Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Live Aqua Cancun is celebrated by guests for its pristine cleanliness and diverse atmosphere that caters to both serenity-seekers and those looking for lively entertainment. The rooms are lauded for their comfort and cleanliness, though some guests note occasional issues with temperature and noise.
While the hotel's location is deemed perfect by many, close to shopping and beaches, there are remarks about the added costs diminishing the overall value. Service, however, receives high marks for its attentiveness and personal touches, and the amenities, including the spa and dining options, are frequently described as indulgent and exceeding expectations.

Hotel's Favourite
We had another fantastic trip to Live Aqua later in December. The magical Christmas touches are everywhere. The weather was perfect with no rain and very pleasant temperatures. It is the perfect time of the year to visit this beautiful luxury resort.
A few of the things we loved:
Greenery: This resort has lots of tropical greenery which is not common right in Cancun. It really makes it feel extra special. There are flowers, palm trees and so much more.
Location: It is close to the airport and few minutes walk to great shopping.
Beach: the beach at Live Aqua is definitely the nicest stretch of beach. It is very long and never feels crowded. There are some lovely hammocks which were in use quite a bit on this trip. The beach bar is another plus. They have added even more cabanas on the beach. They work very hard to keep their beach healthy and happy. They have achieved Blue Flag Certification!
Pools: The pools are lovely and practically on the beach. No long walks from the pools to the beach. Most of the long stretch of pools are quiet and relaxing. The swim up pool to the far left (if looking at the beach) is separate from the more relaxing pools. They play louder music and it is more lively. There is some music at the other pools which is more relaxing. Signs indicate no personal speakers around the pools though of course you can listen with your ear buds etc. The infinity pool is breathtaking and a wonderful place to cool off while watching that gorgeous ocean.
Cabanas: We love that this resort has cabanas and lots of them. Cabanas (roof) are for rent or come with a suite ( Viento, Tierra, Aqua, Fuego or presidential). The bali beds ( no roof are for anyone with no fee. The only exception are the row of bali beds along the long pool which are for rent or with a suite. They have added more cabanas which is great for those really wanting more sun protection and extra comfort.
We love that there are so many areas to choose from …on the beach, to mid way and around all of the pools. Food can be served at the cabanas mid way and around the pools. Drinks are served in all areas. Food is not permitted on the beach for environmental reasons. They have a Blue Flag Certification!
Dining…
We really enjoyed the breakfast at Azur. The buffet at Siete is fantastic as well and it is nice to have the Azur location for a la carte. We also love the small breakfast buffet at the Aqua Club. It has the most beautiful views and has everything we need. We just can’t eat a huge breakfast, lunch and dinner!! We didn’t do room service breakfast on this trip but we will on the next one!! It is always incredible.
There are so many wonderful lunch options at this resort.
We love Varenna for lunch ( and dinner). I feel like many people miss this spot for lunch.
The grill and the hamburger/hot dog cart are great as is the pool menu.
Both Azur and Seacorner are practically on the beach and the food is excellent!
They also serve paella a few times a week.
We never have room for a crepe it seems but the cart is out by the entrance door near Aka Bar around 4.
There is also a sushi bar that opens at 5.
