Nomads Cancun Hotel & Hostel is celebrated for its friendly environment and convenient downtown location, which makes for easy city exploration. The hostel's amenities, including the pool and social events, receive high marks from guests, as do the cleanliness and service, with staff commended for their welcoming attitude. However, while the value of budget-friendly options is noted, some guests find the private rooms overpriced and noisy. Late-night music has also been mentioned as a disturbance for those seeking a tranquil retreat.

Location: Very near to the ADO bus stop. So you can take the ADO bus from airport to reach the hostel
Staff: Very friendly and helpful. David helped us with our plan to go around the city
Food: They do not have breakfast included plans, so you can eat at one of the restaurants within the hostel or outside. Food in the restaurants near reception as well as the roof top is ok, not bad but nothing special
WiFi speed: good
Linen: clean
Room: We had taken a mixed dormitory which was accessible only by the bracelet they had given. The room was clean overall
Sleep Quality: The mattress were thick but the head space is very small. Head touches ceiling of the bed above when seated inside
Checkin/Checkout: Checkin time is 3pm which is very late, especially if you are arriving by morning flight. They do provide a storage space to temporarily keep your luggage till checkin time

I traveled solo and this hostel has a perfect location!
Don’t let taxis fool you, you can go ANYWHERE by ADO which is 2 minute walk from the hostel. The vans are in front of OXXO, right by the pedestrian bridge

To Xcaret > get an ADO till Playa Del Carmen (45 pesos) then get another one till Xcaret (30 pesos) - 1h travel. Fast and safe

To Cirque DuSoleil you can also take the same white van for 35 pesos and they gonna drop you off at the Vidanta theater (45 minutes)
A taxi was charging me $2000 pesos! lol
The only problem is on the way back bc you have to cross the dark road. Unfortunately not the best settings :/

Front desk could be more helpful, they know nothing about the surroundings or any information you might ask however Joselyne was great!

The pool is beautiful, I loved it!

Food and drinks at the rooftop are HORRIBLE and the barman was rude. He couldn’t make a decent piña colada and was blaming me! Haha!

Rooms are pretty decent and clean.
Overall a good place to sleep and shower if you’re staying the whole day out like me!

This is THE place to stay in downtown Cancun, I thought I was just going to stay a day or two and now it’s been 10 days

Work: I work and travel and this place is great for both with a coffee shop in the front with huge tables and great wifi to get work done. I was able to do zoom calls in the afternoon since it wasn’t very loud or crowded

Sleep: I really like the pod style beds and power outlets in the locker and in the bed. Rooms were kept pretty clean and smelled good. No windows in the room so you can sleep pretty well if you go out all night.

Food: Rooftop bar has really great pescado and shrimp tacos/tostadas and at great prices. Downstairs café has plenty of options from chilaquiles to salmon avocado toast

Plenty of food options very close by as well - including a taqueria down the street, parque de la palapas, and tacos de polilla

Convenience: everything you need is within a 5 min walk.
Super close to the ADO station, across the street from a good gym (500 pesos for a week pass, 200 for a day) Grocery store nearby, and plenty of other things to see or do.

Overall, I’ve stayed at hundreds of hostels over the last decade, and this is easily one of the best.

First off all it is not a hotel. It's a hostel.the name is misleading. Don't get it wrong. I have nothing with the hostels. Actually you can meet a lot of interesting people there and have a good time. That's what happened with us also. We had a lovely time with the other clients. BUT!!!! We had booked an executive room with private bathroom and breakfast. Breakfast wasn't breakfast at all. No cereals no sausages no honey no cheese no fruits nothing. The trays were most of the time empty. You have to ask to beg actually to give you something. They had only some bad quality Coffee, only one kind of jouse same bad quality , one kind of marmalade , not personal portions and butter. A and boiled eggs also. That's all. So we went out to find decent breakfast. A thing that made very very bad impression to me was that the kitchen staff did not use gloves when filling the trays. I think this is very important.
As for the room. Two cement brigs with a necked lamp on it wes used as a bed side table . That's all.In the bathroom they have the same liquid for the hair and the body. They had nothing to use to wash the hands. When I asked them the put the same liquid! One for all! How wonderful! So if you insist in going and need an executive room keep that in mind. Bring your own shampoo and soap for the hands. The owners seem not to understand that certain kind of rooms need certain kinds of goods and services. So in my opinion with this money yoy can find something more decent.

