We just got back from a 4 night stay here. Was a little nervous about some lukewarm reviews I'd read online, but we really loved our stay here. It's obvious they had to make some serious design choices since this used to be an office building and university (specifically, no wall separating the bathroom and bed area, actually getting to the Wooftop and spa, or having to take two specific elevators to get to the rooftop restaurant and pool), but that said, the room was comfortable and the staff are AMAZING.

If I had to complain, it would be that the breakfast options are limited, and because we travel with a 4 year old and 10 month old, the seating arrangement of the breakfast restaurant was really not good (no high chair for infants, chairs that are too high or too low for 4 year olds). However, that was remedied by doing room service our last 3 out of the 4 nights. There are actually more options on the room service menu and we were just altogether more comfortable eating in our room than at Derba. I'm not sure if it's because the staff liked me, or if they do it for all globalists, but they completely wiped off all breakfast charges including the room service delivery charge. It was all adjusted at check out.

Some people complain about the pool here, but we loved it. Yes, you are swimming in front of a restaurant full of people because the pool glass is very, very, clear, but we didn't care. The pool is heated and our last two days felt like a bathtub in the best way possible. So relaxing. My girls LOVED it.

I am a globalist and booked an Andaz Suite using an SUA. We were further upgraded the day before to City View Suite. I believe it's the same layout but just on a higher floor. The room is slightly cramped, but not that bad for a city hotel AND there are two full bathrooms. No bathtub unfortunately, but two showers. The bathroom in the living room is separate and properly divided off by walls. The bedroom bathroom, as mentioned above, however, is not. I hope you're comfortable with your partner as they will be able to hear you pooping.

People say the layout of the hotel is confusing, but I disagree. You have to have a pretty terrible sense of direction to not find your way around and see that the Mondrian and Andaz are two completely different entrances. Also, the staff knew me by name when I got out of the uber and immediately walked us to the lobby.

The staff are INCREDIBLE. They made my wife's birthday celebration something truly special!!

Loved: Friendliness of the staff and their attention to detail. They made us feel so welcome from the minute we arrived. Super convenient - a couple of blocks to the Subway (Metro), and steps away from the Metrobus (which is a very good option). No issues getting around the city. Facility is beautiful, well appointed. Very pleasing with the natural wood look. Great gym for weights/machines.
Things we didn't like so much (but tiny issues in the grand scheme): Rooms small and too many decorations, flyers, etc. so no work space unless you put a bunch of things away. TV enormous and blocked the view almost completely. Pool is pretty but almost useless. Doesn't open until 9am (I like to swim laps early in the a.m.) any you can't lay out by the pool because there is no deck - only three lounge chairs which are actually in the water in the shallow end. Not really sure what the purpose of that pool is, and feels like it's in the middle of the bar/restaurant. Housekeeping had some weak spots related ot restocking coffee, replacing coffee mugs, etc.

Overall though, we loved it and would definitely return.

Many of us were staying here for a wedding. Location is good. Staff are friendly and concierge was helpful in arranging tours and transportation but it’s way cheaper to Uber on your own. I personally don’t like hotel rooms without any bathroom doors, I like privacy in the bathroom so not my preferred layout. They also placed a cement/marble shelf in the shower for the towels that was just around my height - could easily hit your head showering so be careful. You aren’t able to adjust the room temperature on your own which is inconvenient - it was quite cold in December they had it set to Air Conditioning but they are quick to answer via WhatsApp and assist that way. I requested a quiet room before arrival, but if you didn’t, the street noise is very loud and you will need earplugs to sleep. Many of the wedding guests had this feedback - the walls are very thin. The food in the both hotels (Mondrian included) were pretty good, the cafe is convenient for a breakfast but they sell out of items quickly and were a bit slow.

As a Globalist member, I can attest the service here is not up to par with Hyatt’s standards. The gentleman at the front desk to check guest in was aloof and had no costumer service skills. Be warned if you’re staying here, do not stay on the lower floors, especially room 404. Otherwise, you will not be able to sleep. You could hear everything; people walking in the hallway, people talking, noise from the street, neighboring rooms… it was so bad. I was switched to room 1410 and it was better, but noise was still heard from the streets. This is a new nice hotel, but insulation is a huge problem. During my stay, multiple guests were complaining about the noise.

The gym is nice and modern. I’d recommend bringing your own water bottle. They have signs saying complementary bottled water, but never actually had bottled water.

The breakfast is mediocre. It wasn’t good, but it wasn’t bad. Although the eggs were burnt, the papaya wasn’t ripe, and the waffles were soggy.

When I checked in, I was told everything in the mini fridge is complimentary, but I was skeptical and knew better, so I asked another employee and they said it’s not. Luckily, I didn’t drink anything from the mini-fridge. So much misinformation during my stay here.

Andaz emailed me weeks in advance and had me fill out a questionnaire stating my preferences, allergies, accommodations, etc. It was pointless because nothing I wrote on there was considered and even when I checked into my room, my thank you/greeting card was for Mr. Edison (I’m Mr. Ortiz).