There are some things to eat at the Starbucks café and all is included.
I always check the other side of the entertainment sheet when looking for the hours for restaurants and bars. Sometimes one may be closed for a night so for those planners like me, it helps to check which are closed on a night. They sometimes have a Mexican Fiesta with a huge buffet by the pool weather permitting. Also the same happens for circus night. Things do change each week so checking the schedule is a must.
We tried the new menu at Siete this trip and it was really good. Badal the manager there is so wonderful and helped explain the menu. They have a salad bar, soup etc to start and you order the main course. There are desserts at the buffet as well.
We had a fabulous meal at Mb and it was so very nice to have Chef Wilian back!! He always does an incredible job!
We enjoyed Varenna for two of our meals and highly recommend it. They have a new chef and the food is fantastic.
Hidden Garden is always a beautiful spot for dinner and we enjoyed every single bite! We missed Azur for dinner this trip. We had room service twice!
There is also an outdoor taco spot in the evenings where the BBQ is located.
No reservations are required for dinner. If you have a butler ( Aqua Club as well as with a suite) you are able to have them make reservations. That is a great perk for those not wanting to wait to get in. If you go early there is usually no wait but if you go at peak times you may. We always try to go to MB mid week when it is less busy. Many people come for a short stay on the weekends.
Entertainment:
There are many things going on every day. The key is to make sure you have the entertainment sheet (comes out each Monday) so that you don’t miss anything if you like to keep busy.
There is everything from yoga, bingo, several live music sessions, water aerobics, beach volleyball, bracelet making, casino, Mexican Fiesta, circus, DJ, karaoke, music trivia and much more. Be sure to check out the locations of each activity. Things can change each week. They are always trying new things!! When I read reviews that there isn’t any entertainment and I wonder where people are staying haha. There are things happening all day and evening. It is not a huge party resort but there are so many things happening. They aren’t constantly yelling over microphones so you do need to go to the activities. The evening events are in different spots so you do need to check your schedule for locations. There is a bar on the pool level as well as one on the lobby level. A few things happen outside in the evening so check locations.
Aqua Club:
We had Aqua Club access so we were able to check in and check out here. The staff are so helpful. Daniel we have known for years now and he takes such wonderful care of us! We often have a light breakfast here. It is very quiet and the views are incredible. It is a great place to catch the sunset and to have a wonderful drink prepared by Guillermo.
If you have Aqua Club access you will also have butlers. They communicate through What’s App. You are able to book dinner reservations, request some favorites in your fridge etc. They will do anything possible to make your stay the best it can be.
Staff: The staff really make this resort special. They are friendly, kind and work incredibly hard. It amazes me at how many staff have stayed at this resort. Having traveled to many other resorts through the years we know that staff move often. We are always impressed at how many remain here and several staff that have left on a positive note, have returned.
Cheers to all of the staff at Live Aqua and here are a few mentioned below!
Huge shout out to Alfredo, Eliud, Deivid M, Ashley, Graciel and his team, Jonathan C, Luis, Monserrat
It was great to meet Sebastian who is assisting Ashley! He fits in perfectly.

