Montecristo Estates Luxury Villas is celebrated for its luxurious amenities like private pools and breathtaking views, which, alongside the staff's exemplary service, contribute to an enchanting atmosphere. Travelers have lauded the spacious, well-maintained villas and the property's prime location, perfect for group explorations.
However, some guests have noticed a dip in value due to rising food costs and extra fees, despite the overall cleanliness and room design receiving high marks.

Detailed Reviews
After reading that the the Cabo marina was opening to fishing on 6/16, we booked a 4 bedroom Montecristo villa for 6/17-6/23. We are owners and have stayed here many times and always love the comfort, beautiful old world styling, and the enjoyment of our private pool and hot tub that Montecristo provides. When we arrived to check in we had to each walk through a spray sanitation booth and all of our bags went through a sanitation as well. All staff wore masks and some guests wore masks but were not required to (in town, all workers wore masks and some establishments required guests to wear masks). Staff was diligent on every Pueblo Bonito (PB) property in having guests use hand sanitizer when entering a restaurant, area, or shuttle cart. Carts were wiped down between every group’s use.
Upon entering the villa, we could see and smell the extra cleaning measures that staff had taken throughout. We appreciate having a washer and dryer in the house for small loads throughout the week. Wi-if was reliable, even to the point that my son was able to easily continue an online class while here.
All of the Sunset Beach pools were open but only the Main Pool and Sky Pool were staffed with food and drink service. We also ate at Cebola, the Market, Quivira Golf Course, and poolside at PB Blanca on Medano Beach in town. More restaurants and services were opening each day while we were here. In an effort to minimize contact, all PB sites and most places in town were using an easy QR code scanning process to pay through your own phone. Most also used the QR code scanning to view menus as well. When we asked our PB servers they told us that while everyone is recovering from pandemic shutdown, tips were being shared by all wait staff. Many staff and even people in town expressed their appreciation that we (tourists) had decided to visit this area and help them recover from months of being closed for the pandemic.
Our concierge, Raul Galeana, as always, was so helpful and accommodating to our every question and need. This included arranging rides to town, dinner reservations on site and in town, golf reservations at Quivira, adjusting the temperature of our pool, making arrangements for pick up of fish we caught and had processed in town on our way to the airport, and even getting aloe spray for us when we got sunburned! He checks in with us briefly each morning and evening to see what our plans are and what he can do to assist us. While we are used to taking care of arrangements on our own through years of traveling to various destinations, it is such a pleasure to work with Raul and take advantage of the connections and expertise he has built up to make sure we get the best experiences for our time and money.
I can recommend Raul, Montecristo, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, and Cabo San Lucas without reservation for a relaxing and enjoyable family vacation!

We just returned from our stay at the Pueblo Bonito, Hacienda #3, which we rented from Judi Johnson.
We had an amazing vacation, this resort is huge and different from any we have been to in the past. We had one restaurant within walking distance. For the other resorts and restaurants, you called a van, they normally arrived 10-20 minutes after being called.
We did do the all-inclusive premium package and were glad we did. The food at this resort was amazing.
We did the time share presentation, we simply told our sales person at the end that we were not interested and that ended the presentation.
This home is beautiful, but, I must caution anyone thinking of renting, this home has lots of stairs. Anyone with small children or older people who might have issues with stairs, should know this.
The pool area was perfect for 8 people, we had amazing ocean views and saw numerous whales jumping and playing in the waves.
The bedroom situation is a little different than represented. The one upstairs bedroom only has a full bed, not a queen, and no closet, our friend’s husband slept downstairs in the “maid’s room” which had a twin bed.
It rained the second day we were there, the hacienda leaks, the power room was unusable that day, it also leaked in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms. When we called they brought us towels to put down. The leaks didn’t effect our vacation.
Room service is a great, for $5 (and a tip) we had food and drinks delivered to us.
We had our own concierge Eddie, he was great, he took care of making any necessary reservations at the restaurants for us. He stopped by to see if we needed anything and was just a text away.
This vacation rental is great, I would highly recommend it, the resort itself is amazing. A great economical option for large group or family.
I might add we always had lots of towels, soap and shampoo. The maid came daily. There is also a washer and dryer.
Remember that you are in Mexico, not at home, when you are in a foreign country things are not always what you are used to at home.

