Waves crash along the rocks, sending salty spray into air warmed by brilliant sunshine. This centuries-old rhythm helped shape Cabo's Punta Ballena coastline, named for its resemblance to a whale's tail. You'll feel at harmony with the vivid sensations of Baja California-and with the Esperanza family.

Our stay at the resort in Cabo San Lucas was absolutely extraordinary! Our guest room not only matched the stunning photos but was also impeccably maintained, offering breathtaking ocean views. We spent several days indulging in the exceptional service throughout our visit. The spa provided a tranquil experience, and our massages were absolutely wonderful. The outstanding restaurants and refreshing pool added to the experience, where it was hard to tell where the pool ended and the ocean began. We spent several days here, and the service was exceptional. Every staff member was courteous and accommodating (Hola!), but the concierge service from Sebastian and Ruben was truly exceptional. They made our stay one of the most relaxing experiences we've ever encountered. With such remarkable service from the entire team, we'll certainly be returning to Esperanza!

The Esperanza Resort is exceptional. The service is top notch, the staff is so friendly & accommodating, the rooms are spacious with just enough old school Mexican elegance to feel like your having an authentic experience and not just any where in the world. The main restaurant Cocina Del Mar truly is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Mexico. The adult pool overlooking the sea is perfect in size, temperature & location. You are not getting a typical corporate pool experience, rather it feels like it was designed to accommodate the stunning landscape. We return yearly!

I’d give it more starts if I could. We had the PH suite with it’s own private elevator and the views did not disappoint. We could see whales in the distance from out room, beautiful sunsets. Room was spotless and romantic. Bathroom set up with the windows open to the hot tub was nice and the daily treats from housekeeping were a nice touch. More than enough space for 2 people. Cliff side restaurant is a must visit as is the Mediterranean but you have to try the pizza. I only have 2 irritations about this hotel. The automatic gratuity on everything (including your room) that they also then ask you for a tip on everything is a little excessive. Secondly, upon return home when getting my monthly credit card statement there was a in/out charge for $2500 which was not explained or authorized that then cost us $200 in foreign transaction fees. They said they would only take a security hold on check in, not an actual charge to my card.

This is one of the best resorts in Cabo.

Auberge properties always have the best food of any hotel in the world. Esperanza's cuisine is complex, nuanced and blended. A great example is when I ordered a Yuzu popsicle. I expected just a block of ice, and was pleased enough to get something elevated from lemon. However, the popsicle comes enrobed in white chocolate, with fresh mint, coconut, mangoes and cream. Always wonderful culinary surprises here. They also have a quiet coffee souffle on the menu that's flawlessly executed...Paris would be jealous.

Their kanpachi taco signature dish at Cocina Mar is a home run. Also, they use bluefin instead of yellowtail tuna in their ceviche, which makes all the classy difference here.

I recommend a la carte instead of the buffet breakfast. They still provide plenty of food, but that way you get to immerse yourself in the A+ level.

The property itself is set beautifully amongst the cliffs and rock outcroppings, with a double layer infinity pool overlooking the beach. The personal infinity jacuzzi's in the suites are a nice touch.

Small suggestions. The service had some issues, but they were quick to remedy. We did not like the music at Cocina del Mar, the singer sounded like flat karaoke, I recommend some chill beach Spotify instead. Also, would recommend individual, high end bath products at this price point, not the large, shared containers currently in the rooms.

We will definitely be back and recommending this to all.

The resort is one of the most extraordinary in Cabo San Lucas. The resident villas are very beautiful, well maintained, and have expansive ocean views. We have stayed multiple times and the service remains consistently extraordinary. All the employees are courteous and accommodating, but the butler service of Edgar is unparalleled. On top of the expected car rental and reservation assistance, he has saved us when having a late-night flat tire, and he is always anticipating anything we could need. Edgar makes magic happen, and it's this service that keeps us returning to Esperanza. .. that and those villas!

Honestly don’t know how this resort is rated so highly. For the price of room and cost of food etc, you may as well go to Hawaii or Caribbean. I booked a 3 bed casona with my centurion card for my mom’s 80th birthday on October 28. We had several unfortunate incidents during our stay and very little effort was made to resolve them appropriately.
The resort itself is beautiful, I was very excited when I arrived since I am often looking for resorts that can accommodate my large family whom I was traveling without for the first time. This experience quickly soured because our room smelled like bad sewage and this smell progressively got worse throughout the day. We were moved to a comparable, although newer, room on my mom’s 80th birthday but had to wait while housekeeping got it ready and by this point it was midday. During this time it was difficult for us to find chairs together or get service at the pool. In fact, we tried 3 different pools during our stay and had to actively seek chairs and then a waiter for service every time: I have stayed at the one & only before and never experienced this.
On the first morning in our new room, there were cockroaches in the master bathroom. Roaches!! We were on the 3rd floor and they sprayed something while we were out that morning as the walls were saturated with it when we returned from pickleball. Shoutout Mauricio!
For the rest of our stay, the large amount of bug carcasses that littered the hallway outside our casona stayed. This didn’t bother my family members so I just let it go as I am really starting to feel like a “Karen” at this point and I could sense my mom was getting upset that I was upset…There’s more, but I’m starting to get anxiety again (this trip cost $15k+) so maybe the joke is on me and I should get over it since there are people out there with REAL problems. However, after months of reading reviews seeking the best experience for my mom + my first time away from my kids, I wanted to let others know that I chose wrong. The Esperanza is a very nice property but don’t expect luxury or 5 star service.
For our troubles, they did offer us a free birthday meal and $1000 credit but prices are so high, $1000 didn’t even cover 2 massages (our nightly rate was over $2000.)