Foot massages are the absolute best. Thank you to the two wonderful gals!!
Butlers…Sakny, Rodrigo…. These two did a fabulous job! They really are on top of things and we appreciate everything they did each day for us! They were able to make dinner reservations, add our favourites to our fridge, answer any questions etc. Sakny was able to get our clock fixed. Rodrigo was on top of getting our favourite beverages and snacks in our room. If you have never been to Live Aqua before, your butler with show you around your room and explain all about the resort. They will send you updated entertainment info and restaurant info as well.
Pool/beach servers… Cesar took fantastic care of us the entire week!! We have known him since we first visited LA. We loved chatting with David Gomez, Aminael, Ale, Marysol, John, Jonny, Roosevelt and many others
Bartenders…so many that took care of us…extra thanks to Manual, Florintino, Eli, Crescencio
Restaurant: Badal, Susana, Adrian, Efrain, Roy, Cesar, Marcelo, Jovany, Eduardo, Adrian, Helvert, Oscar
Chefs ….Wilian and Antonia welcome home!! So wonderful to see you again!
Also Damri was the hostess at Verenna during our trip. She is such a sweetheart!

We just returned from our 3rd stay at Live Aqua (2014, 2017, 2020) and we couldn't be more pleased with our decision to return. During the middle of a pandemic, it is not an easy decision to decide to travel for leisure, and to decide where to go and feel safe. From our prior experiences at Live Aqua, and reading recent guest comments, we were convinced that the best possible vacation getaway would be to return to Live Aqua; it's like returning home. They are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of their staff and guest at all times. We observed employees in every space of the hotel consistently wearing 3 layers of PPE (medical mask, eye goggles, and plastic face shields). They are gently offering hand sanitizer to guest at every location on the property, and sanitizing every seating location after each guest (both the table and all chairs). No one enters your room except you and your daily housekeeper, who does deep sanitization during the daily cleaning. Room service and any other request comes to your door and stops theirWe actually felt more safe on the property at Live Aqua than we feel going to the store or to a restaurant here in Atlanta, Georgia. From the moment I sent an email noting our pending return, I began receiving amazing service and communications from Monserrat Villarreal. When Live Aqua says "Your Wish My Wish" they truly mean it. Monserrat prearranged spa appointments prior to our arrival, reserved dining for our first two nights, and provided every advance detail that we might have interest in during our stay. She was also there in the lobby to greet us upon our arrival. This is exception service, as we are not Fiesta Club Members. We are just avid travelers that are loyal to the many properties around the world that have been amazing host over the years. Since our visit in September 2017 the hotel has gone through a renovation/upgrade, and the rooms are beautiful and modern, with many Smart Room features added. Was hasn't changed is the genuine staff. They are amazing people who clearly love accommodating people. I must mention a few specifically. Christian in MB Restaurant is an attentive and warm head waiter who delivers excellent personal service. We had the pleasure of being seated at one of his tables on two different nights. Oscar at Siete Restaurant is not only a great waiter, but has an excellent baritone voice that beautifully sang happy birthday to my wife; what a surprise! Sophie Minasarova is the Public Relations Manager, and everywhere we turned, we saw her! She is literally in 5 places at one time, and is extremely engaging with guest to ensure that they are enjoying their stay, and are feeling the "love" of Live Aqua. Last but definitely not least is Jorge Noriega. He is the Food & Beverage Manager, and he must also go to the same magic school as Sophie, because he is everywhere. He attends to every detail, and every food and dining experience seems to reflect his dedication and joy in what he does.

Me and my wife recently returned from our honeymoon at Live Aqua. I consider my self well traveled especially when it comes to staying at all inclusive resorts. There are 4 categories that I believe make or break a resort, location, property, staff and food. Live Aqua is located about 20 minutes from the airport and about 10 minutes away from the clustered hotel zone. They have a manicured private beach that's not overrun by vendors. Across form the hotel is La Isla shopping village that's has everything from high-end clothing to H & M there are plenty of restaurants if you get bored of the food at the resort which I highly doubt. Don't make the same mistake we did if your shopping for souvenirs go to LA Isla avoid the flea market in town where you might think you can bargain better deals. We found the most reasonably priced things there without the pressure of haggling. Now the property at Live Aqua is stunning probably the cleanest resort I've stayed at. With all the covid protocols in place the could teach us something here in the states. Temperature checks and hand sanitizer before entering any restaurants shoe sanitizing mats at every entrance every staff member is masked up. The entire hotel is sanitized daily I personally witnessed on multiple occasions staff members walking around and spraying everything down from the pool area to the elevators. This property has 8 restaurants, 7 pools, spa, gym, gift shops, photographer and if you're lucky enough and upgrade to aqua club you get access to their aqua club level lounge which includes premium drinks and a variety of finger foods all day. Now to the staff they were simply amazing very accommodating very professional and very easy to communicate with as everyone I ran into spoke English which makes for a stree free vacation. As it was our honeymoon and they were aware of it we were constantly surprised with random shots by the pool, beautifully plated deserts at dinners and even a bottle of champagne and deserts to our room. While the entire staff was amazing one person in particular stuck out and that was Rodrigo the pool supervisor but should be hotel manager he made our trip so much more enjoyable from accommodating any request at the pool to places to eat things to do places to go. He was always checking on us either by chatting us up at the pool or a simple text to see how we were doing or if there was anything we needed. On to the food Delicious. You can get anything from a simple hotdog to veal. Options are unlimited and all amazing beautiful platted creations with a little twist on them. The habanero soup from MB was our absolute favorite. Overall I give Live Aqua a 10 out of 10.

