The Club at Hacienda del Mar garners appreciation for its prime beach location and authentic Mexican ambiance, with guests often lauding the picturesque views and tranquil gardens. While the pool service and beach amenities are popular among visitors, there is some feedback regarding the scarcity of chairs and umbrellas. The hotel's attentive service receives accolades, although some guests have experienced slow service.
Despite the overall cleanliness, travelers suggest that the rooms would benefit from modernization and maintenance. Additionally, concerns are raised about the dining being overpriced, affecting the perceived value.

Detailed Reviews
There Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar was a beautiful escape from the insanity of daily life. While I will acknowledge that i’m not normally a regular to the Sheraton brand, often preferring Marriotts high end properties, the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar over delivered in ever possible way. The staff was exceptional, the food was perfection, the ocean views were sublime and the the grounds were beautiful to take in.
From the moment we walked into the hotel, the staff provided a level of service and kindness that rivals some of the top resorts. The front desk immediately acknowledged my Ambassador status and upgraded us to a beach front suite for our 18 day stay. When we extended, they kept our rate and room, without even flinching.
The hotel was also exceptionally professional around safety and Covid related measures, ensuring that we felt safe. Special cleaning procedures were noticed as the staff was cleaning non-stop, all while the staff ALWAYS wore masks and face shields. We felt safer in Mexico then we did in the states.
My absolute favorite part of this hotel was the friendly, kind and service oriented staff. Our breakfast servers (Oscar, Reyna, Cindy, Carlos, Aurelio, Juvilio, & Victor) were such a joy to wake up to every day. They took special care around my food allergies and provided delicious food every morning, taking special care to make it a memorable experience, each and every day.
Having to work during the week, the hotel provided a perfect escape from day to day. The views, relaxing in the pool, and walks on the beach were excellent. In the afternoons, we would escape to near by beaches to swim or snorkel since the waves out front prevent us from swimming. Chileano beach is a short 5 min drive away. I would escape to go surf at Monuments in front of the Thomson Cape hotel. In the evenings, we would use the hot tub and cold plunge pool in the spa area. There was so much to do that we didn’t ever get bored on our 18 day stay.
While the rooms are not high design, they provided everything we needed for our stay and were perfectly comfortable. Getting the suite upgrade to a luxury ocean front suite really helped give space to work and have separate rooms.
All in all, I couldn’t recommend a better value for the money as they provide 5 star service for 3 star prices. I will be back to the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar sooner rather than later.

Stayed for 5 nights in February and would go back tomorrow if I could. The property was beautifully maintained and while the room was a bit dated I thought it was really standard for a Sheraton and the beauty of this property is that you really don't want to spend any time in your room. The grounds are meticulously looked after. The views are stunning, the pools and beach area beautifully maintained, and overall I think the property just has a great laid back yet upscale feel. The people are really what made our stay so incredible. Everyone was friendly, kind, and helpful. It is also very clear that the people working at the Sheraton Grand really like their jobs and work so very hard. Adelina at Tomatoes remembered our names and our children's names and went above and beyond every single morning at breakfast to make sure we had everything we needed. She was so charming and our two daughters just loved her. Adelina, Julio, and Oscar should all be used to train at Sheraton properties around the world to show what great service looks like. They were so warm and yet very professional- cannot say enough nice things about them. Also our room was immaculate every single day. I believe our housekeeper was names Jazmin and she did an incredible job of keeping our room spotless (hard to do with two little girls bringing home treasures from the beach every day). The food was very good and it's easy to head into town for really extremely fine dining if you want something a little more upscale. We had a blast, felt so safe and welcomed and I genuinely hope we will be able to come back.

