthy food always available. Shout outs! - Samantha - fitness instructor extraordinaire - Bruno - probably the best aqua fit instructor across all of Club Med. Also his power walks are great. - Dylan, Jorge and Luna - tennis coaches - provided great drills and games. Very personable guys. They created a great engaging atmosphere.(there is lots of pickle ball as well) - Nicole - exceptional attention to customer services - goes above and beyond - Valdamor - Miramar bar - always smiling and makes the best mojitos - Daniel - CdV - always visible, engaging and attentive - Jorge - IT technician - so patient and knowledgeable - Vilmer -reception -Yuki - yoga and Sound Bath Meditation daily - Roberto sous chef

We were traveling 3 adults with a baby and had 2 deluxe rooms with balconies (it is not possible to book more than 2 adults in these rooms, even though they are large enough for 4 or 5 people). As we had a baby, they wisely placed us on the garden level, which made access easier with the stroller. And as we had all booked together, the 2 rooms were next to each other, which was not guaranteed when booking. The rooms are very large (over 500 square feet) and practical, as shown in the map on the club's website. They were renovated a while ago, but were very clean and functional. The one for the baby had a bed, a diaper bin, a small bath and a bottle warmer, we know how to accommodate babies, which is not the case in many hotels. The club bracelet allows you to open the door and the safety box. Instead of a telephone there is a tablet which in addition to providing information on activities, allows you to make free calls anywhere in the world. Free wifi is slow at 1 mbps but sufficient if you don't do heavy streaming. We were in the Iguana block, in the center of the village, a few minutes from everything, on one side or the other.
Our last visit to a Med club was 5 years ago and we have visited all the clubs in the Mexico and Caribbean zone (except the new Michès), around fifteen stays in the last 25 years. The quality of the food has declined over the years, but it is still very good, there is something for everyone. The lunch buffet offers fewer choices. At breakfast, fresh orange juice, an egg station of our choice, including omelettes, smoked salmon and the usual basic choices. Another restaurant near the beach offers a serviced a la carte menu when the main buffet restaurant is closed. You can also eat there certain evenings, by reserving for lunch.
The activities are well organized, the GOs are friendly and mostly Mexican, but are a little more reserved than the French and Quebec GOs who were the majority around ten years ago. In pikleball, the rackets are very worn, bring your own if you have them. No windsurf boards, but easy-to-maneuver SUPs and catamarans (there is not always enough wind to do so, however). Few activities and entertainment in the evening since it is a family club.
In conclusion, it is a great place to go with children. The weather is very beautiful in this region, the water in the sea and the swimming pool is warm and as with all Med clubs, they were among the first hotels to set up and therefore have one of the most beautiful locations .

We spent a great week in Ixtapa, our first Club Med experience but it won't be the last. We liked the smaller resort and atmosphere as it was easy to move around and get from place to place which is very important when walking with a 2 year old!
Our 5 year old spent a few days at the kids club, and we liked how easy it was to do partial days and pick / choose activities based on his interests (or mood..). They do a good job of keeping them busy and engaged with lots of new experiences. All of the GOs were very friendly and accommodating.
The room set-up was ideal with a separate kids sleeping area, this meant we could bring our 2 year old back for afternoon naps in a quiet environment. They also had strollers available which helped when carting kids and gear to the pools.
The food was exceptional and offered something for everyone. The hardest thing was getting our 5 year old to eat something substantial before running to the desert table.
A special shout out to the water sports group (especially Paulo) as they went above and beyond to help us especially on our last day there.
Hope to come back soon!

We’ve been to dozens of all-inclusives including multiple Club Meds and are surprised the company is willing to have their name associated with this location. There may be some 5-star bot reviews. The activities were the best part of our trip. Dylan and Luna at racquet sports are SUPERSTARS. The guys at watersports are all friendly and knowledgeable. Samantha at fitness was also great, as were the trapeze staff but we were disappointed that was the only circus activity. The other locations have bungee, juggling, tightrope etc. The beach is beautiful with lots of shady spots. Families with young kids seemed to like the pool and there were always chairs available. We did the turtle excursion which was really fun and exciting.
We agree with the rest of the 3-star reviewers. The food was *ok*- nothing exceptional and it got quite boring after a few days. There is also only 1 a-la-carte restaurant (or 2 if you count the terrace of the buffet). We tipped at each meal because the staff work very hard. The gym and hotel rooms desperately need repairs. Usually resorts bring in entertainment- like magicians, dancers, the Michael Jackson show etc.- but staff were responsible for the night shows and they were pretty bad (sorry, no offence to the staff). Typically Club Meds, and all-inclusives generally, stock the minibar with at least pop and beer, but that is extra. The hotel will not exchange US or CAD, so bring pesos. The sunsets were magical. We will definitely go to other Club Meds but will not return to this one.

Well, I guess I’ll answer my own question since no one has replied. Unfortunately, the answer is no. The boutique will sell Marlboro cigarettes, but no cigars so if you want to have a cigar, you better bring it with you before arriving.😒
You can contact Club med, because I think they took off the little adult pool. I did not see it on my last trip.
We always stayed in iguana building. Its close to everything in my opinion.
Hi there. Neither my wife or I are coffee drinkers, so we do not recall. I suggest calling Club Med (the central number), and they can tell you, or look at the web site specific to this Club Med, and find the section on the room descriptions. The dinning facilities are quite good, and they provide ways of getting food at nearly all hours (up to whatever later time at night). Your food and Beveridge needs will not go unheeded.
There are more places to choose from in the Ixtapa area.