We were recommended by our close friends Pat and Graham from England to visit Cancun and stay in Live Aqua which is located in the Hotel Tourist Area, close to beautiful shopping malls. Situated right on a stunning white sandy beach which goes for miles. The whole area is extremely clean, the sands are cleared every morning to ensure you are not walking through seaweed or rubbish. The colour of the sea is excuisite, a bright Aqua.
We cannot recommend the hotel highly enough, from the moment you walk through the door at the start of your holiday you are greeted with smiles and there is a real aurora about the place. We soon felt that the whole team excelled in customer service. They adhere to the companies core values and many of the staff have worked at this hotel for years. We have so many people to thank for making our holiday memorable for all the right reasons. The first day we walked down to the poolside area and wow what a view its definitely picture postcard. Jonathan, Daniel, younger Daniel and Rudolph to name only a few really work hard, no need to rush down each morning to obtain a sunbed, as the team will ensure you have a bed or lounger. An abundance of towels provided and laid out for you. Special thank you to Luisa Yam who spoilt us during our 14night stay, ensuring food and drinks were supplied throughout each day, around the poolside.
There are several A La Carte restaurants and one buffet restaurant, no bookings necessary, although if you wish to eat after 7pm you may need to wait, they provide you with a beeper.
Food is delicious and exceptionally high quality. Thank you to the Food and Beverages Manager Martin Vazquez.
Our favourite restaurant was The Hidden Garden, Karla and her team ( Stephanie & Eduardo) are extremely attentive and made our final evening pretty special with the Chef making us a surprise 4 course meal.
If you go to breakfast ask for David who has a hidden quality for attention to detail of remembering little things that are individual to you. Marco makes the best Smoothies. If you want a different kind of eating experience book with Ashley at the Inlaa Kech, he takes you through a journey with Mexican iconic dishes in a fun interactive multi course dinner.
There is a Starbucks coffee shop, Carlos already had our English Breakfast Tea ready as soon as we walked in and Xavier so happy to interact about Liverpool Football Club. The food is freshly made daily if you want a sandwich or naughty cake.
If you are looking for a high quality hotel, this is the place, look no further.

Live Aqua exceeded expectations in customer service, comfort of rooms with luxury bedding, quality of food, cleanliness, complimentary COVID testing, transportation to and from the airport and location. Check-in was smooth with no wait and our room was very comfortable with nice cool air conditioning. The room is wired to have the lights come on & curtain open partially upon entry which is a nice feature. However, it was at times confusing as all the lights would go off on their own after entry. Very nice toiletries are provided and a roomy shower with rain head or handheld shower wand that can be adjusted to work as a shower head at the right height for any user. The restaurants all served good food- gourmet like portions and presentation on huge plates but tasty and you can order multiple courses without having to order upcharged specialty items such as lamb chops or steaks. The hotel offers a $50 credit which can be used for the specialty menu items but we found that most items were hugely overpriced so that you had to pay extra. The credit could be used for the spa but all the applicable spa services were over $100. We felt that all eligible items were priced so high that the $50 credit was discouraging rather than a perk. We also were surprised that seafood items on the menu were not more plentiful, of better quality, and portions were small. The "large" shrimp (shrimp cocktail) were comparable to medium shrimp in the U.S., ceviche had very small pieces of fish, crab soup had minute quantities of crab, etc. Mixed drinks in general were disappointingly diluted so we stuck with beer or straight liquor. The beach was beautiful with plenty of loungers with umbrellas. It was sometimes hard to find a lounger around any of the pools with an umbrella for shade. We finally arrived at the strategy of going to the pool later in the day to avoid the intense sun and have a better choice of location. The bar/food service around the pool was great and we loved the hamburger and taco grill stations for a quick lunchtime meal.
We were very confused by the restaurants- none of the buildings were labeled with signage to identify which restaurant is which. The online menus and locations got changed a few times while we were there; things were on the menu which didn't show up online, one day it's an Italian restaurant and the next it's Lebanese. Overall, we enjoyed our vacation very much and all the staff were very helpful and kind.

