This is by far our favorite family vacation, the weather in Ixtapa is always consistent and high 80's. The GO staff are great. The kitchen team, Hector and Roberto were fantastic and very accommodating to the 3 vegans in our group. Charlotte, fitness GO, was fabulous and her classes were challenging, creative and fun. She always had a smile on her face. She had the best beach workouts as well. Paulo and Luna, Landsports GO's were great. Dylan, tennis/pickleball GO, was outstanding. He was always friendly and enthusiastic. The GO team were all wonderful. We had 33 in our group of all ages and everyone had a blast. We love that there is something for every vacationer, pool, beach, workout, sports, drinking, lounging, foodie, excursion, shopping. We will definitely be back next year.

Hotel's Favourite
Just came back from our second stay at Clubmed Ixtapa! This time in the summer, and just the two of us. My daughter (11) had an amazing time with the junior club lead by their fantastic G.O. Team: Bruno, Sara and James Bond. I barely saw her the whole week as she didn't want to leave them, and wanted to stay with the group of girls she met at the Junior Club. Her favorite sport activities were: Archery with David. Flying trapeze with Mini, Kim and Abraham. Kayak and catamaran with most entertaining G.O. Team: Miranda, Rodrigo, Marco and Fernando! My favorite activities during the day were: The tennis program lead by Mitch aka the king of the Glow-in-the dark party! Aqua gym with the dynamic duo, Chris and Julia. Kayak and catamaran with the best G.O. team of the village: Miranda, Rodrigo, Marco and Fernando! I also enjoyed watching the turtle release at the beach and thank you Mer (eGO) for the great explanation of the process, and for taking some amazing pictures of the baby turtles with my phone! At night the animation team, lead by Rafa and Junior, kept us on our feet with the crazy signs! Kudos to Mini and Rodrigo for keeping us entertains with their comedic talent, they are definitely the best performers of the nightly shows. The food was amazing especially the bread for breakfast, and their daily dinner specials (e.g. foie gras, mahi mahi, couscous...). We also spent an afternoon at the spa: massage, manicure and chillaxing at the balcony. It was my daughter's first spa experience, she chose the kids special and loved it. Alex is doing a great job at making sure his guests has a memorable spa experience . We highly recommend the Family Deluxe Room with Balcony at the Iguanas as it offers a beautiful view of the beach and it is centrally located.

Having visited Club Med, Turks, and Caicos, I was confident this would be a similar experience… Wow, was I wrong! Staff was horribly rude, accommodations were disgusting. Food and drinks were some of the worst I have ever encountered. Friends in group had money stolen from their rooms and nothing was done to make up for this by the staff. Another friend had mold and leaking toilet and water pouring from the air conditioning unit overhead and again, nothing was done to make up for this. There is literally nothing that could ever make me come back to this resort, even if it were a completely free trip. Avoid at all costs!

We stayed there Nov 25-Dec 2, 2023. The resort grounds and facilities are beautiful, convenient, clean - very pleasant to hang out and relax. The food was great, many choices, snacks, drinks, dinner under stars, barbeque lunches, etc. We usually do a LOT of activities. The fitness/wellness classes were very difficult but we enjoyed them very much. Charlotte and Paulo were the instructors. Thank you to both! The water sports here were the best compared to other Club Med locations. This is the only location where sailing beginner class, advanced class and a capsize class were offered every day. In addition to classes, they also had kayak/pedalboard (a board with a steering bar and pedals) adventure trips to the nearest island twice a week, AND every day there was an option for guests to get a ride on a catamaran with a GO. The GOs Issam, (Fernando and Ricardo) were great keeping us busy and entertained! Now the things we did not like. 1. The room had only one sink. If two very active people do several fitness/sport activities every day and need to change 4-5 times a day, one sink is a bit of inconvenience. 2. The checkout was a bit weird. We did not get a letter with our departure details - other Clubmed locations do provide such letter. This letter states what time your luggage needs to be ready for pickup, what time your transfer to the airport will be waiting for you, what time you need to leave the resort for the airport, etc. And later it turned out that in the computer system our flight and departure information was not correct, and nobody noticed/tried to fix that until AFTER we left. 3. When we were dropped at the airport, it turned out our transfer driver was not paid by Clubmed. I hope this was sorted out, but it was upsetting. 4. We did a horse tour reserved through Clubmed, paid appr. $180 for 2 people. There was no English-speaking guide or a GO with us, no other tourists, just the two of us, we could not communicate with the rancheros, did not know where we were or where we were supposed to be, and of course there was no phone/internet coverage - if something were to happen, we would not be able to call for help. The trail from the rancho to the beach was through some residential area with garbage, dogs. The taxi driver arranged by Clubmed was to be paid 900 pesos ($52), demanded 75 dollars which we paid without arguing. Overall, this was a bit scary experience, we were relieved when we got back to the resort safe and sound. I want to emphasize that the rancheros did NOT do anything wrong, they were very nice: they were paid to provide 2 horses and one accompanying person, and that exactly what they did. But Clubmed needs to organize such tours more carefully and thoughtfully. My advice to travelers is this: Do not go on this tour unless you speak Spanish, are a part of a group and are an intermediate level horse rider.