I reached out to the hotel in advance stating I was looking forward to the rooftop pool and they responded. Well to my surprise, the rooftop ended up being closed for private events, so my stay was pointless. I asked why they didn’t tell me that when I was inquiring about the pool, but they said they had no idea private events were occurring. I find that hard to believe.

They also don’t start serving drinks until 1 pm if you wanted to drink by the pool when a private event isn’t renting out the space.

This hotel has a lot of potential, it’s too bad it doesn’t meet Hyatt’s standards. And it’s definitely unfortunate nothing can be done about the noise. Do yourself a favor and just stay at Hyatt Regency in Polanco. There’s a night and day difference between the two with Hyatt Regency being a 5 star service hotel.

I've been a big fan of Andaz and so glad that CDMX now has more Hyatt options including this one. I was excited to try this new one out although was a bit wary with the reviews as it seemed like there were still some kinks to be worked out. Overall, my stay was comfortable and I would stay here again primarily for the location. My flight came in late and checked in nearly at 12 midnight and the staff was ready to welcome and escort me to my room with a warm smile. The common spaces are nice and trendy. The room was a bit dark and wish the windows were larger like the new HR down the road. The room served us well as a base as we were out most of the day and night. As for the amenities, I checked out the rooftop pool and like others mentioned, you're either in the water or not, and there's really no place to lounge poolside as the space is tight and butts up next to the restaurant. The water was very warm though and I would have enjoyed taking a dip. The gym is quite nice, although not huge, has excellent equipment including several Peloton treads which I was eager to try. The spa was having a promo so I took advantage of a deep tissue massage at a deal I couldn't pass up and it was more than it's worth. Kudos to Elsa, my masseuse! Between this new Andaz and the new HR, I would choose this for my next trip.

This place was at the perfect location for shopping and dining for the fabulous area of Condesa with their many cafes and restaurants. We walked everywhere very safe must places are blocks away with the longest walk was 15 mins to some Restaurants in Roma Norte.. Rooms were spacious, rooftop had amazing views although pool is very small and very cold in December. Concierge was very helpful Fernando, Ivan and Arturo were great at helping us choose from the many restaurant choices and cafes make sure to use them!!.

Excellent hotel. Although this is a 4 star, it feels like 5. It's the kind of place where they carry your luggage in without asking, after check-in someone shows you to your room while explaining the amenities and layout, and if you ask where breakfast is they don't just point, they walk you there. The rooms are on the small side but stylishly appointed and comfortable. The location is excellent, in the beautifully green Condesa neighborhood just a short walk from Parque Mexico and seemingly hundreds of delicious restaurants and cafes. Highly recommend.

As a couple in our mid 70's we felt barrage at check in with people moving fast to grab our luggage and usher us to a separate floor/room for check in which multiple people offer us drinks and urge us to wait without explain, what exactly we are waiting for and how long. We went to roof top for dinner where the view was great, but the DJ music was blaring so we could not hear ourselves talk. The room was modern looking but he lighting was simultaneously glaring and too dark. The angular marble sink splashed water on the mirror behind and my clothes in front. I did find the bed comfortable and eventually found housekeeping and café staff who seemed calmly and genuinely interested in understanding and meeting our needs rather than the initial barrage of people whose solicitousness was formulaic.

The staff and great location help make up for a very noisy guest room experience. Noise from rooftop club, street noise, renos, sound transfer between walls. Housekeeping service needs improvement. Clean but would not replace towels they took away.

Having stayed in an Andaz before, I expected a luxury hotel. The overall hotel was pretty looking but I agree with someone else who said this hotel is definitely style over substance. The reason we picked this hotel was to stay in the Condesa neighborhood.

1) our first room had a sewage smell that was barely perceptible day 1 but seemed to build with each day such that we moved on day 3. 2nd room that we changed to developed that smell but by then, we were checking out in the morning and just kept the bathroom door shut. It was coming from the toilet.

2) 2nd room had issues with A/C control and had to have someone come up twice to fix it.

3) the windows here are very thin and you can hear all the traffic which gets loud if you are on the lower floors.

4) I would have preferred they spend money on function and not on having a record player in the rooms with 2 records which we are unlikely to use. Lighting as these rooms were dark with little lighting. In addition, the bathrooms had only 1 towel hook in there so if you are more than 1 person, you need to hang the 2nd towel in the closet. At least Mexico City is extremely dry so everything dries quickly.

5) gym was pretty decent. Multiple bikes/treadmills. An area to do yoga or stretch. Would be great to have a foam roller here but that’s not crucial. The only weird thing here is that you enter the gym from the spa so when the spa is closed, it’s not self explanatory how to enter

6) the rooftop seemed nice. We didn’t actually swim but we did go up there for a drink. The pool itself seemed small and there were only a couple chairs if you intended to lounge poolside.

7) if you are a dog lover, there is a cute little dog friendly restaurant/bar called “Wooftop”.

Not sure. They do that at every resort now. Same with Marriott and their elites. Never an upgrade even at 30% occupancy. I will say Hyatt is better than bonvoy though.

It can be noisy depending on where your room is located. If you're above the Skybar, then yes it could be loud— try and request a room that doesn't face its location. My room faced Cda. Tlaxcala and there was no disturbance at all.
