Sandos Finisterra stands out for its welcoming and dynamic atmosphere, complete with lively entertainment and elegant events, as noted by guests. Many travelers enjoy the resort's diverse amenities, including varied dining options and an exceptional spa, all set against a backdrop of stunning views. The hotel's prime location is frequently lauded, offering easy access to local attractions, although the nearby sea swimming is cautioned against.
While opinions on value vary, the cleanliness and service receive high marks for maintaining spotless facilities and providing warm, attentive care. However, some guests suggest the rooms could benefit from modern updates.

**Check-in and Arrival Vibe:** From the moment we arrived at Sandos Finisterra, the check-in was a seamless experience, with the staff exuding warmth and attentiveness. Even though we arrived early, our luggage was safely stored, allowing us to explore the nearby marina and shops, setting an accommodating and inviting tone for our stay.
**The Room:** Our Junior Suite was cozy and met all our needs, though some amenities could benefit from a modern touch. The standout feature was the 5-gallon water dispenser in the room, ensuring we always had water on hand. The bed was comfortable, and while the air conditioning worked well, we had to cover a bright light with tape to ensure a good night's sleep.
**Dining Experience:** The dining at Sandos Finisterra had its ups and downs. The poolside snack bar left something to be desired, but the resort made up for it with excellent dining elsewhere. Don Diego, the Mexican restaurant, was our favorite, with its authentic cuisine. Poolside, the fish and shrimp tacos were a delightful surprise, offering both taste and convenience.
**Pools and Beach:** The pools were clean, though a bit chilly for our liking, with the Mango Tango being a must-try at the Swim Up bar. The beach, while picturesque, isn't suitable for swimming due to unsafe currents. However, the adventurous trek to Divorce and Lovers Beach was well worth it for safe ocean swimming. Caution! This is dangerous
**Activities and Entertainment:** The evening entertainment was impressive for the small troop of performers, though the poolside music was occasionally too loud. The shows were enjoyable, but our early bedtime meant we didn't always catch the full performances.
**Service:** Service was one of the highlights of our stay. The staff, including the ever-helpful Alvaro at the bell desk, were attentive and genuinely seemed to enjoy assisting guests, not just for tips but for the sake of hospitality.
**Room for Improvement and Unexpected Impressions:** While the spa experience was unexpectedly luxurious, with a couples massage and chocolate-covered strawberries in the Jacuzzi, the snack bar could offer more variety to enhance the daytime dining experience.
**Final Recommendation:** I would wholeheartedly recommend Sandos Finisterra to others, especially those who appreciate a relaxed atmosphere with the convenience of being near the marina and Cabo's nightlife. It's well-suited for couples, families, or anyone looking for a balance of tranquility and entertainment in a resort setting.

We stayed at this resort with another couple from Feb 4 - 11, 2025 and had a great holiday. The resort is incredibly clean with large rooms and comfy beds/pillows. The fridge was well stocked daily and the room included a hot/cold water dispenser so bring an insulated container as this is a great way to reduce the use of plastic bottles. The soap/shampoo dispensers in the shower were difficult to use and of mediocre quality so I suggest you bring your own.
Alcohol selection at the bars was good however a full drink list via QR code and a "drink of the day" would have been a nice way to try some other cocktails. The food was very good although none of the restaurants offered a full salad bar. Lunch food at the Agave Restaurant was often overcooked and arrived cold so there's definite room for improvement.
The beach was gorgeous, with no vendors and we could watch whales breaching right from the shore. The resort also has a wonderful sea turtle protection program and we were lucky enough to watch the staff release of hundreds of baby sea turtles into the ocean. It's great to see a business investing in the preservation of their local environment. The pools were very clean and we never had difficulty getting a lounge chair.
Entertainment at the resort was average and believe it or not they still have a Michael Jackson show lol. They did a nice job for the Superbowl.
Access to the marina boardwalk is directly across the streets and offers many shopping and dining opportunities. You should check the cruise ship schedules online to avoid days they are in port as the crowds and prices increase significantly. We also recommend "The Art Walk" in San Jose del Cabo on Thursdays from 5 - 9 pm. Its a $40 Uber ride each way from the resort but is a great way to experience more historic part of Los Cabos with music, street vendors, shops and great restaurants.
Overall we would rate this resort as 4 stars with some room for improvement.

