Amazing experience here at Puerto Vallarta and canto del sol. Couldn’t have asked for more from the hotel. Everyone is very polite, friendly and attentive. Reception staff are helpful, the bell boys are great and special shout out to the bar/restaurant staff. Jorge was especially great, he works extremely hard, very friendly and will always get you what you want from the bar without even having to ask. The restaurants on site are- Japanese, Italian and Mexican. They are essentially all you can eat as you can order anything you would like from the menu. Again, the waiters/waitresses were brilliant. There is also an all you can eat buffet, lots of traditional Mexican dishes. The snack bar is also pretty much open all day so you’ll never go hungry. There are 3 pools at the hotel, the main pool is very big and has lots of activities on throughout the day. The entertainment guys were very fun and got everyone involved. You can use the hotels towels for around the pool with your free towel card when you arrive. Spacious rooms. They were spotless every day they were refreshed, clean towels given daily. The maids were brilliant. The hotel is around 10 minutes drive from malecon which is the main strip of restaurants and bars. It’s also around 10 minutes to the marina where lots of excursions take off from. The location is great and only around a 20 minute drive to/from the airport. The beach is right next to the hotel, you can see it from the pool. Waves are quite choppy and not an awful amount of sunbeds although still lovely to be able to watch the beach/sea as you are lounging about by the pool. There are nearby beaches that have clearer water and possibly better for swimming, we asked our TUI rep for different beaches nearby (around 20-30 minutes away). Lots of Mexicans stay at the hotel although this is what makes the experience. Lots of activities to do in surrounding areas, including zip lines, beach trips, boat rides, horse riding, visits to local towns, snorkelling… etc! The hotel couldn’t have been better and we will definitely be going back to Puerto vallarta!

The ceviche restaurant and breakfast were excellent. Lunch and dinner buffet not very good. The lobby bar and drinks were really great and we had excellent service from Adan who made the cocktails and made our visit really welcoming and great.

Came here with TUI on an all inclusive package. Same price as a trip to Greece, (probably because it’s coming into their wet season), so I thought why not? The weather has been good, the food fine in the buffet restaurant and better in the specialty ones. The staff are friendly and obliging, so if their English isn’t great and they mistake your drinks order, they will change it no problem. The locals are equally friendly, unlike stories I’ve heard about Cancun.

We managed to get a real bargain over the xmas period and it was the most incredible stay. Yes the rooms need some TLC but you can tell that from the photos and research and you cant let that sway you from this place. FOOD INCREDIBLE STAFF INCREDIBLE LOCATION BRILLIANT Sea was a little choppy , gym is terrible and the rooms are shabby but the pools are fab , the drinks are great , the service is friendly and the hotel in general deserves a 4 star but staff a 5 star :) - I would and will def return

Our fifth time in Mexico and first time in Puerto Vallarta! First let me say that the people at the resort were amazing and very hardworking! But we had problems with everything… our room had a leaking sink, the safe wasn’t working, key would not work on several occasions, the room wasn’t cleaned a few times and no fresh towels were left etc. The issues were fixed, but we felt that we were property managers rather than guests. We had to call/ ask for everything. The worst thing is the beach… 20-ish beach umbrellas, rocky beach, and quite strong currents, so if you are beach lovers like we are- this is not the place for you. Food was terrible!!! We are not very picky, but this was not a 4 start or a $7000 worth vacation. WestJet should reconsider what partnerships they form and which hotels they will offer for their clients. The hotel simply does not meet North American standards and it doesn’t come close to our previous experiences in Mexico.

I loved my experience at Canto del Sol. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was lovely, the pool area was loads of fun, the view of the ocean was soothing, the restaurants had yummy food and excellent service, and there were some fun activities and performances to enjoy. I was there in early June, and I loved that there were lots of Mexican families vacationing there from other parts of the country. If they wanted to be there, then the place must be good, right? The highlights for me: --At the Guest Services counter, Paola and her sidekick (I wish I remembered his name--his English was excellent, as he had lived some years in Georgia, in Estados Unidos) were funny, helpful, down to Earth, and became my buddies while I was there. --Rene, one of the leaders of the recreation/activities crew--he led the daily water aerobics classes, as well as kids' activities and lobby bar bingo--was one of my favorite people I've ever met. He was funny, charming, helpful, caring, an excellent leader, and just a fantastic embassador for Canto del Sol. He deserves a raise! --The Mexican restaurant (I can't remember the name--you had to cross the sky bridge to the adjacent property to get to it) was a fantastic experience. The food was luscious, the view of the mountains was beautiful, the staff (especially handsome Javier) were gracious and lovely. I enjoyed it so much it brought a tear to my eye--literally! --Lounging by the pool and taking an occasional swim was pure delight. I loved all the plants in the pool area, the occasional giant iguana, the birds flying overhead, the music in the air (I loved that they played relaxing music in the morning, then around noon they started playing more upbeat tunes), the excellent and friendly service of the pool area drink servers (I mean, how luxurious, to have a lovely Mexican gentleman check in regularly to ask if you'd like another drink?!?), the view of the ocean, the happy Mexican kids and their loving families enjoying themselves, getting a workout with Rene and Andres' water aerobics classes, etc. I could go on and on! --If I could only remember the names of all the different staff members I encountered, I would list them all. I was only there Friday through Tuesday, but I felt that so many of them became my friends while I was there. There were so many that were warm, friendly, funny, and kind. I came to Canto del Sol to relax, unwind and get away from my responsibilities for a few days, and enjoy the ocean, the climate, the plants, the people, and the food of Mexico. I'm well aware that staying in an all-inclusive, touristy resort is completely different than enjoying a true cultural experience of being in a smaller town off the beaten track in Mexico, but this is what I wanted--to be taken care of, and to enjoy everything with as little effort as possible. And that's what I got! You will have as positive an experience as you want. The level of positivity that you contribute to it and expect from it will set the tone. What you give out in your attitude will be returned. The experience at Canto del Sol, for me, was wonderful.

My family and I arrived to the lobby to check-in with the Timeshare Administrator. I thought the check-in went well until we arrived to our room. While doing the check-in I had confirmed if our rooms had view to the sea (as it was requested when scheduling the visit via email and I had to pay extra for it- through points). Our surprise was that our rooms did NOT have you instead there was a building and right in front of it. I have to walk down to the lobby again and of course she made the switch to a suite by doubling the points. No apology was given. Poor customer service. Later at night, when we went to the dining room to have dinner, he servers looked upset and bothered when my family and I were waiting to be seated, we did NOT feel welcomed and the rest of the night did not get better. The hostess who took the order for our drinks “forgot” to tell the server what they were and 15 min later we had to ask for them again. Poor customer service. When we try using the jacuzzi we found out that it was not working so I had to make 2 calls, and a visit to the lobby before someone came to fix. Poor customer service. The safe was close in I had to make three calls and a visit to the lobby to have it reset. Poor customer service. The servers on the pool or very patient with everyone and help everyone very well. 👌 Well done!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The best experiences were at the Japanese and Italian restaurants where everyone was very happy and helpful while serving dinner and the food was great!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