This was our second time to Club Med Ixtapa and it was great! We went with a group of 12 family members and it was so nice that there were big tables in the main dining hall to accommodate us all. Everyone at the resort was professional and friendly, the food was AMAZING, the beach was so wonderful that we were there most of each day. I'm hoping we will come back again soon!

My family had so much fun at club med ixtapa. The teens club was so much fun with Sender and Ariel. All the G.O.s are super nice and there is such great service. I loved the trapeze, and everyone working their was super helpful. The water there is so nice, especially on a hot day. The turtle outing they have there was so much fun. The hotel is huge and there is so much to explore. I can’t wait to go back!

I loved everything about it including the great food and wonderful, energetic atmosphere. Special shout out to Charlotte the strength training French dynamo. She's insanely fit and strikes just the right balance of intensity and fun. I definitely got stronger in just a few days and it has inspire me to continue that effort. I just wish there was a Charlotte at my local gym. The kids had a fantastic time too and made some lasting friendships. Thanks Club Med.

ClubMed at Ixtapa Pacific, Mexico We’re back home in British Columbia Canada after three glorious November weeks at ClubMed (CM) Ixtapa. I’m listening to “Hear Me Now” by Alok, and feeling nostalgic about our time just spent on the Pacific coast of Mexico. It’s now Friday night at home; So we know that everyone’s favourite show, MUSIC FACTORY, will start in an hour without us; But we’ll be there in spirit to see our GO friends we played with during the day, performing on stage in this talented, amusing review of hit music from the 60s to the present day. I know that the powerful sound of waves crashing ashore will not be lulling me to sleep tonight…. This is the third time for us at CM Ixtapa in the last 12 months, which certainly indicates our love of the place: Perfect weather at 31°C every day (88 F); 25°C every night (77 F). As per my last review, I’m not going to mention GOs or other staff by name. There are far too many of those superb people who go way beyond expectations in providing guests with a wonderful time; So I’ll emphasize general impressions: Fall is usually a big staff (GO) turnover period, as so many of them move to new villages and new life experiences. So when we arrived, there were many new faces and a few of the ones we knew from our two previous and relatively recent visits. The new team is becoming cohesive with a profound allegiance to the ClubMed vibe, which includes a commitment to positive conversation and socializing with the guests (GMs) at all times. It precludes all negative talk. It’s an attitude that is contagious, albeit a little unreal…. But perhaps that’s precisely what we need a piece of in our world today – even if it’s only for a little while on vacation. We never heard anyone talking about bad news or even about geopolitical affairs. My partner and I never even turned on TV during the 21 days we were at ClubMed this time. We have travelled to many ClubMed destinations over the years, but this time with a big difference: Seven family members joined us for one of the weeks we were there. This included four parents and their three children (our grandchildren aged 15,14 and 10); We had been concerned about whether they would adapt to the Club Med vacation style we had been talking about for so long. They absolutely loved it! They got to know many of the GOs and some of the GMs, who became in one short week friends in a tight-knit & positive community. They made new friends from around the world, and listened with interest to the many different languages being spoken around them. Sometimes they followed the daily dress-code which they found amusing; And sometimes they wore shorts, their caps backwards, just being themselves. They were all uber-active from dawn until dusk and beyond, and they did everything: They loved playing in the big and very warm Pacific ocean waves, they went sailing, did archery, played tennis & Pickleball; Every afternoon at 5 PM they played volleyball, and did so energetically and well; The three grandchildren did trapeze which was a new activity for them, and they performed “the catch” after only three sessions. They attended the nightly show on most evenings, enjoying all of its craziness as well as its talent; And they even joined us at night on the dance floor for line dancing (crazy signs). By 11 PM each night, they were exhausted. And guess what: They were OFF THEIR PHONES & DEVICES! In the 25 years that we have been together, I have never seen my partner as happy as she was this time with her family around her enjoying themselves so thoroughily. Those seven family members are now back at school or at work; They say they are telling all their friends about how much fun they had for their ClubMed week, and how they all want to return next year. As for the food: We have always been very enthusiastic about the quality of the buffet and its variety. We appreciate the different dinner themes: Mexican night, sushi; and of course the ice cream counter - a favourite for all of us. Imagine a buffet that often includes roasted foie gras, sashimi, tortilla soup with all its Mexican fixings; But which also always includes for kids (or like-minded adults) hamburgers, fries and chicken nuggets. As one of our group added, “Really good salads, pasta and plenty of fresh fruit” In closing, I will mention one person: Antonio di Razza, the Chief of Village (CDV). We have known him since 2017, when he was in charge of the Columbus Isle village. He is a most charming, caring and dedicated promoter of the ClubMed vibe of positivity, fun, enthusiasm, engagement and friendship. He is everywhere, talking to everyone and is constantly vigilant to make his village a very happy place. We sincerely thank Antonio and all of his team for the wonderful time they provided for us and for our family.

ClubMed Ixtapa is my happy place. The weather is amazing. I love eating Mexican food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The premium wine selection is pretty good. Stick with the Mexican wines. The French ones are way over priced. The kids had a blast at Mini camp with lots of fun activities, an adorable show and amazing love and care from the staff. The rooms are outdated and not in the best condition, but at least of I don't have to worry about my kids ruining something. This is not really a big deal because we spend so little time in the room. Water sports, exercise classes, archery and trapeze is always a blast. The resort is small, which is great, because we feel completely comfortable letting our kids run wild and know they'll be safe and won't get lost.