Extremely happy with our weeklong stay at Sandos Finisterra. Check in was a breeze with Mari at the front desk (who coincidentally seemed to to be on duty whenever we had a question during the week was always smiling super polite and helpful.) We saw at check in that they were going to give us a second floor room and we asked if she could give us a higher floor for a better view and she immediately accommodated without question Rooms are positively huge. We had a junior suite with a view of the pools up close and the beautiful beach and ocean beyond and a large balcony. If having a beautiful view is important to you then this is definitely the resort for you because relaxing out on the balcony and taking in the amazing view s positively intoxicating. This is and older hotel but it is extremely well maintained. We are cleanliness freaks and both our room and bathroom were immaculate upon check in and the maids worked very hard to keep them that way. No mold no musty smells no insects Beds /pillows were comfortable AC was fine and plenty of super hot water The food in the ala carte restaurants was very good and the buffets are better than you would expect in an AI resort. What we REALLY liked was no reservations necessary at any of the ala carte restaurants. We have been to several AI resorts in the past where you are having to go to some desk in the morning to fight for reservations and you end up having to eat at a weird time or get stuck at the buffet. Here you can come and go as you please and no one is pressuring you to order right away and they just let you order your drink and sit and relax and dine at your own pace. Shout out to Mario at Don Diego's in the morning. He was polite and personable and we enjoyed chatting with him each morning. One kind of shocking thing is that the house wine at Sandos is not only drinkable but actually very good which pretty much a first for us at any AI resort. We are wine people and know how difficult it must to select decent bottles within the cost constraints of an AI resort. Whoever in in food service/management who is making the wine choice calls thank you for having a palate and kudos because we appreciated you We like to work out every morning and there is a ultra modern nice gym with everything you could want and a beautiful view overlooking the marina One last positive about Sandos is the location. You are right next to the marina and just a few minute walk in to town. (Uber is very inexpensive if you want to venture farther) We stayed a whole week and ventured into town to try a couple of the local restaurants for dinner and also during the day to a couple of other beaches We found Sandos Finisterra to be a wonderful experience and a great value for the money and would definitely return and highly recommend the resort to anyone

This is our first stay with Sandos in Cabo. Having stayed with other resorts in Cabo and San Jose we were not sure what to expect. Now on our 7th day we could not be happier. Fishing was excellent (2 striped marlin) and excursions into town and surrounding attractions felt safe with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We used Uber several times and were not put off by having to walk to gate. Location of resort to Marina could not be closer. Staff were warm and courteous and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There is an observed pride in working at Sandos amongst the Staff and it shows. My Son had a medical mishap while fishing to which Sandos Medical Staff treated with professional care and follow up. Rooms are super clean and modern. Beds are medium firmness. Moving from our high end memory foam to this mattress left no negative results. Night life at the resort is great with shows nightly. Many people were return Guests and have watched shows multiple times. They are really that good! The staff is appreciative of tips, but does not sway in their service if tip not left. As a group of 7 we chose to leave tip of $5 for breakfast, $5 lunch and $10 for dinner, $5 per day for room, $1 for drinks. We found the food to be top quality with much variety. Our Canadian bellies were happy.
In all the hotels we have stayed at on Baja Sandos would be the best. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My wife and I attended some 20 presentations at various resorts from San Jose del Cabo to Cabo San Lucas. We knew that we wanted to spend 4 to 6 weeks in this area during our winter months and wanted to ensure that we chose the right location. Although several resorts were more worthy of our consideration than others, NONE even came close to impressing us so completely as did the Sandos Finisterra. 1st on the list is its location. It is centrally located in the nucleus of Cabo with absolutely everything being a short walk from the resort, yet sits nestled quietly on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. The facilities and grounds that surround the several pools, all exude class, without being ostentatious. They rather tastefully reflect the desert atmosphere for which this area is known. The several restaurants offer quality food tastefully prepared with room service being offered most any time day or night. Nicki, the gracious and hands on director, must be credited with choosing her staff carefully, as they are incredibly friendly and personable. They sincerely appear to enjoy what they do and create an atmosphere of wanting to do whatever they can to ensure that their guests are not disappointed.....even the maintenance personnel and grounds keepers greeted everyone in a friendly manner.
My wife and I are both seniors and are careful how we spend our pension income on non-essentials. Each year that we return to this resort, we are again reminded of the value we receive as Royal Elite members. (Our children and grand-children have also joined with us here and they enjoy it as much as we do as there are activities for everyone)