I booked a last minute vacation to relax and reset before the kids started school and the Esperanza didn't disappoint. What a beautiful well maintained property with attention to every detail. I was even upgraded to a lovely suite with a giant deck and infinity hot tub. I enjoyed the property so much I had no reason to leave, so I spent my entire trip onsite. I cannot wait to come back with my husband!!!

Right from the very beginning Sebastian was on top of it by helping with transportation to the hotel and giving me the lay of the land. Having been a concierge myself, Sebastian had the perfect balance of being helpful, attentive, easygoing, and accessible. The maids were also great lighting the candles in the evening and putting out the turndown local mini gifts. The spa is absolutely gorgeous and my treatment was a dream. I spent some time reading my book while soaking in the tubs. I never left the property and I enjoyed both pools. I even had an amazing cheeseburger on the beach. I forgot a few names, but the main hostess at the main rest. was always friendly and greeted me by my name every time I saw her. Also, I think it is the main bartender (I ate at the bar both nights) had a lot of food and drink knowledge and he even make me this special tequila drink that was so well balanced I bet someone who didn't even like tequila would love it. He also had superb knowledge of the hotel and its history.

This Villa is a dream come true! I have been to Cabo many times but this is my absolute favorite place to stay. The Villa is the perfect location over looking the beach and ocean with a ton of space, multiple rooms and beds and baths (even an outdoor shower), a casita, along with your own private pool, hot tub, golf cart and more! It’s easy access to the rest of the resort if you want to go to pools or restaurants which gives you the best of both worlds; privacy and the ability to be social! Jorge is the personal concierge for the Villa and he is absolutely amazing! He takes great care of you, is there to help with whatever you need at any time and is so caring! It doesn’t matter what time of day it is, he is there for any and all needs or questions! Hipolita cleans the villa each day and is so sweet, making sure you are always comfortable and have no worries on cleaning and having a cozy bed to get into at night. I strongly suggest having Estela and Jesus come cook you a delicious meal in house, it’s inexpensive and so delicious! You can’t beat the amazing sunsets and sunrises either (the first picture was taken from the master bedroom in the morning!) Truly a dream come true spot to stay! We can’t wait to return! Villa 204 is the place to stay in Cabo!!!!

My only complaint is that it’s impossible to want to go home because it’s so great!! 🤗

Truly a wonderful stay.

We brought our one year old with us and were very nervous about the proposition of traveling with a baby but staff were so incredibly accommodating — stocking our room with bottle warmer, bottle cleaner brush, crib, toys, soaps, and a high chair.

The food was excellent and much better than anything you would get at an all inclusive resort. Large variety of options at the breakfast buffet. Dinner at Cocina Del Mar was worth every penny (make sure to get the short rib fettuccini). Only slight gripe I might add was the $9 for a bottle of water at meal times. Felt like that should’ve been free given the same complimentary water was handed at the poolside and was stocked in room fridge.

All staff were incredibly professional, welcoming, friendly. The service, as everyone else mentions, is truly impeccable. Would like to especially recognize Mario as he was our personal concierge who we could text with anything we needed and he responded instantly. Everyone was aware of the AMEX Fine Hotel and Resort status and credits were applied seamlessly.

Would highly recommend this resort to anyone if it is in your price range. And if it’s not in your price range, I’d recommend splurging. You will not be disappointed. Epitome of a 5 star resort.

I've wanted to stay at Esperanza for years and finally was able to go for our honeymoon! It fully lived up to our expectations. The service was great and the property was immaculate. Such a relaxing atmosphere which was perfect for our honeymoon! All of the restaurants were delicious and the views here just can't be beat.

We stayed Sun-Thursday and we did enjoy how quiet the property was earlier in the week. As Thursday approached there were a couple wedding party groups at the hotel and the pools got a little louder and less relaxing. Wedding is big business in Cabo though, so I'm not sure this can be avoided at any resort on a weekend.

We also stayed at Las Ventanas on our trip which I've seen and heard referenced as one of the other top resorts in Cabo and in my opinion, there was NO comparison here. Esperanza was way nicer. Service at LV was great, but the property is quite dated. Esperanza has fabulous service plus the property, pools, rooms, & spa truly feel luxurious. It's 5 star all around. The amenities and small personal touches made it feel very much worth the cost.
