The staff were all friendly and helpful, except for the people who work at the cafe. Both times I went there they ignored me and weren't friendly at all. The food was good though. There's an Oxxo (convenience store) a few buildings down if you need it, and the hotel is right in the heart of Centro, with tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. The room was quiet, and there are refrigerators on each floor with free bottles of water. The A/C and lights only work when you enter your key card into a slot in the wall. The lotion was clearly used (see pic) which was disappointing, and the hair dryer kept sparking and shutting off, but otherwise the room appeared to be clean.

Excellent hotel due to : location, personnel, many amenities including very clean & well-outfitted gym, breakfast, 24/7 cafe w/ varied menu, bottled water & apples on each floor, working safe & mini fridge in room. Located close to Marathon finish line, runners could be observed from balcony. Its location in historic center made walking to historic synagogue, Museum of Memory/Tolerance, including Ann Frank exhibit, Palacio Nacional (Diego Rivero Murals), Templo Mayor, Cathedral, Palacio de Belles Artes historic building (watch the Ballet Folklorico, visit its museum & bookstore), and the famous Churros place, as well as to other restaurants, all walkable. All staff were outstanding, professional, friendly & helpful. Some of the individuals who made my stay comfortable & pleasant were: Beatriz, who cheerfully helped keep my room clean and well stocked, Arturo, Luis and Chef Jose who made each breakfast a special occasion (I miss the omelettes with mushrooms and squash blossoms), Amsi at the front desk, and: DIDIER: a magician, expertly making luggage fit into impossibly small spaces! A free walking tour is offered, I wish I had had time to take it. AND: I didn't get the name of the always present doorman who reached out a hand to assist a homeless man who tripped on the yellow phone cable streching down the sidewalk, but I appreciated that gesture very much. If I have a chance to return to Mexico City, this would be my first choice.

Very modern hotel with comfortable beds and nicely sized rooms. Breakfast was delicious and included pastries, hot dishes, and cold breakfast items. We loved that the cafe was open 24 hours and that we were able to pick up water, sodas, and snacks, all included in the price of our room, as well as breakfast. We also appreciated that there were cold waters in a fridge on each floor right outside of the elevator. The AC in the room kept us very cool. The service was terrific, the waiters, concierge, and front desk/door staff were kind and knowledgeable. It was very easy to get an Uber from the hotel. Absolutely no complaints and would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location allows you to walk to the Zocalo, Temple de Mayor, Museo des Belles Artes, among other tourist spots. Also has good Metro access. The rooms are clean, quiet and the people who work there are so friendly and accomodating and not only do you get breakfast included, but you can also order sandwiches, beer and salads for free 24 hours at their cafe by the front door. And there is free bottled water on every floor in the fridge. Some of the food is just okay which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

The hotel was a misery, a comedy of errors. We paid approximately $324 per night, really hoping for a lovely hotel to enjoy our first vacation in a long time due to illness. It was awful. The food at the take-out cafe at the front of the hotel is really terrible. Glass of wine is $9.95. Free beer is weak and tasteless. Our room was very sparsely furnished. Our “window” looked out on a dark enclosed area full of generators. Most of the room was lite with stark white light. Despite the front desk telling us there was English TV, there definitely was not. We had 4 or 5 coffee cups but only 1 caf and 1 decaf coffee pod. Concierge told us Day of the Dead parade was at 10 or 11am and made a reservation for us for 10:00 at a very expensive lovely rooftop restaurant overlooking the Zocalo, a great place to view the parade. Turns out the parade was at 2:00 and would not reach the Zocalo till 4. They told us the streets around the hotel would be blocked off for the parade and we should plan our transportation needs accordingly. They did not tell us people would not be able to reach the hotel on foot. I spent 4 hours till 8 at night waiting at the barricade in thick crowds by myself. I could go on and on, but won’t. I will not stay here again. Daniel was a light in this miserable place.