We enjoyed our recent stay here immensely. The service was beyond excellent. Special thanks to Arturo at Don Diego's, Yuki and Carmen with Activities, Norma at the Adult Pool and Francisco at the Lobby Bar for making the stay memorable. Nicki, the General Manager, was incredibly helpful as well. I cannot recall ever meeting any of the executive team at a resort, but Nicki is visible a good bit of the day. She assisted with a minor problem on our last day which just further enhanced our experience.
Any issues were minor. The Marina View rooms above the Plaza have a great view, but are loud at night, so not great if you like an earlier bedtime. Before 11:00 PM, expect to hear the nightly show and crowd noise. The advantage is that you can watch the show from your balcony. My wife had a few issues finding a good skinny margarita but found the best ones at Tortuga and Whale Watchers. Norma at the pool also made sure the margaritas were made properly when we asked about them. Food was very good, not spectacular, but enjoyable. Other than that, we accidentally locked ourselves out of our safe and maintenance was there in five minutes to take care of it. We had an AC leak on our last night. When we discovered it in the morning, they immediately sent someone to fix it. Nicki followed up and made sure we knew how long it would take to fix it to the point where there was no water leaking on the floor. She even offered us another room to shower and get ready for the airport in.
Not necessarily related to the resort, but we decided to go into town for dinner one night and found a great little place just past Cabo Wabo. It was called Misiones de Kino and is off the beaten path. Food was outstanding as was service. Pricing was very reasonable for Cabo.
Also, use Bernie Godoy for your travel and activities needs. He was prompt, friendly and knows the area well.
Best Eats we had - Smoked Marlin Tacos at Tortuga, Ribeye at Agave, Fresh Fruit at the breakfast buffet, El Pastor tacos at Don Diego's. These are just a few
Best drinks we had - Skinny Margaritas at Tortuga and Whale Watchers, Mezcal Old Fashioned at the Lobby Bar, Reposado and Pineapple Juice at the Pool Bar.
Best Service - Everywhere
Best Activities - Sushi Making, Tequila Tasting, Bingo
Tips - Take advantage of the Lobby Bar as it is often overlooked and has great cocktails. Hit Whale Watchers before dinner for a great cocktail with a view.

