We had a fantastic stay at the Hyatt Ziva! We spent a Friday to Tuesday at the property, so we had 3 full days. Arriving at the resort, we encountered Carlos, who welcomed us kindly and he was also the last person who we saw when we left. He was so nice and personable and truly set the tone of our arrival and made us feel good when leaving as he seemed genuinely happy to have us visit. We arrived and our ocean-view room was not ready…they quickly decided to move us into an incredible ocean-view room on the 7th floor with ample space for our family of four. Our daughters slept on the oversized (I think queen sized) couch in the living room and my husband and I took the master. It truly felt like two adjoining rooms, they were so big and well appointment and SPOTLESS. We even had two bathrooms and two full private balconies! We had a club level room with a concierge. My family LOVED hanging in the club after the pool to grab a snack, a cocktail with premium liquor and play pool. Everyone at the club was very nice and helpful. Guadalupe even remembered my husband and daughters drink orders from the day before and asked if they wanted their usual:). If you can swing getting the concierge service, get it! Our concierge for our stay was Alejandra and she was amazing! She texted us recommendations every day on what to do and where to eat and we booked our cabana and spa appts directly through her via text. We told her what we needed and she made it happen! She was so nice, we were sad to say goodbye as she truly treated us like family! My daughter and I enjoyed the mom/daughter spa package and the spa is very clean and well appointed. They had two relaxation areas that were perfect, with drinks and light snacks. Elizabeth and Anel were our attendants and we thoroughly enjoyed a long conversation with them while they did our nails. We learned a lot about the local culture learning about their lives living in the area and told us about their families and what they do for fun. They treated us like locals and we could tell that they were proud of what they do and where they live. They were truly lovely. The pool area was fantastic, albeit it pretty loud, but we have two kids (11 and 14) so it was fun. If you want more quiet, there was an adult pool that we did not have a chance to visit. Manny in water aerobics was SO FUN and hysterical. I’ve been to many resorts and water aerobics is usually offered, but this was different. It was part comedy while getting a great workout. My daughters and I had a blast with Manny! Our other favorite pool activity was listening to the saxophone player. He was so good and it was SO different. He was playing saxophone to familiar pool music (dua lipa/taylor swift…etc) it was one of our favorite memories as we danced in the pool. I’d like to thank the very nice gentleman Erick, one of the valets. I went across the street to the pharmacy and I tripped and fell and he was so attentive and worried. Ran right over through the gate to help me up and waited for me to come back to make sure I was ok, offered to clean up my scrape and was genuinely concerned. Senora Margarita in the buffet greeted us every time we came by, which was often for breakfast and once for dinner. She always remembered us and made us feel super welcome. She was lovely!! Our kids loved the buffet that they went for dinner alone there while my husband and I went to El Molino right in the same area. Omg El Molino was our favorite!!! The BEST tortilla soup I have ever had in my life! Get the tortilla soup! Green Enchiladas were my favorite too!!! So good. The Italian restaurant had amazing breakfast but dinner was just ok. The beach area is beautiful and security does a great job of keeping vendors from harassing. We did not feel pressured at all to buy anything. The lifeguard on our first night there was incredible. He saw my daughter going over to touch the water (not go in bc we know it was dangerous) and stood guard keeping a close eye on her. I forgot my sandals down by the water and I came back 2 hours later and he knew exactly where they were and sprinted to get them for me. Overall, the perfect family vacation spot! We loved it and booked through Angelina at Cupcake Castle’s travel. She’s incredible as well and found this property for us and gave us the lay of the land. Will definitely come back!

This was my first all inclusive vacation I have taken -It was our friends 40th birthday and they picked the hotel. We took our two kids, 5 and 7. Overall the hotel was very nice and the hotel staff very nice and friendly. Anytime I needed anything extra at the room (waters, shampoo, mouthwash, towels) they were very prompt. The pool service was excellent and they refilled our beers before we were done with the current beer! The infinite pool water was nice and warm but hot tubs left a lot to be desired. The water was really murky and I would get funky smells every once in awhile. I think they need to do some serious sanitizing and cleaning on those at night time when no one is using them. We used the babysitting service one night ($30/hour for two kids) so that we could go to the French Restaurant that is 18+. The food was OK throughout the resort. Certain restaurants were good some were not. I have never done all inclusive because I will spend money on good food and wine and don't like to waste calories on things that aren't that great. I left dinner on multiple occasions still hungry because the food was not that great. The hibachi table was the best meal we had (but you can only go there one time during your stay). Again -If your expectation that food is not going to be great at all inclusive then you will be OK...I think I just had my hopes up too high. The wine included is also not edible. We ended up going to a wine store in town and buying multiple bottles and brought our own to dinner every night. The prices of the upgraded wine on the resort were astronomical. For comparison a bottle in US for $30 at the grocery is about $150 at the restaurants...which is why we went to the wine store in town and spend $40/bottle on great wine and just brought it to the restaurants. My child has multiple food allergies and they were very good about making sure his food was safe.