It is extremely rare for a hotel to reach perfection but in the case of the Hotel Histérico Central it is precisely what gives me pleasure to report. Above all, the attention of the representatives—Valeria and Alberto, and their colleagues—was always pleasant, genuine and complete. The spacious bedrooms, the comfortable beds, the bathrooms stocked with items beyond the ordinary—shaving razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste; large shower with sufficient amount of hot water, small refrigerator, etc. In addition, a cafeteria offering soft drinks, soups, sandwiches, and more 24 hours a day and at no cost to the customer. Breakfast prepared to the client's taste, from “pancakes” and “omelettes” to Chilaquiles and enfrijoladas. The waiters—Roberto and his colleagues—are excellent in their treatment and efficiency. We stayed at the hotel for five nights, one of them was my birthday and upon returning to the bedroom, I was surprised to see the bedroom decorated with balloons, Mexican folkloric items, And sweets in celebration of my birthday—along with a message of happiness from the hotel manager. We travel the world a lot, and my wife told me that for her it was the best hotel we've ever stayed in — and I'm happy to completely agree with her.

We had a wonderful 7 day stay at Hotel Historico Central.
Check in and check out were smooth (2300 in, 0645 out).
Staff:
Courteous and efficient front office, concierge and bellmen.
The front office responded to emails within 12 hours.
The cleaning staff were efficient and pleasant
Room:
We had a balcony room facing Simon Bolivar.
It was very nice with 14 foot ceilings, a modern bathroom, a large comfortable bed and ample drawers.
The shower was large with soap, shampoo and conditioner.
Shaving supplies, toothpaste and mouthwash were provided.
There was a small safe, a chair, a desk, a TV and a medium refrigerator.
They even provided a small bottle of wine.
Despite a street facing location, it was very quiet at night except for occasional car alarms.
Food:
Breakfast was included, starting at 7 AM.
There was a good selection of hot and cold food, Mexican and European, with courteous, efficient servers.
The only negative was the shortage of tables within 15 minutes of opening.
There's a very nice 24 hour cafe (included in the price) with salads, sandwiches, coffee and soda.
Ample supplies of cold bottled water were available on every floor, along with comfortable couches and chairs.
All of the above within 1 mile of major sites and many restaurants in a very safe area.
We travel a lot.
This is overall one of the best hotels we've stayed in.

We stayed at the Historico Central for 10 days in March. We had one of the best stays at a hotel ever! The staff at the hotel are absolutely the best. The staff at the front desk made check in and out very easy. They greeted us each time we returned from outings, as did all other staff. Each morning there is a free breakfast. Breakfast is made to order off a menu, not buffet, and it was delicious! Wait staff were courteous and prompt, even when they were very busy. Concierge staff were amazing from helping us book tours to recommendations for dinner. The rooms were very comfortable. Every floor has a small refrigerator outside of the elevator filled with bottled water. The hotel has a small deli that serves sandwiches, salads, soups all at no cost, 24/7. The location of the hotel is perfect for walking to many of the sights and museums. There was even a free walking tour provided by the hotel. We will definitely return and would encourage anyone looking for a small, homey hotel to stay at in Mexico City to check out the Historico Central!

My wife and I stayed one night to celebrate our 16the wedding anniversary. Everything was managed in an excellent way. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient including the valet parking arrangements in a complicated part of the city, the rooms were carefully detailed and very clean, the bed was comfy, and breakfast from the menu was included as was a 24 hour cafe service and free beer!
Free beer? Yes, that is correct.
The hotel itself is a magnificently remodeled nineteenth century building in the heart of the city. We had a great time and I highly recommend the Hotel Historic Central.

The bed was very soft as well as the pillows, the bathroom was big and beautiful, everything was always very clean, the food was very delicious and everything is very central, close to everything most touristy in the city. But what I liked most was the service from the staff, everyone was very friendly, from the concierges to the lobby employees, especially the kitchen workers and waiters. Everyone made us feel very welcome and I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future. ❤️❤️❤️ Even if it's just one night, it's so worth it 😌
