This hotel is located in the colonia La Condesa, a nice, quiet and very walkable area which is a nice reprieve from an otherwise pretty busy, congested and chaotic city. The location is great because it's safe, there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance it's very close to the other famous colonia called Roma.

The hotel has two components in terms of accommodations. The main building has hotel style rooms/studios and a two bedroom penthouse. Next to the main building they also have several apartments within one building which they rent out like hotel rooms and also include all of the hotel amenities in the rate. We booked an apartment since we needed two rooms and it was great, especially because we had a living space where we could all hang out without having to go outside the hotel. The apartment was a 2BDR/2BTHR, with hardwood floors, a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living area as well as a spacious balcony. Our apartment faced the street but there were no issues with noise at all. The beds were comfortable enough and there were safes in both rooms. They provide minimal bathroom amenities and purified water in the kitchen. Housekeeping came by our apartment every day just like in a hotel.

The breakfast was served from 8-10am, and was included in the apartment rate. It was composed of assorted fresh fruits, bread, cake, cereal, yogurt in addition to a hot item which changed daily. Some of the hot items we were served were chilaquiles, enchiladas, omelette, etc. They also offer brewed coffee which was pretty good, tea and juice. The hotel also offers a happy hour from 6-8pm when they serve beers, wine, etc. All of the hotel staff were very nice, attentive, friendly and helpful.

The hotel is close enough to a metro station, which is an experience to be had at least once while in CDMX, but Uber is pretty much ubiquitous, safe, cheap and more convenient. Be aware though of travel times since traffic in this city is ridiculous. The hotel doesn't have a parking area per se but there's some street parking available. Although I don't know if I would be ever be brave enough to drive in this city. Do settle your account with dollars at check out if you can as they usually give a very favorable rate.

We loved our stay at The Red Tree House. We were actually in one of the two bedroom apartments, which was beautifully decorated. This apartment had a balcony overlooking the street which added to the charm. Since the location is in the quiet area of Condesa we had no street noise to bother.
Victor and the entire staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. They served a delicious breakfast each morning and very generous pours of good wines for happy hour.
The staff all helped make recommendations on restaurants and sites to see.
And, for those of use with sub-par Spanish, Victor and the staff helped us in perfect English!
Will be back here on our next trip to Mexico for sure!

My wife and I stayed here for five nights at the beginning of our trip to Mexico and one at the end. It was a completely lovely experience-both rooms were immaculate, quiet and comfortable. The decor of the hotel was striking with original art in all the public spaces and in both our rooms. The entire staff was attentive, charming, bilingual and unfailingly helpful. Victor, the office manager, was able to arrange visits for us to places I had been unable to access from Canada. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and happy hour each evening was fun and gave us a chance to meet other guests and exchange ideas about the city-don’t miss it. We recommend the RTH without reservation and only hope our next visit will be soon (and longer). In

The Red Tree House proved to be the perfect choice. Its location in the quiet, leafy La Condesa neighborhood made it a calm respite from El Centro while being in walking and metro distance to other neighborhoods and sites. My junior suite was well appointed and the bed very comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious.

But ultimately what makes RTH so special is the staff and the ambiance they create, making it comfortable to talk with other guests at breakfast and/or happy hour and chat with them. My particular thanks to Victor, Germán and Juan.

We just did a quick 3 Day 2 Night trip to Mexico City and stayed in the Studio Suite at the Red Tree House. We could not have been happier! This property is incredible. Its located in a great residential neighborhood, plenty of restaurants, coffee shops within easy walking distance. The Host Victor welcomes you immediately when you arrive and treats you like family.

The breakfast in the morning is delicious and the evening happy hour is a great way to unwind from your day exploring before heading out for Dinner. We met several couples that had stayed there multiple times already, and its easy to see why. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else the next time we visit CDMX.

The Red Tree House is a must stay. Viktor and Luis were incredible hosts, really made us feel welcome. The breakfasts were authentic and fresh, and set us up for the day. The art work in the building and the room are unreal, and have really been chosen well. They look expensive, so the art isn't just Mexican rip-off, it's proper gallery standard, some with art glass, so the building has the air of a gallery, a real personal collection.