This was our first stay at Hacienda Del Mar. Upon arrival we were given the cards for the towels and keys that did not work. I could not open the door and we had to walk all the way back to the front desk. We discovered that the cards we were given were all for the towels and only one key card for the wrong room. Once we got into the room I noticed that the coffee pot was broken and the glass was on the floor.. We had a meal plan so I did not want to argue over this. The bedroom had 2 beds that were comfortable but one of them was blocking the only window in the room. The room was darker than a dungeon. Food plan was very expansive, but without the food plan it would coast a fortune to eat at their restaurants. Valeria -the concierge- was wonderful and helped us book great activities! However, on the way back from the whale watching the van was full of ppl without masks and the driver did nothing about it. It wasn't a van #34 with adventure tour picture on it. As we left the van I told the driver that he should have told ppl to wear masks as they entered. He was rude and did not respond to me and also unloaded us in the secluded location not at the front door. I did complain to the manager. Lucky for us we did not catch the virus. The grounds were well maintained and the pools were great and very warm. The kids play area was very fun and the kids club staff were amazing. Our 9 year old son loved it and they served nice food there by the water park and drinks as well. Breakfast at tomatoes was not great. Omelets cook did not speak a word of English and put whatever she wanted into my omelet. I could not eat it.. The pancakes were made out of generic pancake mix and waffles were dry and tasted terrible. For the kind of $ we paid for the meal plan they should make their pancake mix from scratch and make the omelet prep person learn a few words in English like mushroom spinach etc. Othervise our stay was great. Oscar was very nice and provided superb service. Room cleaning staff did a great job and never woke us up early by butting in. The beach was pretty rough but were still able to get into the water. We ate at the taco place a couple of times and I would recommend it for the late night snack especially the pork tacos. De Cortez restaurant was our fave for dinner! U have to try it!

It’s time for an update. The rooms are full of humidity everything feels wet. Hard to take a shower without flooding the bathroom. Floors are slippery also.
Great room cleaners they make animals out of towels and they clean and put new linens on the bed daily.
They have added walkways and handles everywhere to assist individuals didn’t have any troubles getting around.
Their luggage storage room attendants were first class had to ship my golf clubs home and was hesitant but I got word they were picked up. Never know in Mexico.
The Tequila Bar horribly over priced paid for two shots could buy entire bottle in USA.
The outside Taco Bar not bad at $4.00 a taco good place to get a cheap meal.
The breakfasts at $25.00 were great especially the pastries

If you are RCI Member you will be placed in the building farthest from the ocen and near a parking lot and Hwy. Our master bedroom had sewage smell from the bathroom and we had to call maintenance to flush the pipes. This resort is a slip and fall hazard for elderly. Pavement is un-even. My 83 Yoa Mother in law tripped over an electrical cord with a plastic cover over it by the pool. This cord is running over an open water source and hooks to a blender was in the middle of the pool on a small island (this blender was never used the entire week we were there). So this cord is not usually there. She split her lip open and cut the inside of her mouth. The resort paid for a one way cab to the hospital, but did not pay for anything else. A simple offer to pay the hospital bill, would have gone along way in customer service. then another issue with sewage smell, this time from my mother in-laws room of our three bedroom suite. Maintenance had to be called at 10 pm at night to flush the pipes again.
The lack of concern and customer service at this location will keep us and other other members, family and friends we know from ever going back to this resort.

A week before we visited, I tried to call the hotel to ask about their recommendations on transportation from the hotel to and from the airport. The were having some problems with answering the telephone. On the first call, the person could not speak English and hung up on me. The second call was answered but he did not know about transportation and referred me the concierge number that went to an answering machine. So I gave up for a couple of hours. I called Marriott and ask if they could get me a person that I could get the advice. They could not get through, but gave me an email address. I sent an email. But at 3:00 O clock a new concierge came on duty and called me back. She was a jewel. Her name is Guadalupe, not only did she give me the info I needed for booking transportation, she also offered to buy distilled water for me at a supermarket and have it for us when we arrived. And because of the difficulty that we had experienced with the telephone, she talked to Ana, the room controller and when we arrived Ana had a suite with a perfect view to the ocean for us. Ana was very professional. Having managed many people in my career, it is obvious that although Guadalupe is very important to how the visitors view this resort, she obviously has the smarts and the caring heart to take on major additional management responsibilities. Lastly, I want to compliment Rocio Nieto who works in the dinning room at Tomatoes. She makes each customer feel special and her capable management skills shown on Saturday morning as she quietly saw that each person was properly served. Rocio or our waiter Victor knowing it was last morning, surprised us with a serving of small squares of French toast with fresh fruit on it after they had cleaned our table. What a nice touch.

+1
A very beautiful resort located in between Cabo San Jose and San Lucas. Uber from airport was around $18.
Very friendly check in experience, although immediately ruined by timeshare sharks in the lobby.
Upgraded to a huge room with kitchenette, large dining table and living room, 2 bathrooms and balconies. This was really nice, all high end, well maintained, nice decor, fans, ac, absolutely no complaint. Could not be more comfortable.
Multiple pools, hot tubs, kids pools, clean beach, although very rough water, but you can walk around to a rocky area that has some tide pools suitable for kids. Very well kept grounds. Friendly staff.
I did have two negative issues:
Service in breakfast was slow and disorganized, I think they are understaffed. Friendly staff, but had to ask multiple times for items, refill, etc, unacceptable for an upscale resort. The food was good and view was great, just giving positive criticism.
No water in the gym, no water fountain or water cooler. I was told by attendant I had to go to restaurant to buy a bottle of buy a $12 water card? The gym is dark with low ceilings, a lot of worn out equipment squeezed into a room and no water.
Overall a nice stay.