I stayed in Cancun more than 2 months mostly because of this hostel, they're just too good to leave, the modern facilities, the comfortable clean rooms with good privacy, the hearty breakfasts and dinners, the sunny and smiling staffs, and most of guests were also smiling because there are good energy in this hostel.
The only weak point was the guest kitchen but the managers were very genuine and modest, they like to continue improving their service, the utensils were continuously adding...thanks for everyone there and good luck always.

Nomads Rooftop Hostel exceeded my expectations in every way. The place is spotless, with staff frequently cleaning common areas and ensuring the rooms are pristine. The guests and staff are all very nice, making it easy to meet new people and make friends. Being situated in downtown Cancun is a huge plus; everything you need is just a short walk away. Whether you're here for a short trip or an extended stay, this hostel is perfect. Can't wait to come back! Adriana was very helpful! Thanks to her :)

Honestly what a good experience! Location is key if you are scared of walking alone to the Hotel Area, plus it’s really safe. Lots of bars and restaurants around. The hostel is quite clean and the staff rocks! (Thanks for the good parties and advice Alvaro!). If you don’t wanna be all the time in Cancun, the hostel’s offering good discounts for affordable tours to some cenotes, Chichen Itza and so on. Plus I don’t think you’ll get bored there as there’s always something going on in the rooftop area :) Cheers! 🍻

This is a great option if you want to be walking distance to central downtown ADO, shops that are reasonably priced and some good options for food. The interior of the property is surprising in a good way! It is well decorated and is a huge hostel.

This is not the party atmosphere of most hostels and is still set up to meet people and enjoy the pool, free wifi and amenities that this brand offers.
I'd definitely recommend this place!

Cannot sleep here at all if you book a private room. I have just checked out after a day of staying at the hostel supposed to be 4 days . The grounds are lovely & maybe you'll be in more luck if you get a dorm but the private rooms are so loud. I paid $700 for 4 days of a private room so I could sleep but also be social. The private rooms back onto the social area & it is so so so loud for all hours, I had people outside making noise unbearably loud until so late. They also had a speaker and were playing Music until 1:30am up against my wall even though rule #2 on house rules is no music near rooms, and staff did not care.

The only reason I booked a private room for so much money is because i needed to sleep but that was a joke. After I finally fell asleep for all of 15 minutes. A few girls came back from the clubs / going out and continued to talk outside my room for hours.

I understand hostels have noise & Ive been backpacking for 10 years and all hostels will come with a certain level of noise & we're all there to have fun - but why would you offer the private rooms - the people who pay 4 x the price - with a shared wall to the social area. The whole place echoed also so anytime someone would come back into the venue your room would bang & when people were in the games room you could hear/feel the pool table in the room.

You cannot advertise somewhere is a place to sleep if you cannot in fact fall sleep at all & by reading recent reviews I now see this is a common theme. I would've been better off sleeping in a dorm tbh . its such a shame as I have been looking forward to staying here for months & left as soon as I could, I may as well of bene outside with everyone , it was louder inside my room because of the echo & I actually had someone from the party area knock on my door & scare me.

After all of 1 hours sleep I have now left the venue and would love a refund but dont see that happeninh. The solo more expensive rooms are not suitable or as described on the website at all & not equipped for sleep. The grounds are lovely & so is the location but only stay here if you go for the dorms.

I see that there *are* private rooms at this location, so if you're not ready to be pushed out of your comfort zone, you could still stay here for a very reasonable price. I'm looking to stay here in April and I am 43, so I say no- you are not too old to be doing this. ;) If it were me, and I was traveling alone, I would still probably book my own room, but if there wasn't one available, I would choose to stay in the all female dorm. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful time!
