Such a unique and beautiful property! Little details make a property for me and this place certainly put an emphasis on those - from lighting a candle in front of my door, to great housekeeping, remembering my breakfast order. The staff are very attentive and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy.

Rooms are modern, and unique. Comfortable beds; there are no traditional windows but the doors have windows that open so it is easy to get light and air in that way. Room was very quiet and wifi was perfect for remote work. Yes the room is a bit dark but they did provide me with additional light. Reading all the reviews I was expecting the room to get flooded after a shower but as long as you put a towel as a mat in front of the shower, you will have no issues whatsoever. Location of the hotel is great for seeing the city.

Hotel downtown is perfectly located for exploring the Zocalo region of Mexico City. The rooftop pool and bar are absolutely brilliant, and I can’t recommend the mezcal cocktails highly enough. Breakfast is great, there’s a selection of buffet foods and you can also order hot food. We found the breakfast staff to be very friendly and helpful, although I suggest buying your own bottled water, there are bottles put out in the morning that you think are free but actually get charged to your room. The rooms are a bit dark and characterless, but the rest of the building more than makes up for it as it’s a stunning place overall.

We are so happy we decided to stay in downtown hotel. The location is perfect
The hospitality is great
Charlie from F&B was very helpful and was speaking fluent english which helped us choose the best mezcal cocktails and get whatever we needed around the hotel.
Ulisis at the reception helped us with getting around the city with his great recommendations.

Food was amazing! Especially the bakery and the roof top food and menu. Good value for ur money

The one thing we didn’t like was the lighting in the room. It was too dark BUT when we asked the reception for a extra lamp or something, they immediately gave us one that lit the room like we wanted.

Everything else was very pleasant 😊

I am lying in bed under a pounding disco at 1am totally unable to think never mind sleep. We were told there may be a little noise fro a party on the roof, but this is disco war zone with stomping feet and screeching chairs. The hotel should not rent rooms on NYE in future if they hold a party like this, but I guess greed got the better of them, so a few hundred punters handing over $usd100 trump the hotel guests who pay $usd 350 for the pleasure of lying awake all night. The worst night in a hotel I have EVER spent.

The best part about Hotel Downtown is the staff! Best hotel staff I have ever experienced! Welcoming, generous, helpful. Location is excellent easy walking in the Centro district. We were there on a weekend so it was very crowded. I think all should be aware on sat night there is a rooftop dance club and the music is loud, I found earplugs essential. great breakfast offered at hotel and the very busy restaurant downstairs is worth trying, we wanted until 9:00 pm and got in easily. Room is comfy, clean a bit dark. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Hotel Downtown.

This hotel has a great central location in the romantic old town right near the Zocalo. The staff are great - helpful and cheerful and nothing was too much trouble.

Special mention must be made of Andrea in reception...she went gone out of her way to be helpful and is kind and caring with a ready smile - a great asset

Also Francisco in F&B was most helpful in arranging special meals...and the chef is a great artist! (The food tastes good too!).

For me the highlight of the hotel was the rooftop pool with sauna and the alfresco restaurant adjacent. It has great views over the rooftops of the historic centre and was a wonderful spot to relax after work.

Muchas gracias for a great stay!

Can’t say enough about this boutique hotel in the center of Mexico City. The property is totally unique with 17 quaint guest rooms and a well-trained staff that fully understands hospitality. From the start, it was very clear that the front desk manager, Jesús Chavez, was going to do everything possible to make our stay exceptional. He and his staff made sure that our entire visit was filled with satisfaction and enjoyment. The property is unique, beautiful and truly memorable. The breakfast lounge has many options and the rooftop restaurant is perfect for lighter meals and drinks. There are also two independent restaurants on the property that serve amazing food. A big plus is the location of the hotel which is within walking distance to parks, museums, shopping and endless dining options. Most importantly, the entire staff was outstanding and very eager to provide professional service throughout our entire stay.

This is a great place to stay in to visit Mexico City. The staff are really helpful and the rooms are clean, comfortable and stylish. The hotel is really well designed, with a lounge for breakfast that is pretty unbeatable.

There is also a great roof terrace with a good sized concrete pool, very photogenic, however the water is so cold nobody ever gets In. Such a shame. This was in summer. It doesn’t change. As a result the atmosphere is dead and all you have is the room.

So close to being one of the worlds greatest boutique hotels. Would also suggest that breakfast staff blatantly hustling for tips when breakfast is included in the room is a little odd.

But....A fantastic spot to stay, get your Covid tests and explore the city. Just could be so much more....

You will fall in love with this small hotel. Once a castle to a contessa, this restored hotel is unique and beautiful.

The rooms are minimalistic but have an amazing Mexican glam to them. We stayed for a week and fell in love with this property. The rooftop pool is amazing and doesn't feel like you're in CDMX.

A few recommendations:
-get the bed and breakfast package. The breakfast service is a modern and delicious take on Mexican cuisine
-take advantage of the many sights and restaurants in the area.
-don't bother with the hotel transfer that the hotel offers. This would be my only complain. The money the hotel charges is a lot more than what you'd pay for a secure uber fro the airport.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Great location. Food you'll love. Warm staff.

Better than any other hotel in downtown CDMX.

I stayed at this place before and it was near perfect. The breakfast was superb, the pool although ice cold was lovely and the cocktails were amazing along with the food. However this time round, I was bombarded with a request to tip at the free breakfast. To add insult to injury the waitress (she knows who she is) decided to enter her own amount of tip because I left the receipt empty. I only found out at the end of my stay at check out. Throughout the whole stay she requested a tip at breakfast and when i refused, she gave me the “death stare”.
This tipping procedure must have been implemented in 2021 because in 2020 there were not this hard sell with the card machine to add a tip in any of the resorts I visited. I don’t object to tipping but they can’t expect a tip on a free breakfast or even when the service is bad.
Sadly the room I was in was not fit for purpose. The lighting was extremely poor, even worse than the previous year. To make matters worse, non guests of the hotel are not allowed in the pool area EVEN if a guest invites someone else to have a drink at the pool area. It’s an unusual rule considering they are also paying customers.
Sadly I won’t be returning. The food and drink are amazing but the service and rooms are a bit of a let down.

The cost would be of USD 335 Independence Suite and USD 405 Revolution suite per night for 2 people with breakfast included taxes are already included in this price. I can inform you that we do offer a pick-up service at a cost of 45USD for up to 3 people more than 3 the price increases to USD 90. Kind regards, Aramara Vizcaino Chief Concierge