This was our first experience in an all inclusive and on mainland Mexico, I can sincerely say it will be hard to top Live Aqua and they have set the standards very high, even during a pandemic.
I decided to stay here because 1) all the trip advisor reviews 2) reading through the Facebook Live Aqua fan page (grain a salt here) 3) Costco had what I thought was a great deal on this (during anticipated trip learned when you book at least via Costco you may not get the same amenities as what you would book direct even though the cost may be the same). With all that said I was still a little skeptical, falling on the old adage, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is, in this case it really was true.
The property is so calming and beautiful inside and out. All personal interactions were warm, inviting and helpful. I wish I could remember everyone's names...Rossy at the the towel hut was just so sweet. We were amazed to see Sophia with PR walking all over the property interacting with people asking questions about people stay. The head chef walking around the pool area, checking in with the guest asking everyone's thoughts on the food in all the restaurants. We were left feeling they really care to hear comments and looking to make any tweaks. Jerimo in the aqua lounge was very friendly.
We ever experienced a very awkward situation for us, when we arrived they surprised us with a room upgrade, to the aqua suite. Such a beautiful room, with a very large patio with lounge chairs and table and eating area. It also had a huge jetted tub. This room was stunning, but it was hard to see the ocean or the gardens, since we were on the lobby level. It was a very difficult decision for us and took us a couple of days to decide, no we are very grateful but we really want the room we book which was a Teirra Suite. It was amazing how accommodating they were about moving rooms. The Teirra Suite was exactly what we wanted and just as beautiful as the Aqua Suite. With this suite you don't have a jetted tub, but it is a bubbler type tub, you can see the ocean anywhere in the suite since the little terrace/balcony has window railings. When your on the little balcony you can see the gardens, pools and the ocean. These suites are closer to the elevator too.
I have been asked by friends would you go here again and my answer is absolutely! I wish we had 2 weeks there since there were so many excursions we would have loved to have done and to have time to just relax at the resort.

Just returned from a week long stay with some friends and I'm already looking forward to my next visit (hopefully very soon). WOW WOW WOW is all I can say.
I felt safer here than back home with all the health/safety precautions they're taking during the Covid-19 crisis. They check guests temperatures before they're even out of the shuttle, all staff wear PPE inside and out. Guests are asked to wear masks in the hotel common areas as well but not outside. The number of pool beds and chairs have been reduced to help with social distancing efforts. A couple of restaurants weren't open but there were plenty of choices with a variety of food.
We stayed in a Premium Gardenview room on the 2nd floor for the first 2 nights and upgraded to an Aqua Suite on the 6th floor for the remaining 5 nights. All rooms are very nice inside but if you do have the opportunity to upgrade or book one of the suites it's worth it. We enjoyed having the large private patio, separate living/bedroom areas and 2 bathrooms. Plus, it comes with Aqua Club access on the 5th floor and a complimentary reserved cabana each day (you choose your location based on availability and what area of the pools or beach you prefer to be, we switched it up each day).
Hidden Garden was a fav for dinner Shrimp Pad Thai was my go to twice during our stay. We also tried MB twice for their Habanero Creme Soup. Some menu items were limited but we were able to view all menus on our phones.
Pool/Cabana/Housekeeping/Front Desk/Aqua Club/Bar/Food service...OUTSTANDING!! Alan, Andres, Marysol, Daniel and Pedro are just a few names I can recall but kudos to the entire staff for taking such good care of us. Sophie, thank you for promptly addressing the window covering issue we experienced in our suite.
This place is ranked very high among travelers and these are just a handful of reasons why. I could go on and on about everything they have to offer but if you do your research like I do before deciding on a place to stay, each review will give you the info you need to make you realize LA is not to be missed.

