The best aspect of this hotel was the extremely welcoming and helpful staff. We felt very cared for. The included breakfasts were delicious. The room was quite comfortable and the AC was excellent! The staff also helped us arrange excursions and taxis. The location is on a quieter street yet still an easy walk to the city center.
That hotel need a lot of improvements and the people who work very nice by the policies from the hotel they are Barry auto contact an example the rooms don’t have no character no ambience they are very boring first thing coming in they’ll tell you turn it off the air conditioner when you live in the room when you have temperatures of one on one or 95 they are very very little contact because when you go out and you come back the room is going to be hot another thing they ask you a night before why you go to eat for breakfast next day according to the people working there as to have the breakfast ready for you but they were not ready there were people cooking and the time when you arrive to see down the rooms the majority of the rooms don’t have no windows very dark no personality no ambience and definitely I’m not planning to go back to that place again…
We stayed for a week at this lovely updated hacienda-style hotel in the historic central section of Merida. Our upstairs room had two beds and lots of room -- it was on the street side but was actually nice and quiet. The shower was especially great, with lots of hot water and lovely Mexican tile. We ate breakfast most days at the hotel, which was served in the courtyard, and we really enjoyed the fresh fruit, freshly-squeezed orange juice, toast, and eggs. The staff were tremendous; very friendly and helpful and many spoke good English. This was the perfect location for walking to the Plaza Grande, Parque Santa Lucia and other sights, and accessing the Paseo. We took one of their in-house tours to Uxmal, the Chocolate Museum, and a local cenote, which included an excellent guide. We would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it enthusiastically!…
We opted to get a room with two beds on the second floor, which was quite spacious and light. It was also away from the downstairs hub bub during breakfast. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom attractive with plenty of hot water (although as in other places we stayed, the water has to run a little while to get hot). I liked that there were lots of places to put things, and the room was a pleasant place to retreat to at the end of the day. There were several outdoor seating areas, which we took advantage of since I sleep a bit later than my husband, who jumps on his computer early. The location is quite good, within easy walking distance of the main square, Paseo del Montejo Avenue, and many restaurants. One in particular, just down the street called Urban Bistro is a find! We ate there twice in our three days in Merida. We had a couple issues with the breakfast - not getting our orders right, and not very good coffee. The staff are lovely and very helpful - several speak very good English, which was helpful.…
The hotel was in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the Centro. Many restaurants and souvenir stores nearby. The hotel itself was quiet and private. The staff were friendly and helpful, made the whole experience feel like we were at home. Breakfast was simple but it was just what we needed to get going for the day. The next time we come to Merida, this will be our top choice!