It was just over a year since our last visit some things are different, some not. The pool nearest the hotel is still very cold, thus chairs at the beach pool fill up very fast. The hotel has moved cabanas from the front pool to the beach pool significantly decreasing the number of available beach pool chairs (Booo). Please heat the other pool and guests will use it!
The condition of some of the rooms show need of repair/renovation. Doors that don't close properly, leaky shower, obvious wall patching, poor painting, etc.
However, the view and proximity to the beach is fabulous! Also, the location is very convenient to stores for picking up items you may have forgotten. The resort is within easy walking distance of other restaurants.
The service we received in the restaurants was outstanding! Special thanks to Edgar (buffet mgr), Victor (buffet server), Irving (Asian rest mgr), Lorencio (Tequila bar), and Francisco (pool waiter). The service they provided our family was simply terrific!
Our experience was that the housekeeping was thorough, room service timely, and bellmen were available when we needed them. Keeping in mind that this is an all inclusive, I believe the food was good.
The days when the resort isn't hosting a convention are much more peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable. The resort hosts many conventions, some very large.
Unfortunately, a few unthinking? (loud, impolite, drunk, demanding, rude) conventioneers can detract greatly from all the good times.

We just got back and it was our first time out of the country during covid. The fact the hotel was limited to 40% capacity, we had a lot of things to ourselves. It felt like going to Disneyland a few hours before they open. Some things were different and there are some drawbacks to going the third week since they reopened but most things were better. The swim up bar was not open, instead waiters roved into the bar and took orders, like they did everywhere you went. This was done to keep people from reaching in between people sitting at the bar to order drinks. You could still sit at the swim up bar and get a drink, but nobody had a reason to nudge you to get one to go. The shows were not done every night but they did outdoor shows every other night and set up outdoor food like it was a wedding but it was open to everyone. Not every dining option was open every night but with the small crowd we got into every specialty dining place during our week but we had no problem getting into all of the specialty dining places over the course of the week, no lines anywhere in the resort or either of the two towns. We had the swim up room and met my wife's two sisters and their husbands there. Most of the time we had the swim up pool to ourselves, waiters always there before your drink emptied and would even bring you food. We like the swim up rooms and always get them but you really didn't need it since none of the pools were crowded. Uzziel from room service brought us our nightly wine (house reds were actually good, rare for an AI), he and the rest of the staff were so great, unfortunately his name was the only one I remembered. I brought twice my normal tipping budget, I know it won't change the world but I knew many of these workers were off for months and without the generous unemployment insurance we have in the states. But you wouldn't know it from their attitude, they were all so nice, gracious and happy we were there.

If you worry about cleanliness, I saw them clean a swim up room between guests as I sat in the pool and they had the sliding glass doors open.. A team of three spent about an hour in there, cleaning and sanitizing everything, including the faces of the drawers and the sides of furniture.

We are fortunate to be able to travel more than most but all of our trips are purely for fun and adventure, this trip was therapy, we needed it and the Ziva delivered. We will be back and I'm sure we will love it but I know I'll miss having a resort to ourselves.

When you first arrive off your shuttle from the airport the view of the breezeway and common area of the lobby is stunning and gorgeous. The memory still sits in my mind as one of the main highlights of this hotel. It has several bars with different "themes" and staggered hours so you always have somewhere to go. The staff across the entire hotel ranging from both bar to cleaning crews to restaurant staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. The walkways are always clean and are beautifully designed and maintained. The pools are beautiful, the hot tubs are warm and large, the drinks are strong and the food is hot and delicious!

The rooms are beautiful and filled with all the amenities you could want. We stayed in the king ocean view with a jacuzzi tub and a walk in shower. The room had large tile throughout and the balcony and views were absolutely breathtaking. The room services are unmatched. If we asked for 3 glasses of wine or champagne, we would get two glasses and a whole bottle. The refrigerators in the room were stocked daily with snacks and beer, mixers and other treats. We arrived to our room with a welcome plate that had chocolate strawberries and a bottle of bubbly in a bucket of ice.