We traded our Welk penthouse at Sirena Del Mar in Cabo for PB Montecristo for the larger unit. It was fabulous. The grounds are immaculate, the staff extremely attentive and the unit was incredible. Two story with the upper/main level with the master suite and bath, large den and dining area, kitchen and half bath. Balcony with hot tub and patio dining and bbq grill extending the distance of the unit. Stairs inside and a set outside to the lower level that held a bedroom with 2 dbl beds and full bath, a 3rd bedroom with king bed and full bath and a den with sectional AND sleeper sofa. All rooms face the ocean and have sliding doors to private patio with lounge chairs and your private infinity edge pool that overlooks the ocean. It was breathtaking. You have full daily maid service and personal concierge. You can shuttle for free within the massive complex with various restaurants and pools, or over to the other PB resorts downtown, The Rose and Blanco, where you have full access to the pools, beach and restaurants. We did 3 days of the All Inclusive only because we did the presentation. Normally I would not recommend the all inclusive prices to pay beforehand. Unlike other all inclusive's they allow for tips, which we did each time, and we ended up overeating, overdrinking and still spent quite a bit of money! Lol Pueblo Bonita Sunset Beach, Palmiera (?) and Montecristo are tucked away in a very secluded and gated area a few blocks off (not walking distance) from the downtown/marina area, however, we had a rental car and shuttles are offered for free at the resort.

We wanted to travel despite the looks, and concern of family and friends. We chose the Montecristo Estates in Cabo San Lucas, and after we wish we could have went back a year ago and just locked ourselves down at the Montecristo.
The resort including Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, it's sister resort, where we ventured for some additional food options, had more COVID precautions in place than I have going to my local supermarket.
I had no problems boasting to my family and friends who were concerned about us traveling durig a pandemic, Pueblo Bonito did it right.
Their staff all wore masks, I wonder if they were sprayed on. You could see the cleaning and airing out of rooms after checkout. Entering the resort you had to spray down and even your luggage was sprayed down. Hand sanitzer was available everywhere, including personal use containers in your room to take with you. And the hand sanitizers were filled, I have been to my supermarket and the cleaning supplies and/or hand sanitizer stations were empty.
The grounds were so clean, you could tell the staff took great care prior, and during our stay to use down time to keep things up and improve the resort. They were using Tablets with QR codes for transactions at pools to allow for Touchless interactions.
Our villa was beautiful, with wonderful views - 300 degrees of Ocean views. It was remarkable. We have decided we will always add a week to our usual week trip to Cabo and stay at the Montecristo. We hope to bring family and friends down our next trip.

House keeping went into my purse that was in the closet and into my wallet and stole about 800 dollars all while we we’re in the pool, right outside!!! Raul, our “personal concierge” took a report and said he’d reach out the next day. Never heard from him about it. He didn’t seem very friendly or helpful from the first day. Our greeting was him saying it’s 5 dollars every time we order something to our room and do not order more than 4 drinks at a time. Keep in mind the fridge has no water, pop or anything and walking anywhere isn’t a option unless your looking for a 20 minute walk one way in the Cabo sun. Depending on where your villa is. We also asked Raul if we could get dish soap he said he would have someone bring that, never came.
The property is beautiful and the view is amazing but could definitely use some upkeep. The titles in the pool were falling out, serval lights were burnt out, loose door handles, and stained comforter.
We’ve stayed at the sister property, the Pacifica, 3 times before and to say the service has greatly declined is an understatement. We had a couple friendly waiters who were great but had several wait staff at restaurants seem rushed, annoyed and almost as if they don’t want to be bothered.
We’re in our early 30s and it was just my fiancé and I. Not sure if we we’re treated differently because we look young and they made assumptions. We’re both in customer service and tip well, even the cleaning lady who stole my money got a 20 dollar tip the day before!

