owner wanted to charge us extra taxes on the room we had already paid trying to scam us. I asked the owner every day to explain the taxes. And every day he said he’d check then finally he said I was right and we already paid it. He did not give our money back until the day we left. Water in room was either boiling hot or freezing cold for showers. So much to the point where I dreaded to shower. The AC was not working whatsoever. We called to get it looked at and no one ever came up. The hot tub/jacuzzi right outside the room was filthy and old. Very unpleasant. The only good thing is location because I got to wake up to a beautiful view and fell asleep to sound of the ocean.

I am currently staying here 1/6 to 1/9. First the good:The place is amazing. My room is huge and has a magnificent balcony. My bathroom is huge and has separate rooms for shower tub and potty. Everything looks brand new. The employees will get you ice or towels as you need them the lifeguard PiPi will pull your chairs out to the most beautiful beach you have ever experienced. The check-in and check-out were simple and quick. Thank you Vanessa. A berm created by erosion keeps people from walking on your private beach. The pool needs attention but is beautiful and adequate and great for photos. My chicken quesadilla was the best I have ever had.
Now the bad.. as you drive up to the hotel. It is scary. Garbage and poorly maintained exterior. Relax the actual hotel is nice. Security is good at the gate.. non-existent in the room ..my sliding glass door did not have ANY latch. My room had an old fashioned key and no modern in room safe. It is unfortunate that some simple security matters are neglected. Travelers need to feel that they are secure in their rooms.
My bed and bedding were very nice and comfortable. I didn't notice any excessive noise.

At some point in it's history, this was probably a very glamorous hotel. Glimpses of that glamour still exist, but it is chipped, faded and well worn around the edges. Still, it has much to offer. If you're looking for 5-star luxury, this place isn't for you. There is no room service, no coffee maker, no complimentary water bottles, no hair dryer, the towels are cheap and don't always match and the whole place could use a paint job and general repair. But it does have charm, and the quiet location offers easy access to shopping, transportation and activities. The restaurant, though basic, has a stunning view of the sea and the food, though basic, is cheap and good, served with a friendly smile. The private beach is small and generally very quiet, studded with palapas for shade. The incredible art collection, displayed all over the property, gives the property a personal touch and makes this place a cross between a resort and a Bed 'n' Breakfast. I found the staff very friendly and very helpful. I'm completely uninterested in giant resorts and am more than happy to give up a few small amenities in exchange for a smaller, more relaxed, more intimate experience. Casa Turquesa, in all it's faded , chipped, rusted glory, suited me perfectly.

This hotel could be a five star property, the rooms are incredibly spacious, all marble. What could be beautiful marble tubs, shower stalls and duel sinks, as well as a hot tub on the spacious decks have gone to waste for lack of upkeep, they're filthy and haven't been properly cleaned in who knows how long. The first room I checked in to the toilet wasn't working, and the shower head was so loaded with sediment the water only trickled out, the sliding door to the balcony would open easily enough, however closing it was an effort as it wouldn't slide, on top of that the lock was broken on it so anyone could come in via the balcony. While there's a safe in the room, it requires a lock, I was told there was no lock available for it! The second morning I woke up to a broken air conditioner, I was told it would be fixed, they told me it was fixed, it wasn't. I switched rooms, the second room had the same safe with no lock available, also had a broken lock on the sliding door, both locks it was easy to see they had been broken for some time as the broken metal was already corroded. I had to ask for the water to be turned on in the room. The spigot on the marble tub was missing entirely, just a copper threaded pipe where it should be attached. A major safety concern if you have kids was wide open electrical outlets! (see pictures attached) Also in the attached pictures you can see how little they care about what they do, in that the TV was partially blocked by an armoire, over the bed has a ledge filled with dust, there are 5 lights set into the top and bottom of the ledge, it would be beautiful aside from the dust and only one of the six lights worked! The service was virtually non existent, at one point I came up from the beach to get a beer, couldn't find anyone for 15 minutes, after that I just bought beer at a local store. Lastly, they don't keep their beach section clean, the same plastic cups and garbage were there all six days I was there, look left and right, those hotels all had clean beaches. Such a waste of a beautiful and historic property!

