Good points
⁃ reusable glasses
⁃ Good drinks
⁃ Buffets with variety
⁃ Hotel near the airport, 20 min by bus
⁃ Excellent a la carte steak house restaurant! Super good service! On the other hand, wine is always charged in à la carte restaurants.
⁃ Very beautiful vegetation on the entire site, with good maintenance by the gardeners
⁃ Fast food style restaurants open late in the evening, fast and good service from the waiters
⁃ Beautiful song shows at the place…, on the other hand we have to sit on the few pool chairs, because the place is not made to accommodate people. Little chair sitting
⁃ There is a “concierge” who is in each of the blocks to help us. When we have questions or need help, this person can help us. That’s a big plus!

Negative points
⁃ The songs are repetitive at the disco and beachclub
⁃ We must get up around 7 a.m. to reserve chairs at the pool and the beach, otherwise it will be impossible to find them during the day
⁃ All bars only opened at 11 a.m. and closed at 11 a.m. even the nightclub.
⁃ No central lobby, each small lobby is in each block but not very unifying
⁃ The safe is chargeable ($9 per day), whereas on the website it was included
⁃ Little entertainment during the day (Zumba, Aqua fitness, water polo, no volleyball balls, we have to “run” after the GOs to get balls to play with.
⁃ Of the 12 restaurants, 4 are paying, the others are without reservation, but you must arrive very early (one hour wait and more if you stay near the restaurant)
⁃ Only possible to reserve 2 restaurants through the resort app
⁃ The schedule of activities on the interactive screens and on the application are not up to date
⁃ GOs are not very present, the site is so big that we miss several games. The GOs do not remind us of those activated on the site, no visual reminder at the buffets, no GO on the microphone explains the upcoming activities to us
⁃ After 5 p.m., no more entertainment with the GO (no animated dancing, games, etc.)
⁃ A la carte restaurants: Max 10 min late, otherwise we cannot enter and we lose our reservation and there are costs per person
⁃ Activities should start at 2 p.m. according to the app, but it starts at 3:30 p.m.... just shoots and girls dancing on the stage... little entertainment and games
⁃ Housekeepers: rarely refilling water bottles, a lot of sand in our room (no time did the housekeeper sweep or mop)
⁃ Most places are exclusive to people with the black bracelet, despite the price of being in this hotel, we get turned around in several places
⁃ Very large site, need 2-3 days to get oriented

Disappointing Experience with Only One Bright Spot

Our experience started off positively, with Francisco reaching out to us before we left Denver, sparking excitement for our trip to Cancun. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Francisco and the door staff, who guided us to check-in. Unfortunately, that’s where things started to take a downturn.

At check-in, the atmosphere felt more focused on rules than on making us feel welcome. Our room was okay but not up to expected standards of cleanliness, a theme that persisted throughout our stay. We repeatedly requested room cleaning and, surprisingly, Francisco himself stepped in to clean one day when housekeeping fell short—a disappointing situation that showed serious gaps in their service.

Francisco was exceptionally kind and attentive, so when he invited us to a “club” presentation, we agreed, thinking it would be a quick 90 minutes. Instead, it stretched to a grueling 3.5 hours, and we learned about their tiered “all-inclusive” packages, each with different benefits. When we expressed that we weren’t interested in their offerings, especially as we already owned two weeks at Villa Del Palmar, the pressure ramped up. We were passed from one manager to another, until finally, “Johnnie” came in with a very aggressive and rude approach, acting like a closer from an outdated sales pitch. The experience was uncomfortable and completely off-putting.

The food was another major letdown, reminding us of elementary school cafeteria meals. Even with the “better” packages, the dining options didn’t inspire us to eat at the resort as one would expect with an all-inclusive package. For the cost, they should aim to provide memorable dining experiences that encourage guests to stay on property for meals.

While they compared their offerings to Villa Del Palmar, the contrast was clear. Villa Del Palmar provides flexible options that let you enjoy the local food scene without feeling locked into the resort. Here, however, we felt like we were constantly overpaying for underwhelming experiences.

The one saving grace of our trip was Francisco, whose genuine kindness and effort stood out in an otherwise disappointing stay. Reflecting on the experience, we should have asked for a refund after the first few hours and considered a different resort. Sadly, I won’t be returning to any of their properties.

It's not a top-notch All Inclusive. There is food and drink all the time, entertainment and it is seafront, but keep in mind that there are five huge buildings with rooms, so there are queues at breakfast and dinner (both at the buffet and in the other restaurants). The alcoholic drinks are all based on ready-made juices, don't expect a fruit caipirinha or mojito. We could book dinner at two restaurants via the App, it was very difficult to do so, but stick with it as they are worth it. There is a well-shaded and diverse kids area, with a playground and several shallow pools. I don't know about the activities and monitors because my daughter ended up not staying there. The room is very old, from the 80s, but everything works, we had no problems. The safe is too old, we left our documents and money inside a locked suitcase. Room cleaning takes place every other day and unfortunately we had to request everything: from changing towels, sheets, replacing soap and shampoo and the minibar. The staff lack training to treat guests with courtesy, there were few who were friendly. There are many restaurants and entertainment, we stayed 8 nights and didn't get to see everything.