We had an amazing vacation and everyone throughout the resort provided top notch service. We did the premium all-inclusive plan and the food and drinks were great although we were surprised that many of the wines were not included. We loved Roman the shuttle driver, Rafael from room service and Eunice at the pool who provided us with fun activities. Housekeeping was great with the villa cleaned well daily and we loved having our own pool with room service brought there at our request. The only reason I can't give 5 stars was the condition of the villa. We became members last year and during the sales pitch were assured that they all were just like the beautiful brand new villa they were showing off. Our villa was very rin down. There were screws in the wall where something was once hanging that they simply painted over, cracks in the walls, knobs missing on the oven, stainless steel finish peeling off the dishwasher, rust on the washer and dryer and stucco trim falling off in the back. The remotes for the TVs never worked and the wi-fi upstairs was very poor. We didn't let any of this keep us down and still had a great time, it was just a little disappointing since our expectations had been set so high.

Tripp began February 20th to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico at the Pueblo Bonita resort. We had a three bedroom two story Villa with private pool and hot tub. A full kitchen and with the all-inclusive package had access to over 20 restaurants within the companion resorts that were available. A highlight of our trip was purchasing fresh fish at the marina dock, bringing it home and having it grilled on the provided Weber grill that supplied in each Villa. We especially like the Japanese restaurant and if you ever find yourself there, ask for Ruben, one of the best service people I have encountered in all of our travels.
As an added note, covid-19 tests were provided by The resort which complied with the 3-day minimum requirement prior to entering back into the United States. I quite honestly felt safer there based on their constant sanitizing along with mandatory wearing of masks then quite frankly in my own country. With reference to air travel on both American and United airlines masks were mandatory during the flight and were strictly enforced. The only downside to the trip was our visit to the steakhouse. Two and a half hours for dinner and the service quite frankly was really very poor. The prices were really very high. However, I should honestly say that we are planning a third trip next year. Give it a try you'll love it

Just returned from Pueblo Bonito Montecristo (7.14.20). During our entire trip the resort did a fabulous job of implementing safety guidelines and sanitary protocol.
We felt comfortable during our entire trip and had no concerns. The concierge hostess Karen provided us excellent service and was so responsive to everything we needed during our stay. The waitstaff provided exceptional service (while maintaining appropriate distance and mask protocol). The spa services were great both messages and facials. The golf course was also in perfect condition.
The QR code’s for menus and paying bills created a safe touch less environment.
Came back well rested and destressed. Strongly recommend the property!! We will go back soon.

We enjoyed our week’s stay during Thanksgiving! Upon arrival, you enter a “phone booth” to sanitize your bags and then yourself to eliminate any chance of carrying the virus! The Pueblo Bonito Compound has the same system to insure a safe environment while you hop from place to place.
Our villa was exquisite with unobstructed views of the sunset. Our concierge, Raul Galeana, is a professional concierge that rivals only those at the finest resorts. His attention to detail is beyond reproach. Raul stops by our villa each day to ask what plans we have and what we want to do. He always makes it happen! From booking dinner or activity reservations, to making vet appointments or picking up laundry detergent, Raul is without a doubt the BEST! He makes me feel like a Queen! The service thru out the entire resort is unparralled, thanks to the new general manager
of Montecristo. The staff really excels in service. Our maid, Beatrice, was absolutely wonderful. She always had a beautiful smile on her face each day. She was very thorough and did a wonderful job. She brought tears to my eyes, when she knitted two beautiful scarfs for by husband and I. Room service was spectacular! Food was hot upon delivery and beverages were still cold. Great job! When it was time to check out, Raul was at our door to complete the process. No need to go to the club house. If you are looking for a spectacular place to enjoy a safe and relaxing vacation, please check Montecristo. Pampering is priceless!!!

Hello Cheryl, we sent you a private message. We look forward to your reply. Best regards.
We have stayed here many times and have never had problems with theft. Eac villa has a safe in the room. Some of the villas ar definitely looking tired. (Lights burnt out, broken, etc) But the view is amazing and it’s great having your own pool. The staff are usually fairly attentive to addressing any issues.
