Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

At the Travelodge Chippenham Leigh Delamere M4 Westbound hotel, many guests have found the rooms to be a comfortable and economical choice, despite some calling for updates and having mixed views on cleanliness. The meticulous cleanliness throughout and the friendly service receive high marks, contributing to the hotel's reputation for comfort and value.
While the atmosphere is generally liked, suggestions for modernizing the decor are noted. Proximity to the motorway means noise levels can vary, but the basic yet satisfactory amenities make it a convenient stopover for travelers.

Detailed Reviews
Booking and check in without a hitch. Comfortable, clean, typical Travelodge room. All the basics you need for an overnight stop. Very convenient location within the services, minutes walk from the shops, cafes, etc., but no ongoing traffic noise during the night. The stand out feature of this hotel however is the staff. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the night staff, who amid ongoing check ins, helped us deal with a poorly child in the middle of the night by making up a fresh clean room for us. Very touched that the morning staff then checked to make sure we were ok. Our thanks to all involved! We will definitely stay again.

In my years with TA and with over 500 reviews, I think I have probably reviewed this Travelodge before. Its rating reflects a reasonable, reliable standard, even more so for the cheap rate over the Christmas period, when I stayed this year due to a trip down to Cornwall. Its location is a convenient halfway-ish point from London.
But the first thing I noticed on this visit was the grotty carpet. How stupid to make the corporate colour of their carpets royal blue, which shows up everything, but my room’s carpets were particularly bad. Day after day, week after week of quickly “swishing” a hoover around when servicing a room will result in this, but as I said, haven’t seen it this bad in a long time. Puts you off really.
Otherwise, not too bad. The rooms are a bit tired, but bed comfortable and shower good. We arrived late at night, and the heating was even on for us when we arrived, which was a nice touch.
Do sort out your vacuum cleaners though, or change the bag possibly (works a treat), or maybe just monitor the staff that use them. OK?

Great value for £34 for a double room/family room. Good TV, smallish bed but comfortable, efficient heating, tea making facility, bath & shower, towels. It was fine for a nights stay and even had a pull out bed underneath that would fit 2 children, so excellent value. They also had extra tea bags, coffee, milk and sugar in Reception and a vending machine for late night snacks.

The price you can’t really complain at but you’d expect for the bedding at least to be clean, we stayed for one night, our bed had stains on the quilts and a funny smell on the spare pillows we didn’t end up using. The bath didn’t drain properly and there was stains on the curtain. Floor defo didn’t seem hoovered either

Stayed at Leigh Delamere M4 Westbound in preparation for Saturday at the Royal Air Tattoo. Leigh M4 is near enough to Fairford and cheap enough for a one night stop over. Room was clean and the staff had put the fan on to ventilate the room, so it wasn’t so hot. The room had the usual facilities - tea and coffee provided, kettle, pots of milk, TV (which I don’t bother using), no free WIFi but then I don’t bother with that either. No soap in the dispenser near the basin but I brought my own anyway. Pillows were thin and had to stack them to get the height I wanted, but spares were provided so I didn’t have to bring my own. Bed was clean. Noise outside the room was fairly busy but then the hotel was near the main slip road out of Leigh Delamere so you’d expect the noise. Found the slip road between this hotel and Eastbound. To get to it, you have to go to the back of the car park away from the entry and there is a tiny slip road which crosses the entry road (be careful as traffic comes off v quickly) then you follow the slip road past some woodland, then houses, then the road bends to the left and you turn out of the junction to the left and cross the M4 and look for a slip road to eastbound side then join the eastbound motorway by following the exit signs to the left again. Simple and v useful.

We stayed here for a long weekend. We did find it hard to navigate out as we didn't want to go back onto the m4 to get to family. Kirsty was a wealth of information directed us how to use the back roads which only took us two minutes rather then half an hour to visit family. Kirsty would vend over backwards to help you and always wore a smile on her face. The rooms are as they should be cheap and cheerful with an electric fan. Bedding was clean room was tidy. All staff were lovely but we interacted more with Kirsty.

Stayed at this hotel for one night. No noise at all from traffic with window closed. However this made the room hot and the fan provided made little difference. Pleasant stay with plenty of food choices in the service station and a comfy bed. Value for money.

Travelodge have upped their game in the past few years and provide a decent at a fair price. The fact there were electric charger points close to this facility was a bonus. Definitely one to add to our list of stopping points

It is disgusting here dirty and run down sanitary towels in the bin and dirty rooms very run down. Homeless people are rehomed here and drugs and drinking outside children running up and down the corridors we were relocated at our expense to another near by travelodge which was a little better. Travelodge customer services are rude and trying to get a refund is proving very difficult the only good thing is the lady im charge of reception who was very helpful and embarrassed for the company.

The public areas of this Travelodge are in need to a revamp. However the room was spotlessly clean and we received excellent customer service from Bouna on Reception. He helped us with directions to find an evening meal beyond the Moto services.

The road is outside the hotel but the room are well insulated with double glazing so not too noisy
Indeed it is there is a service road between them
If you want somewhere in Chippenham, Allington Farm Shop cafe is very good.