My concern for COVID 19 was eased by the personnel of Live Aqua Beach. From the moment you enter somebody will measure your temperature, everybody is wearing a mask and even face shields. They encourage social distancing, menus a la carte instead of buffets, applying hand sanitizer before entering every restaurant, every room disinfected daily, etc.
And I haven’t talk about the excellent service but each and every member working there. Special mention to Marcos in the fresh juice and smoothies for breakfast who will fulfill any combination you can ask for. In Restaurant Azur, Marcelo the waiter is a gem, the Hidden Garden restaurant with the most efficient team of servers and cooks who delivered some of the most tasty dishes I have ever tried. But my respects goes to Andres, the pool waiter by the jacuzzi area, who will put a drink in your hand as soon as you finished your last one, I wonder if he could read minds. 😋
I can go on and on and I will never finish...
The only complain I have is the sales department by Quique, the “manager” who made my husband angry and left the room before even starting the sales pitch. Though again, the service personnel came to the fore, special mention to Arabi Piza, who made sure we would not leave with a bad memory of this wonderful hotel, that for just one person all the hard work of everyone else would be in vain.
Thank you all!!

We live nearby in Akumal and came to Live Aqua for a 3 night getaway as things began opening after the COVID-19 pandemic. We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations, great food, top shelf liquor and overall fun atmosphere. Donny welcomed us and gave us his personal number for assistance anytime we needed something. The place was constantly under sanitation measures and all employees wore masks and face shields.
The staff members were warm, friendly and very accommodating. Rooms were spotless, frequent towel replacement, turndown service every evening, etc. The beach and poolside waitstaff were also very responsive and attentive!
The MB restaurant was our favorite of the ones that were open. Our hostess Cassandra was always pleasant and accommodating, even when we showed up late for our reservation one night. Chef Jorge and waiter, Aaron are passionate about their work and aim to please. The manager, Ezequiel was most helpful and was frequently on the floor leading by example and helping his team to ensure we were always taken care of. We are already talking about our next stay here. Great job by the Live Aqua team! Can't wait to come back soon!
Sincerely,
The Texicans

My boyfriend and I stayed at Live Aqua from December 16th through the 23rd. From the first day to the last we were treated amazingly by the entire staff. When we arrived, check in was quick and easy. The room was very clean and spacious. Our go to guy for the pool or beach was Pedro, he is such an attentive and detailed young man. After the 1st day, he knew our drinks and we were at a point where we didn’t even need to ask for another round. He also seemed to make sure the rest of the staff also had our drinks down. He made sure that my 30th birthday was celebrated (picture attached). Francisco was another young man we had a pleasure of having as one of our servers, we saw him for breakfast every morning and even on an occasion for lunch, where he made sure to serve us a special lunch that was off the menu!
For dinner after the second day we dined at MB every night. The food here is just WOW! And the service, just the far best we have ever had at a resort. We were served by Christian Reyes and his waiter assistant both are very attentive, polite and thoughtful. Christian made every dinner a special one, with off the menu plates, and table side desserts made by Christian himself. One two occasions we had the pleasure of meeting the chef William who was covering for the main chef and his food was very delicious. He made sure to come out and introduce his meals to us. On the last night we had the pleasure of meeting mister Moises, whom is the main chef of MB. His food was amazing and delicious as well. He, Christian and the manager Claudia made sure that our last dinner there was one that we will never forget. (Picture attached) we were greeted by a table decorated with rose petals, along with a delicious cocktail. We had a full course meal and yet another amazing dessert.
To say that the staff outdid themselves is an understatement. Claudia the manager was continuously just making sure everything was great, and it was. She was like a energizer bunny never stopping and making sure everything ran smoothly.
Claudia, Christian, Chef Moises, Chef William, Pedro Damaris (awesome hostess) and Fernando, all of you we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this trip one we will never forget. See you on our next trip!
