Great resort and a lot of fun for the family. All the amenities that are listed in the website are indeed true to form, in addition to some great new additions (massive blow-up platforms in the main lake area).

Super fun and so much for old and young to do. Very large park however if you are not camping near the main slides area, you may want to plan ahead and rent a golf cart as we did, otherwise you will have no problem getting your steps in.

Only issue we seen, and this is the same from this trip we just got back from, in addition to our visit last year, is that there seems to be a bit of special allowances given to the Seasonal renters vs week-long or weekend renters in regards to overall rules enforcement with aggressively loud music and the "policing" of speeding or reckless driving in golf carts. With regards to Music we stayed in the Quarry Ridge area and were fairly close to middle, and one of the seasonal's was blaring their music insanely loud. With quiet hours starting at 11 it was moderately turned down then, but the bass was still deep and present. This was a similar instance to last year where at 2am I had to call security who very reluctantly came down to 'Have a listen'. Also some of the driving abilities of the 18 year old seasonal' s are very aggressive (and well under the age limit of 18 to drive a golf cart there) and numerous times saw security drive right past them without batting an eye.

Other than that it is a good place to visit and have fun.

Sherkston Shores is not what I remember from the last time I visited. It was very busy, and not as peaceful/restful as I would have hoped. The beach was crowded. The waterpark was a waiting in line nightmare.

We stayed at a trailer in July 2021. It was a private rental and, I can assure you, I will never do again. If you are thinking of getting a rental, PLEASE go through Sherkston Shores directly, not through private rentals.

The trailer was ok, nothing special. However, the owner left renters no space for their own stuff, all drawers and cabinets were completely full of their own stuff. Freezer was stocked full of their own food. The golf cart that we paid extra for barely worked and made loud jittery noises the entire time we drove it.

The check out though - that was where it all soured. The owner had a long page of all the things we had to do to ensure we got our deposit back. We cleaned that trailer up and down. It was cleaner when we left then when we found it, I can promise you that. We swept and washed the floors. We swept and cleaned the patio. We removed "fingerprints" from the sliding door and windows, etc etc.

Now...everything would have ended just ok there...but no, we had a battle of words for says after over items that they claimed were "taken" from the trailer. Some people rent because they need the money and not because they like renting, and it shows.

The facilities are pretty decent and the activities are pretty good but overall this place is way too busy. Not from a Covid standpoint but in general. There are way too many people on this resort for the amount of facilities there are and apparently they are building even more. Beach is decent but you will be on top of people and that is if you can get a spot by 10am. Beware of teenagers and golf carts everywhere. This is golf cart city. Have to keep an eye on small kids at all times. This is a haven for teenagers who think they are the coolest thing on earth because they drink and blare terrible music on there golf carts all day and night. Security is a joke in this place as well, it’s kids with badges. Beware of checkout time. We were just literally finishing packing our car to leave when a cleaning lady came by and was pretty rude and told us you were supposed to be out by 10. It was 10:20 and we were literally just sweeping the cottage to leave it as we found it, making her job easier and they charged us for leaving after checkout time. Not impressed, definitely won’t go back and won’t recommend to anyone either.

Stayed at the Sherkston for a birthday weekend with the family. It was our first time and we all had an amazing time. Our 2 bedroom premium cottage was perfect for 5 adults and 2 toddlers. It was a pleasant surprise when there was a 2 piece washroom in the main room which also had a walk-in closet. Cottage was spacious and lots of storage space. It was well equipped with whatever you need for cooking. The resort had a lot of amenities for everyone to enjoy. We enjoyed the rented golf cart which you need to bring your stuff to the beach. We would definitely return. Everyone observed social distancing.

We booked a last minute get away with our RV close to quarry beach. The positives; Quarry Beach was lovely, soft sand and consistent water though it was extremely weedy. For what they charge they could scale back on the weeds a bit.

The atmosphere was a little too party for my tastes with a lot of rude people and foul language. Not the resorts fault but definitely a deterrent.