The bed is extremely comfortable, the bathroom is huge, we stayed in the Junior Suite. There was a safe, an ironing board too. Location is fantastic, you're right in the thick of it but feel very safe as there are two massive gates before entering, plus 24/7 concierge helping with whatever you need.

There was a 6-8pm happy hour with drinks on the house, as a sort of mingling thing before people went out for dinner.

We love coming back to the Red Tree House. The breakfast is wonderful and the evening wine hour is so much fun. It is a great place to meet other travelers and share stories. the rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. We love the location as you can walk most places in the area for a fine dinner or a casual meal. The staff is outstanding and that is the part that keeps drawing us back.

I have just returned from the most incredible trip to Mexico City, one of the highlights is without a doubt my stay at The Red Tree House.
Everything good you read about this hotel is true and more! From the moment I arrived to the day I left, I felt at home thanks to the exceptionally welcoming staff, and the beauty & comfort of the hotel space.
I was fortunate to stay in the Penthouse whilst some of the party I was travelling with stayed in the apartments next door; both offering unique vibes with good attention to detail (from the amenities, the layout, and the artwork). It is very quiet & peaceful at night, and the beds are very comfortable.
The home cooked breakfasts were simply delicious and always served with a smile by Victor who truly is a ray of sunshine, vivacious, kind and authentic.
The staff really are one of the hotel's assets; friendly, helpful, and gave me an insight into Mexican people & their culture. It was lovely to meet Alejandro who I think we met almost daily over breakfast, he's got a great sense of humour and is a real connector across people and values.

On the practical side, the location could not be better, it's close to so many cafes, restaurants, and suitably located for Uber pick ups & drop offs, with the Amsterdam circuit a stone's throw away, which is popular for dog walking, promenades & running. All the email communication I had with The Red Tree House prior to my arrival was always answered within 12-24 hours, they even recommended a tour company who we used during our stay.
I can see why this place gets booked up so far in advance. I look forward to staying here again.

Urged on to Mexico City by friends, I didn't know what to expect, now I want to go back. The Red Tree House is an excellent B&B, providing a setting that promotes meeting others or privacy. I looked forward to the delicious breakfast every morning, served by cheerful staff. The additional efficient staff provided us with much needed information on exploring Mexico, made our dinner reservations and dear Victor was most kind in trying to return my forgotten belongings.

My husband and I and two other couples recently stayed at the Red Tree House. We immediately felt at home - the accommodation was clean and comfortable (we stayed in a suite overlooking the lovely courtyard). It was the staff that made our stay even more special. All very friendly and helpful, with restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. There are several living rooms and we were welcome to sit in them at any time. The breakfasts were delicious and the happy hour each night was an opportunity to meet other guests and compare travel notes. Victor went out of his way and used his own credit card to make us reservations on an inner city bus - we would not have been able to make the bookings as we were from out of the country. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. I would recommend this B and B without hesitation.

Hola! Thanks a lot for writing to us. You can either walk there, take a taxi or do Uber. It is not complicated at all. As for going to the National Palace, also Uber, taxi or taking the metro is a veer reliable and unexpensive option. Have a great day! Saludos, Carlos.

Centro Historico is not that close from Condesa neighbourhood, it will take you around 25-30 mins to get there in a car. Other transportation you can take is the metro, very cheap and easy to use. For walking distance we would recommend wander around Condesa neighbourhood or Roma neighbourhood as well. I hope this information helps you. Let us know if you have any other questions. Saludos, Carlos.

If it's the apt next door it's incredible- the art is great. They are collectors particularly of Mexican contemporary artists- but it doesn't matter what room you stay in all are fabulous. It's the only place we'll stay in DF. We try to go a couple of time a year as we are only 2hr direct flight. But it's getting harder to find a date!!! We'll be there in Oct. and can't wait. Book it you won't regret it.
