We had a wonderful 5 night stay at the Hilton Cancun. The doors and drinks were good. The best service was by Mateo at the Vela buffet. He was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and even gave us drink recommendations. We were celebrating two birthdays and he made sure the make them special with birthday cakes. Thank you Mateo!

Guadalupe, Nancy and Karen made the best burgers, made me feel welcome like home… definitely will come back again. I spent a lot of time in the pool area and everyday they made me feel good and ensure I got what I needed.

Stayed early June as a family of 4 (two young teens) Beautiful room-1 bedroom with 1.5 bathrooms. Nice size balcony and great concept with the design. Although I didn't mind the see through bathroom, my teens were not happy with it. Resort was at 99% capacity according the front desk. Overcrowded and not enough staff to keep up with demand. At this rate the hotel will look worn very quickly. The upkeep was evident with trash, glasses and debris left around for hours or days. Guests shouldn't leave items but when it happens, the cleaning crew shod step in which did not happen. Pool is too small for this size resort. Again, overcrowded because the beach is non existent (seaweed) Staff was "OK" not resort friendly but probably just overworked and tired. This felt like a hotel not a sprawling lush tropical resort. Great for pictures with beautiful decor! I couldn't imagine staying for a week or longer- it's too crowded. Disappointing but the excursions were great!

We had a wonderful visit at this all-inclusive resort. The staff is absolutely wonderful and attentive to the needs of the guests. AUMA and MAXAL were our favorites. In particular, Juanita was outstanding at AUMA, and Antonio at MAXAL. Felix at VELA was outstanding. Mexican hospitality at its best.

We had the best week at the Hilton Cancun. I traveled with my 19 year old daughter. The resort was beautiful and the food/drinks were on point, but the service is what stole the show. From check-in to departure the Hilton family made us feel comfortable and relaxed. Israel took excellent care of us by the pool (we preferred the quieter pool sans water park). Our favorite restaurant was La Luce. Two delicious dinners and attentive service by Edgar Israel. We also enjoyed Sunan for three meals and had excellent service each time. The lobby was beautiful with comfortable seating for enjoying drinks, music, and conversation. The sargassum was disappointing, but not the fault of the Hilton. While I wouldn’t choose this resort for those seeking late night action or easy access to the happenings in the hotel zone, it was perfect for a relaxing week before school starts in the fall.

My husband and I came for five days at the beginning of August. I’ll start with the cons, since there are less of them: -unusable beach. This is not the fault of the hotel, as it’s a seasonal issue along the entire coast. It wasn’t just not using the beach, though, it was also the smell. Staff did try their best to clear it but the smell got everywhere, even inside. The only places I didn’t smell it was a few restaurants and the room itself -pool condition. The pools are large and stunning. However, there are tiles missing everywhere. They chose a very modern design which is pretty to look at, but doesn’t seem practical due to all the missing tiles. My husband and I also wondered several times how often they were cleaned. We never saw them cleaned and they got pretty grimey later in the day. My guess is the cleaning happens earlier in the morning because every day when we arrived it looked okay, but took a turn in the later afternoon -very family friendly. This can be a pro or con depending how you look at it. We were on a couples trip and were run into at the pool and hallways by kids running around, as well as general screaming and splashing. I have a four year old, so I get it… I probably should have booked an adults only hotel. I had no idea Cancun was so family friendly, so that’s on me. People traveling with kids might find it a pro. Now to the pros: -staff! Can’t say enough about the staff. Best staff at any hotel I’ve been to. Friendly, attentive, willing to humor my husband who loves to try out his very basic level Spanish skills. Everyone spoke English but he was thrilled that they were willing to engage with him in Spanish and would help him along if he got stuck, even if that meant taking some time. The pool staff went above and beyond. Gabriela, Cruz and Veronica are names that stick out to me because they literally would anticipate what we were going to order before we even had the chance. The buffet and the individual restaurants also had great staff, but the pool people were above and beyond exceptional -food. I don’t expect amazing food at an all-inclusive, but was so pleasantly surprised! The buffet had a ton of options, the restaurants (we at at Sunan, La Luce, Mexal and Auma) were so good and the tacos at the pool were a real highlight. I ate so many chorizo tacos daily that I lost count -drinks. Typically they water down drinks at an all-inclusive, but not here! Bartenders are top-notch. -kid friendly. See above comment in previous section. -ease of scheduling. You can order room service and make reservations all through your phone. So much better than having to call or go in person to schedule. -room keys. I love the bracelet as a room key! No need to remember to pack it whenever you leave the room. -close to airport. Very easy to get to/from the airport from the resort. Pretty much just one road. Taxi was $40. Overall, it was a great time! I probably would only return if I was traveling with my daughter, though. And probably only during the off season for seaweed. However, the staff would be what would make a return trip on the table!