The biggest turn off for me was the golf carts. It isn’t safe to do any serious walking because there are golf carts everywhere and no enforced road rules for them. They drive on pedestrian walk ways to get around speed bumps and zip around with drivers openly drinking. If you want to go any where you have to rent one or drive (80$ a day or 500$ for the week)

I get that some things had to be adjusted for covid but why are water slides closed? If the indoor water parks can figure it out what is your excuse?? If you can’t sort it out then adjust you exorbitant rates accordingly. Why have every playground open except for the really cool 3 story one?

Also be prepared to be charged through the nose for everything. They have figured out how to get all the things you have to pay for open that’s for sure.

Ultimately we had a nice time but it just wasn’t worth the cost.

We cut our vacation short and left after the second night. The resort has more of a spring break vibe to it than a family resort. We barely slept during our first night because the neighbouring cottagers were partying till 2am, music blaring, singing, yelling, screaming. Security was too busy with more urgent issues than to deal with noise complaints. We saw so many golf carts packed with young adults, open alcohol everywhere throughout the park. There was no visible presence of security anywhere.

The beach is very nice but it can be a long walk if you don’t have a golf cart (those rent at another $85 per day). At the quarry, the kids wanted to play on the inflatable water park, that was $25 per child for ONE hour! With all the extras that you would need to have to fully enjoy the resort, it really isn’t good value for the money.

We left disappointed, we had been looking forward to this holiday for months. At least the customer service was understanding of our concerns and refunded us the nights we didn’t stay.

Was very disappointed at the poor level of quality and professionalism of practically everyone I dealt with there. We rented a trailer from the resort directly and paid $1800 almost for three nights. trailer had barely any hot water, no air-conditioning in the back bedroom made it unbearable to sleep in there
the staff woke us up to out of the three mornings at 6 in the morning as our trailer backed onto the maintenance yard and they were sitting out side with music going smoking cigarettes having a coffee and never even said sorry when we asked them to turn it down
We rented a golf cart at $85 a night which seems crazy expensive for the rental of a golf cart per day that we couldn’t even take down to the beach as it was not big enough and would get stuck. Had to wait 45 minutes to get into the pool as the COVID rules were making so that there could only be a certain amount of people at a time which made sense. although the two girls that were working the entrance never bothered to tell anyone in line but if you leave to go to the bathroom but you have to let the lifeguards know so they don’t think you’re leaving when we went to come back from the bathroom they were trying to make us wait another 40 minutes to get into the pool.
When I spoke to the manager at the pool and indicated that the two girls should be doing a better job and not staring at their phones all day while they’re being paid to do their job and never got an apology from them either and she had the nerve to tell me that I was making a big deal over nothing.
When I relayed all of my complaints to the management at the front office and ask for a phone call to get an explanation of why we are having to put up with the ridiculousness of everything no one got back to me at all and after three more attempts I gave up.
Too bad as it is a beautiful area and property but the management was the worst I have ever seen in pretty much every aspect other than the exception of Boston pizza where we ate twice and was very pleased with the service and quality.

Sherkston is a great place for kids - great amenities all in one spot and great beaches. I’ve been there a few times, but this time wasn’t pleasant (July 2021). There were long lines, crowded beaches and very loud music (teenagers).

First of all the line up to get into the pool/waterslide area is long. They allow 200ppl due to covid protocols.

Tip#1: Get there an hour before.

You need a golf cart to get around! The golf cart rentals from properties are too expensive about $100 each day. Our cart ignition was finicky and there was a sticker not to pass a certain point, my husband looked at and fixed it. The owner didn’t see an issue because I think they wanted to “ding” us for it.

Tip#2: Inspect your golf cart make sure everything is working.

We stayed in a private rental - 17 Mallard
The pictures were very nice, however they made adjustments during the spring and I wasn’t made aware until closer to the date. They took away the bunk beds, made it a loft bed and made the second bed bigger however it was claustrophobic and you can hit your head on a mini ceiling that tuck the bed in.

Before our stay, I get a phone call to indicate that I had to pay an additional resort fee. I agreed to it

On the first day, I had issues with checking in as Sherkston didn’t have my name in the system. So the process took about an hour and half.

I noticed that there was a “RING” video doorbell. I wasn’t too happy to see that because I strongly believe in having privacy.