Firstly, we are RCI members and this was our 2nd time here. Our first trip was in February 2015, shortly after the hurricane, it wasn't until we arrived this year that we realized how beautiful the resort truly is. The weather was a little cooler than usual but the trees and flowers were beautiful and abundant. The grounds are meticulously kept and the members' pools were heated so that you could walk right into them. They were not overcrowded, just perfect. We never had a problem finding loungers by the pool as the resort seems to have a handle on the saving situation. The beachfront is just gorgeous, with loungers and palapas available for members to enjoy, and the restaurant was rebuilt on the beach, made for great lunches! The timeshare sales pitch had something new this year, we received an invite to a wine and cheese degustation being held in the cellar at Pitahyas restaurant. We decided to take on the adventure and had a wonderful time, thank you ladies for making it fun!! The timeshare rep was professional and not pushy, so as promised, folks if you're interested in getting more info on a timeshare at Hacienda del Mar, see Manuel! Our friends used their restaurant credits to have a couple's dinner at Pitahyas the following night, after a little of a bungled start, (not ready for the reserved time whcih they pushed up) everything went very well and they really enjoyed their meal. A little pricey, but to be expected for fine cuisine! We were in a 3 bedroom unit, so lots of place and we had mostly everything we needed, except for a kettle, and although we asked twice for it, never did get one!! Our tea tollers were not happy but alas we boiled it the old fashioned way in a pot, LOL! Housekeeping was great, no complaints there.

We spent a lovely week at the Hacienda del Mar. Prior to arriving, we were a bit worried about covid and the precautions there. The hotel outdid themselves. The staff was all very cognizant and wearing masks, the pool lounges were distanced apart, and everything felt clean and safe. We also took part in the “meal plan,” option. Overall, we were very satisfied. However, there was a lack of information about what the plan included, i.e., if tip was included in the daily cost. The email reservation said service fee included, but once we arrived the staff told us that tip needed to be added. While we had no problems tipping, it would have been nice to have this information prior to arrival. In addition, while they took many precautions amid covid, it appeared strange that room service (clearly a safe option in terms of distance) is specifically excluded from the food options. This also was not told about ahead of time. Nonetheless, the hotel did an excellent job making us feel safe and welcome. The resort was clean and consistently sanitized. Our penthouse was immaculate and we felt very happy and safe. Highly recommend a visit, even amid covid!

We have been coming to Cabo for 15 years, with all of the stays at the Hacienda Del Mar. We didn’t know what the impact would be of removing Sheraton, but I can say firsthand that the experience and customer service is better than ever!
We were a little anxious about coming to Cabo during COVID but the hotel staff are better about masks than what we experienced in the US. They clean rooms, public areas, restaurants, pools, chairs, etc continuously and thoroughly. Most guests are also considerate with their masks. There have been fewer covid cases in Baja than our county back home.
The property is impeccable with gorgeous, well manicured gardens and well decorated rooms with beautiful ocean views and sounds. Our room was recently renovated and the hotel felt like it was a new build.
The hotel recently began to offer buffets again (served by staff) and our kids loved the Mexican nights with mariachi bands and dancers (again mask wearing). Food quality is excellent and the price points are fair given the value of the meals. The wait staff were so gracious and thankful for our visit as it’s clearly been a hard year for tourist dependent locations like this. But I truly have never felt more welcome and appreciated, and they made this a well needed respite from a terrible 2020 (and our first trip in a year).
I am not sure what was going on with the currents but the beach was 100% swimmable for everyone - old and young. Small gentle waves and currents with whale watching from shore as well as the daily turtle release which the kids loved.
Call outs for amazing service include Antonio and Adelina in Tomato’s, as well as Miguel and Daniella. Suar at the Burro taco bar, Tomas at the kids club bar and Ignacio at Sirenas. Some of these people have been here for 20 years which speaks volumes to the quality of the management team to find and retain great people that make the experience so wonderful.
We are already planning our next visit, which will be visit number #10!