All of this just to say, if you go to Cabo, stay here. the 20 minute Uber ride down to the Cabo San Lucas side where the bars and clubs are is worth it just to have this place to return to at the end of the night.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Hyatt Ziva from Feb 9 to Feb 16. We enjoyed our trip despite the cool weather. The hotel is on a beautiful property with a large number of rooms. The design is open and the several pools are large, allowing a lot of space for guests in and around them.

The room we had, upgraded to a larger size "club" room was well decorated and had a comfortable bed. It seemed to be getting a little "long in the tooth" but was mostly well maintained and was very clean. At times there was substantial noise from nearby rooms, including one night, loud snoring that penetrated an adjoining wall!

The facility as a whole is kept sparking clean.

Staff is excellent, almost all pleasant and friendly, but not cloyingly friendly (as it should be).

I especially want to thank restaurant waiters Jesus and Lleves (Mexican buffet) and Luis in the Club bar/restaurant, 4th floor, main building. They provide friendly, impeccable service and should be recognized for this by management.

Some of the restaurants (French, Spanish) were disappointing; the food did not meet international standards. The Italian restaurant provided excellent food including a fresh fish selection that was filleted and grilled to perfection. The Mexican food at the buffet (Plaza and El Molino) was excellent as was the food at Taco Loco).

However I did notice the kitchen staff at Taco Loco handling some of the food with their hands; not using gloves or tongs; this is certainly a concern that should be dealt with!

The house wine was average at best. The only way to upgrade wine is to buy a full bottle at the equivalent for about $60 US or more. This is prohibitive when there is only one person drinking wine! The restaurants should offer better house wine and/or upgraded wine by the glass.

The beach is beautiful with a lovely broad expanse of sand. It is great for walking but not for swimming due to the powerful surf. It is wonderful that there are small crowds and that the local people, even the vendors, are low key and friendly.

Lastly the town of Cabo San Jose is a short walk or taxi ride away. Visiting the town and seeing the art on display adds to the pleasure of a stay at the Hyatt Ziva.

I am happy to give the hotel a 4 star rating and will definitely return if the opportunity arises!

To even begin to name all the things that we loved about staying at the Hyatt Ziva I could write a novel. We arrived on Friday after a stressful canceled flight coming out of Houston the day before and we’re just ready to unwind and celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We were greeted with a welcome drink, hand sanitizer and temperature checks (this is our new world normal and it was so easy and professional). The entire property even after being closed for six months was spotless, staff are constantly around cleaning and making the grounds beautiful. Every day, everywhere we went people were greeting us and asking how our stay was going and if we needed anything. The service here is easily a 10/10.

I want to just recognize a few people we LOVED and made our whole visit just that much better. Jesus at La Plaza (for breakfast) and the hostess there Margarita remember us every morning, how I took my coffee, where we wanted to sit... even gave us a church recommendation when we asked so instantly we felt more at home. In total we stayed 7 nights and even extended our trip a day because we were having such an incredible time. Maria at the adult pool side was super sweet and as neither my husband or I drink alcohol the entire staff down by the pool and beach (especially Genaro) knew every drink and food item we preferred. Genaro is the most fast paced and efficient person I’ve probably ever come into contact with, he does everything with purpose and is unbelievably pleasant and every day.

Besides the staff the location is within walking distance to Old Town Cabo where they have a Art Walk on Thursday nights starting at 5pm. We took a morning fishing trip from the hotel and also visited downtown Cabo to go on a sailing trip around the Arch. Everything you could possibly want to do the Hyatt is so perfectly located nothing takes more than 30 mins to get to. Bonus, today we are leaving for the airport with is just around 20 mins away. To us that was a huge deal because when you get off the plane you want to get to your hotel as quickly as possible and when you’re checking out you don’t want to stress about going to the Airport!