The owner left a list of things that we had to do when we left, which was “over the top” especially that I paid an a cleaning fee. There was no Windex to wipe down finger prints on the sliding door or an all purpose cleaner, plus there was no scrubber for the frying pans (lucky I had one).

Tip#3: Always bring extra toilet paper and paper towel.

I felt like the owner wanted to find something wrong. We cleaned the trailer very good, probably better than when we arrived. The day we left, at 9pm I get a phone call to indicate all the things that was wrong and a missing blanket. Well the “expensive” blanket cost us some of our deposit. In all my years of renting, I’ve never had this happen.

Tip#4: Take photos after you clean up and itemize. Look at your contract and make sure it sits well with you. I knew from the beginning that the owner was looking to find away to gain something from the deposit.

For a blanket, the owner lost a repeat renter and I will never recommend this place to anyone.

This was our third year in a row returning to Sherkston. Every year our group gets bigger. This year we had 6 trailers booked in Evergreen. We always book the same wheel chair accessible trailer #81 for ourselves as my husband is disabled and we always feel so comfortable there. I notice some new items added to the kitchen inventory this year which was nice.
The BBQ and firepit is quite difficult to access in a wheelchair from this particular cabin as its really narrow between the trailer in front and theres some kind of post in the way so my husband has to wheel around onto the road and behind 2 other trailers to get there. Perhaps this is something to improve on for better accessability.
I spoke to management and posted reviews in previous visits about increasing beach access for wheelchair users by providing beach mats or ramps somewhere. I did not notice any action or improvement on this this year which was dissapointing. So many Ontario beaches offer the beach mats now and it really wouldn't be hard to have one installed on the quarry beach. I really hope this is considered as we have once again booked to come back again next year. We feel the park is great value for money with fantastic amenities for the kids. The staff were exceptionally good with followong all the new COVID protocols and we felt in good hands. I was especially impressed with life guards at the pool. All young girls but very good at their job, one of the kids in our group was rescued from the water on Sunday and I could not of been more grateful and impressed with their professionalism.
I also noticed an improvement on security around the park and not so many teenagers buzzing around on golf carts late at nite as in previous years, seems to be way more under control which was good to see.
I would like to see a life guard sitting at the dock / platform at the quarry lake where everyone jumps off. There was some out of control kid's getting a bit rough and unsafe with no parents around which ruins it for everyone else and is of course a safety concern. Other than that though the quarry beach is our favorite place to hang out we just love it there.
I thought the check in and check out procedures were extremely well done and improved this year especially with all the COVID protocols in place, it was handled very well.
All in all another great family weekend spent and we will continue to return. I just hope accessability suggestions will be addressed eventually.

We camped with our own trailer at the Quarry, sites are close together as expected in a private campground. We stayed from Sunday to Saturday. We came here so the kids could have a resort experience. They did enjoy the water slides, pool, arcade, swimming in the quarry and doing the Splash works course. At this location we managed without a golf cart as it's a short walk to the pools and Family Activity Centre. We only went to the Lake Erie beach once as it's further and the kids were satisfied with the other activities. Our first two days it was raining but we took advantage of this and went on the water slides. There were no lines! There are daily activities posted but we didn't do any of them as we had plenty to do. There is quite a bit of extras that cost extra, be prepared to spend more or you will be saying no a lot. We did do the Splash Course, trampoline, rock walk and the arcade. (Which a cost more, our pool pass was included in our original camp fees, watch for sales. We booked with a Black Friday deal) A carnaval came but we did not do that. We enjoyed our stay here but I give 4 stars because it was noisy. Quite hours are not respected. The weekend nights were the loudest,Sunday of the long weekend I heard music etc until 2:00 AM. The following Friday, people were yelling repeatedly after midnight. The washrooms also were dirty, not the resorts fault but disrespectful guests. There appeared to be a toilet paper fight as globs of tissue were everywhere in the ladies washroom. Perhaps switch out the taps as two have mold in them giving a gross feeling to the washroom. For an upscale camp resort I expected more visible security and more cleanliness. The beaches should be picked for garbage daily. There was goose poop and garbage on the beach that I passed by days in a row. The pool area, was clean.
We did see some wildlife here fish and a Screech owl in the wooded area by the Quarry transient sites.