Not the best experience in all my years of travel. An old, dilapidated hotel that hasn't seen renovations in the last XXX years. The real problem is the sewerage in the entire hotel infrastructure. Rooms are not adapted for long stays. By choosing All inclusive you get bad service, disgusting low quality food that you have to queue for an hour or an hour and a half. Your life becomes a competition for survival: who will be the first to take the line to the dining room, the bar and the sunbed by the pool. We can describe our negative experiences for the first two days indefinitely, after which we paid extra for Ultra and received a completely different level of service with English-speaking staff, availability of deck chairs, bars with alcohol to drink and restaurants à la carte for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Of the positives: a large and rather well-kept area, in the rooms, despite the fact that taps and handles fall off, clean linen and towels, good water pressure, managing 100% air conditioning. Not obsessive animation during the day, evening shows of the folk art and amateur program, as in other things and everywhere else. The nicest thing, and probably the cherry on the cake, is the noise insulation. You can sleep peacefully, in the room at any time of day quietly the sounds from the street will not disturb you.

The lady who gave us Check In (Booking & Expedia Reception). Very apathetic in her service, she did not see our eyes in the interaction, she was fast and the room was already available when we arrived at noon, however I asked her for her scissors so I could cut the bracelets to my liking since I measure and cut them in a round shape to prevent my family and I from scratching ourselves on the plastic tips. I explained why and apparently he didn't care about my comment and cut mine as he wanted, I had to ask him twice to be able to cut my wife's and my daughter's.

Floor concierge (Room 1554) worse than the reception you can go through 10 times and not one time does they turn to greet you, the man in the afternoon, you can stand for 1 minute at the desk and he doesn't care about your prescience, he has a better face looking at the monitor. They don't look you in the eye, they don't smile, they seem to point things out but don't follow up. At night around 9pm I approached the concierge desk to request support with an extra blanket and location of an ice machine or if I could request room service. Both responses are unacceptable. The ice could not be ordered to the room in any way, nor was there an ice machine, you have to go to the Gecko bar in another building to ask for it at the bar, there is no way to deliver the blanket, since they do not have a night shift or on Housekeeping night and they don't have a key since they close the cellar. First time I've heard that type of response from a Concierge at an All Inclusive.

Bars without a handle to prepare drinks in any bar, not all bars handle frozen, if you don't want to get wet in the pool bar you have to go to the Gecko xD everything to the Gecko. Restaurants poor variety of all buffets, they put many restaurants and they are the same ones concentrated in Dos Main Buffet.

Everything is occupied by the Beach Clubs, there are no regular cabins, nor shade for sun loungers, I understand that they want to sell extra but they exaggerate just as most restaurants have an extra cost, you can only reserve two like Grand Oasis and they are always full . Better sell the Grand Oasis as a European Plan and upgrade to Pyramid and the club.

My family loves to visit All Inclusive, we have visited Grand Esmeralda, Grand Park Royal, SunScape Akumal, Mia Reef, Ocean Riviera Paradise and in none of them have we received such unprofessional treatment. We always travel without high expectations to enjoy and not stress, we are supposed to escape to relax.

What is redeemable about the stay. The housekeeping service is very friendly and happy to support you with your requests. Many thanks to the floor supervisor and maid for excellent cleaning. Minibars are also very friendly with a service attitude. Security agents are also very kind in finding our lost Yetis. (Not even those who really should be prepared to solve, follow up on complaints, basic service standards and service attitude).

Go at own risk!! Me and my boyfriend arrived at this resort February 19th. When we booked it we originally booked one bed, king/queen, we walk into our room to two twin beds. We didn’t arrive until 1:30am so we said we would go back down in the morning and have our room changed. When we woke up the next day to go down we were about to put our things in the safe but come to realize you need a lock box and key for it?? We go down to the desk and inform him about our bed situation and he said to come back at 3pm tmr as nothing is available right now. We asked the worker about the safe and he said there is a charge of $15 a day to use the safe so we purchased it. When we got back up to our room the lock box and key never worked. After examining our room a little deeper there was what i thought to be black mold all over the top of the full length mirror i complained to the front desk and the worker followed me up to look at it and said that it is just black dirt??? So clearly the cleaning is not done. We were told 3 days straight to come back at 3pm for availability for a new room and gave up on the third day. Our room for 2 days was not cleaned by a maid, our fridge was not restocked with water or anything the entire time i even wrote a note and left money with it telling them to restock the fridge and they never did it or took the money. You can hear every sound, conversation and word of the rooms on either side of you. THE BARS…. I’ve never experienced this at an all inclusive you have to wait in a single file line to get served at every bar including the swim up bar you simply cannot sit down at the bar get your drink and go on your way you have to single file to get served. However, me and boyfriend did still enjoy ourselves while down here despite all the trouble. The food was really good besides the steak at the steakhouse. The beach club was party central for one of the days we went down. Drinks were great and beach was beautiful. Resort workers were not that friendly besides a few.