The people who work there are great, but the hotel is nothing like what the pictures show. The beds are very hard so tough to sleep in. The air conditioning didn't work when we got there but they did fix it & there is no AC in the commons area. Everything in our room was old and a lot of things didn't work. The tub in the room, the tub on the balcony, and some of the handles on drawers were broken. Nothing big, but a lot of small things that should have been fixed were not. The shower had barely enough hot water for 2 showers, and the room smelled old.
Great location & great people, that's the only thing that kept us from canceling our room and finding another hotel. I would avoid if I were you and find a hotel that will help transportation and excursions. Taxis are crazy expensive ($20-$30 each way) so pay more for a hotel that will shuttle you to destinations.

Our first room 3rd floor was big, nice views, big balcony, old furniture and the AC didn’t work. We stayed there for one night fortunately. Around 1am after we complained the AC wasn’t working and maintenance guy told us it was nothing he can’t do until next day, We got changed to another room 1 st floor that it was modern and comfortable.
The hotel is nice but just for sleeping as the guy in the front told us. Not really a resort to stay for the day. Nothing to do inside the hotel. There is a nice pool, nice views.
If you have a group of friend a recommend the room we stayed. Nice jacuzzi and area to party as a group.
Walking to everywhere or taking the bus to the city. Safe area. Beautiful beach.
My pictures are from my second room.
If you are going to be doing tours all the time and get a good price go for it.

The Hotel Casa Turques is an older property located in the Cancun Hotel Zone. There are only thirty rooms in this hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The lobby is very nice with art work covering the walls.I had a spacious ocean front room, which was very clean. The hotel has a pool and a nice terrace area. It also has a private beach area too. There is also a small restaurant and bar near the pool. This hotel though is in need of some significant upgrades. There were some issues in my room. For example, there was no faucet for the bath tub, one of the sinks wouldn’t drain, and one of the closests was missing a knob. The drapes were also dirty, which were covering a chipped wall. I never did get the TV to work, despite getting assistance from the front desk. I also wouldn’t recommend eating at the restaurant as the menu is very limited and the food is below average. But despite some of the drawbacks to this hotel, I did enjoy my stay.

From the moment we arrived, we knew something was off. When checking in, we noticed this place was deserted (mind you, it's spring break) Not only were there no other guests, but there was literally no one working there. No functional restaurant or bar. No staff other than a receptionist.
Driveway was dangerous and in disrepair. We booked a king bed room and did not get that. Jacuzzi tub was not functional. Our room key worked on other rooms (discovered when we mistakenly went to the door before ours and walked right into someone else's room) We tried to walk around the hotel and the receptionist basically wouldn't let us go down the main stairs. No food. Asked for drinks and was brought 2 beers, but there was no working bar or bartender. Kind of an issue for a vacation in Mexico.
We left the same day (within 3 hours) of arriving. This hotel is not functional and does not meet basic standards. The photos on all the booking sites are at least 15 years old. The entire hotel is deserted, not maintained, and straight up creepy. We got out of there as soon as we could. For your own safety, do not book here.

Ok, the hotel is old and a bit shabby. The paint is peeling in places, some things need fixing… But despite all of that, we loved it.
Back in 1970’s it was probably built to be a top class hotel. Red marble floors, huge rooms and beds, beautiful bathrooms, artwork pieces on display everywhere, balconies with baths, stunning pool, beach just outside… So even if the hotel has seen better days, it’s still full of character, it’s lovely! It has a charm that new modern hotels can not imitate.
We would come back!

Well, this is a unique property , part art museum part beach mansion . Was quite the place back in the day that has slowly lost a lot of charm but still good value figuring it’s on the main beach strip . Friendly staff, convenient & ok restaurant and facilities. Just bummed that our reservation made months early on Expedia, was “lost” and had to be charged more for different but same room category. Also had to prove deposit paid ! Really ? Watch out for over or mystery charges too. Lots of the property’s services and rooms, buildings look like closed for some time . I’m sure they’re struggling with competition from the big new glossy resorts but still , the owner could bring back the glory with the right management and interest.