We just got home from our week long trip. It was our first time staying in Cabo but it won’t be our last!
Sandos Finisterra is a beautiful, well kept resort. There are amazing views of mountains, the ocean, and the marina.
We stayed in a marina view room and had 0 complaints. The room was clean and spacious. The mini bar was well stocked and they use a large jug of water instead of plastic bottles, so be sure to bring a reusable water bottle. We had one housekeeper named Kasandra who left us a kind note one day.
The food was incredible. There was always something for everyone. Don Diego’s for breakfast was delicious. Adi the hostess was very welcoming and could even recall our last name and room number without prompt after a couple days. Salazar the server at breakfast always had a smile on his face.
Emiliano’s was our favourite, but we never had a bad meal. On Wednesday nights they have a white party where you dress in white and it is a buffet on the beach. The fire show was amazing and here the general manager of the resort recognizes her staff which we really liked to see.
We spent most of the time at the adult pool with the swim up bar. Poolside servers Norma and Carlos always went above and beyond and kept our drinks filled. We also never had any issues getting a spot at the pool.
The entertainment staff at this resort made this trip so special for us. A huge shoutout to Carmen, Eve, Enrique, and Yuki. They definitely love their jobs and kept us busy. We admire how hard they work after working long hours everyday. We participated in the question of the day, tequila tasting, a walk to the swimmable beach, bingo, trivia, water aerobics, and the foam party. There were many more activities to try.
Although I didn’t recognize every staff member at this resort in this review, everyone’s hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed. Thank you to all the staff for making this an unforgettable trip!
Overall I would 100% recommend this resort and my husband and I will be back!

Imagine the prettiest sunset you’ve ever seen. Then, imagine sipping a piña colada as your feet wade in the cool water of the pool and a warm breeze brushes over your face, while you, relaxed as ever, smile ever so gently so as to take in the sweet bliss in Sandos Finisterra. The restaurant staff is filled with lively spirit, and they portray it in a beautiful and authentic manner; food. Shout out to Luis from the Agave restaurant including a personalised addition to our meal, as well as Alberto from the Tortuga Beach restaurant, for providing a dynamic and vibrant experience. The general staff are a friendly group of people, always ready to help. The property itself is squeaky clean, with a breathtaking view ready to calm all its audiences, and the food follows the same philosophy, made for all people, whether they be vegetarian or gluten free or prefer no alcohol. There are multiple pools, where the liquor flows as much as the water, while keeping a fun and family friendly atmosphere. I would recommend this place a million times, because when you come to Sandos Finisterra, there is only one thing you need to know how to say; Yes!

Our first all inclusive package holiday on the Pacific coast of Mexico. It’s a long way from the UK flying via Dallas on the way out and Los Angeles on the way back on a TUI package with 3 legs on AA and one on BA. The only hiccup was no taxi transfer arrived to take us to the hotel, so 100us$ fare which to be fair TUI reimbursed us within a few days (need to get a receipt from taxi hire). The Sandos is in a great location with views over the nearby Marina and sea views from our junior suite room. Rooms are spacious and functional if a bit tired looking, with massive beds. Food options are very good though sometimes food could have been a bit hotter. Buffet breakfast was very good with usual options and omelette/egg station. Mexican restaurant was just ok, but all the other restaurants were very good especially the steak in the Italian and beach bar Agave restaurants. The Wednesday white beach party food was very average I’m afraid. All the staff we interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful especially Armando, Antonio,Wilver and Elisama at the Agave. Off the nightly entertainment we loved the rock groups on Monday evening’s the best. We preferred to sit on the beach most days as pool areas get busy quickly. It’s a shame it’s too dangerous to swim off the beach as it is fantastic. Also no water sports offered because of this. We saw whales surfacing not far away each day and baby turtles being released into the sea on two occasions. There are very few UK people at the resort which is mainly US and Canadian guests. We found it could get quite loud and annoying towards late afternoon and evening unsurprisingly. Just got to get over the jet lag now home again.

Can’t say enough about our amazing time at Sandos Finisterra! We attended a family wedding (which was beautiful and perfectly executed); but the rest of the time was family vacation. First, we deeply value the resorts commitment to sustainability, and using only reusable/washable cups, plates, and no straws anywhere; because there was no plastic garbage to blow around, the beach and property was immaculate and clean. The food was excellent, as was the service and welcoming Sandos team. We especially want to thank Cruz, Luis, Georgina, and Jazmin (and Emiliano’s, Breakfast), and Cesar (Tortuga, Lunch) for making our stay so special and making sure our six year old was never left out of the fun! America (Royal Elite) was a true joy to meet, and we can’t wait to come back next year. Thank you to the whole team at Sandos!