Im currently staying at Grand Oasis Cancun till Tuesday February 18th with a group of 25 people and the experience has been one of the worst resort experiences I’ve ever had. We are staying for 5 nights and nearly every aspect of our stay was disappointing, frustrating, and simply not worth the money.

Customer Service

I’m extremely disappointed with the customer service at this resort. From the moment we arrived, the staff has been unhelpful, unresponsive, and inattentive to basic requests. Whether it’s long wait times, lack of communication, or an overall dismissive attitude, the experience has been far from what I expected. A resort of this caliber should prioritize guest satisfaction, yet it feels like customer service is an afterthought. Water is definitely something hard to get by from room service and front reception. This has negatively impacted my stay, and I hope management takes immediate action to improve their service standards.

Rooms

My stay at this resort has been extremely disappointing. The rooms were in terrible condition—unclean, poorly maintained, and far from what was advertised. To make matters worse, I found cockroaches in the room, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a resort. The lack of proper hygiene and upkeep is alarming, and it’s clear that management is not prioritizing guest comfort.

Food

My experience at this resort has been disappointing overall. The buffet food was terrible—bland, poorly prepared, and lacking variety. For a resort, I expected much better quality and freshness, but it was clear that little effort was put into the buffet offerings. Bars also are limited to open spots, there should be at-least 1 bar thats kinda open late night. However, I will say that the restaurant was a bright spot in my stay, with much better food and service.

The Only good positive

The view and location is beautiful, and the hotel aesthetically looks stunning. The polishing of the floors in the hallway was really nice to see as well…

Overall Review

My overall experience at this resort has been disappointing. While it’s clear that time and effort have been spent on polishing the floors and maintaining certain areas, that same attention is desperately needed elsewhere. The rooms were in horrible condition, even having cockroaches, which is completely unacceptable. Customer service was poor, with staff being unhelpful and unresponsive. The buffet food was also subpar, though the restaurant was a rare positive aspect of the stay. If management invested as much in improving the guest experience as they do in appearances, this resort could be much better. Unfortunately, as it stands, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The service is very bad, we arrived at the hotel at 8 in the morning and they gave us the room until 4 in the afternoon and they still had not finished cleaning it, the minibar did not work and they never changed it for us, of the 5 days that we were alone They cleaned the room once, justifying that this is how the hotel works, they clean “every other day” for the beach to be comfortable it costs you $950 a day even though it is “all inclusive” those who serve you the drinks are apathetic and They act like they don't listen to you, it doesn't include all the restaurants unless you buy the black bracelet. Be careful as soon as you arrive to check in, the staff in blue t-shirts hunt you down as soon as you leave to try to sell you a “shared service.” They catch you by telling you that they will give you a free 25 minute massage but what they don't tell you is that you have to go through what At least 90 minutes with them, basically losing a day of your vacation and they hook you up by asking for $500 in advance, preferably telling them no from the beginning. They do not constantly clean the pool, we found bandaids with blood in it and we notified the staff and they did nothing to clean it. It is not all inclusive, they charge you for the internet and certain restaurants. What is worth it is the sea view 🌊 but the service does leave a lot to be desired, there are even foreigners who had the
Same problem with the delivery of the room.

Starting at the beach, it is an area where there is always a red flag, you can not bathe the waves on the shore are quite a lot and take you inside. There are not enough restrooms for a Hotel with so many guests, at 8 am there is no longer availability even in the pools
The cleaning you had to ask for as they were not going to replenish soap, we requested a blanket and took it after three days after several claims for it. We went to raise towels for the pool and we were delivered two per room, we were three people, what does the third person do?? The answer was that was the order. When we went for a drink you had to queue long lines as there is always only one person attending, the same in the buffets, wait for tables to be vacated and then pass. I don’t recommend it at all, it’s a tremendous impotence to feel like you threw away the money saved for your vacation, you know what it’s like to not be able to bathe for a day and this is ALWAYS like this. I would keep writing, I hope it will help them when choosing not to do it in this Hotel, I do it in order that it does not happen to anyone what happened to us. I'm not getting my money back and the terrible moments we live, I put in the title, ruined our vacation.

There are rats in the outdoor food sectors, they charge the lock of the safe 165 pesos x day; they only give you 2 towels x room no matter how many guests they are and call themselves 5-star hotel (so listed on Google). They leave complimentary beers at the Minibar and leave no opener to open the bottles. Don't come, it's a trap. They tempt you with an affordable price but that also comes at a cost, clearly.
To top it off, I run to tell an employee that I saw a rat next to the food and he justified the presence of rats since “the food is outdoors”. Not only that, but I misdirected the place to make the claim when I wanted to do it formally (in writing) and lied about being reporting the incident from your cell phone.
Don't spend your precious time and money vacationing in this place!