We were nervous to travel given the ongoing pandemic however we needed a get away for our sanity. Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos was exactly the escape we needed from reality. The car service that the hotel helped us coordinate was timely and impeccably clean. They wiped our bags and offered opportunities to sanitize our hands. When we arrived at the resort smiles were everywhere from the staff starting with Anselmo who checked us in and Alberto who showed us around the resort and to our room. The food options were excellent and we had plenty of healthy options for adults and the children in addition to lots of treats! The gelato in the 24 hour cafe was a favorite and I'm pretty sure Rubie saw my husband and children in there at least twice a day! We were surprised at how amazing the service was particularly at the pool where our servers were running constantly to make sure we felt valued and absolutely spoiled. They did this all with a smile and I felt really valued having us there as guests. The staff even sang "Happy Birthday" to my son at breakfast! The cabana upgrades were so affordable we reserved one every day which was a nice treat. My friend and I took both the beach yoga and water cycling classes and our instructor was awesome and he did a fantastic leading the classes. It felt awesome to take care of our bodies knowing we were planning on pool lounging most of the day. Victor the food and beverage manager as well as the female restaurant manger at the buffet made sure we and the children had a wonderful dining experience. The buffets were "no touch" meaning the staff was serving you to keep everything clean so the whole experience felt very safe. The grounds were absolutely pristine; the one groundskeeper I saw working daily to keep the gardens picture perfect. The hotel was cleaned around the clock and areas to clean shoes were at every entrance. Honestly, I felt saver from a cleanliness standpoint at the Hotel then back in my home community. Each evening there was entertainment which was highlighted very gifted dancers and singers. We didn't leave the resort because we didn't feel that we needed or wanted to but there is certainly more in the area from an excursion standpoint that they can help ordinate for you.
We will absolutely be back for another visit. Thank you to ALL of the staff at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos!!!! Every one of you were AMAZING!!!!

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos was a last minute switch from Cancun due to the numerous storms and hurricanes in the Carribean the week of November 1-8. This was our third time to the Cabos area, the first was to Fiesta Americana, the second was Riu Palace Los Cabos and this third time to the San Jose Del Cabos area and Hyatt Ziva. All three were nice, however the staff and service at Hyatt Ziva surpassed both of the other resorts.

Covid 19 measures were in place, hand sanitizer everywhere, shoe disinfection at every doorway into restrooms or restaurants, masks worn by staff at all times, and temperature checks for entry into all restaurants.

The rooms were very clean, only one side of the resort was open as they were at low capacity, and toiletries were delivered in sealed plastic bags, and you had to special request robes or slippers. Chairs were spaced apart at the pool and beach areas, and in the restaurants tables were cleaned on a regular basis and spaced far apart.

Everyone working at this resort was smiling and friendly, special shout outs to Maria at the Adult pool and her famous tacos, Luis the pool waiter who kept the water, mojito's and pina coladas coming on the regular, and Alberto in in the breakfast buffet who kept my cranberry and champagne glass full without me having to ask.

The rooms were spacious, all of the food in the restaurants was very good, the drinks were made correctly everytime (which is a challenge at most all inclusives). The shows were just so-so, but that may be due to it being Covid and not being fully staffed.

The beach area was large and kept clean, the infinity pool was at a tolerable temperature, and was not overcrowded, but I could see it being overly crowded if resort was at full capacity.

If you like Cabos, then by all means try this resort and you will not be disappointed, however, I am a warm water beach kind of girl and much prefer Puerto Vallarta or the Carribean, but if you go for the pools this one would be a great choice.

I stayed at the Hyatt Ziva in Los Cabo in Feb 2020 with my wife and 8 month old baby. It was such a fantastic experience. The staff at this resort were extremely helpful and friendly. All request were promptly adhered too and they never wait around awkwardly for a tip. The food was amazing, our favorite was the sushi bar! Also the drinks were always made to perfection, best Mojitos we have had yet. This was a good location for us as it was a short ride from the airport, and anything extra you may need/want that the resort doesn't have can be found right across the street at a huge supermarket "La Comer La Cascada". Nightly entertainment was great.Very talented dancers...my only comment for improvement there is the shows all started at 9 which was a bit late for us being up before daylight with our baby each day. (There is a kids show at 8) The condition of the hotel is immaculate and very clean. We spent most of our time in the big pool closer to the beach because the main large pool was too cold but this was fine for us because the resort was not that busy while we were there so lots of room for everyone. All in all i would 100% recommend this resort to anyone , it was a fantastic experience.Food was great.
a tip for anyone traveling with babys... request a walk out ground level room close to the pool so when baby goes for naps during the day we would have our video/sound monitor with us and could sit around the pool and enjoy the mojitos!
Cheers, Happy Vacationing!

Those are the rules. We left the property for dinner. The food at Hyatt Ziva is terrible.
