“Hostal Mazatlan / Hostel” it is a contemporary building of the 1900’s located in the historic downtown. It is a Project of Young entrepreneur from Mazatlan. We begin the day with a dark Mexican cup of coffee (like should be), fresh fruit and a delicious banana bread made it by us, that is our breakfast! Just 5 blocks from the “Mercado Municipal Pino Suarez”, considered the heart of the city with more than 100 years of history, where you can get a wide variety of regional products as well as souvenirs. 7 blocks from “paseo Olas Altas” the best place to enjoy the sunset with fresh seafood and a refreshing drink. If you´re interested about history we are located a few blocks from the Anthropology Museum, Art museum, Archeology Museum, the Angela Peralta theatre and the Cathedral. You can explore the city riding a bike along the 11 km of the “malecon”, also hike one of the highest natural and operating lighthouse in the world, we will lend you a bike.

I spent 3 nights in this centrally located hostel. The breakfast was nice with 3 kind of fruits, coffee and banana cake. The dorm has only 6 beds and the restroom is attached with hot water in the shower. The hostel also offers free of charge towels. The hostel has a nice terrace with hot tub. The kitchen is also well equipped. The staff particularly Daniel is extremely nice, helpful and friendly. He did all my bookings on the phone for my next destination since I do not carry my cell phone. I highly recommend this hostel to travelers like me and I would be back if I would have to spend some time in Mazatlan.

The hostal staff were very courteous and I had a good time. I stayed in a single room for three days which was clean and the location is good. The best part was the bike rentals, although they have older bikes you can use for free. I upgraded to a new bike for 40 pesos. This by far is the best way to explore the boardwalk and surrounding area. I had a good time. Also they have a mango tree there, free mango smoothies, fresh off the tree. Thanks everyone.

I had high hopes for this place, but as a solo traveller it was terrible. It felt like a concentration camp with no windows in rooms, uncomfortable beds, disappointing breakfast, and dirty bathrooms. Staff made no effort to have activities to help meet other guests and treated me like a number.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Of course, to begin with, it is a relatively simple hostel. The private rooms are fairly large with airconditioning and good bathrooms. The communal kitchen is more than adequate, and the terrace next to the kitchen is a common area for most of the residents to socialize (this is a very social hostel with a great vibe). The owners have thought about a lot of the small things that make a visit easier: filtered water throughout, free bikes to cruise the beaches, and even a jacuzzi on the terrace (although in the heat of Mazatlan, I had no interest in a jacuzzi). The staff are incredibly friendly and make everything at the hostel a pleasure.
This is a great place for a true traveler. It is located in the quaint historic center, and outside of the airconditioning in the room, there are no incredible luxuries. However, it has just about everything to make this place feel like a home away from home -- nice kitchen, excellent common areas, friendly and social staff and tourists, comfortable beds, etc. There is no doubt that I will stay again at Hostel Mazatlan during any subsequent visits to Mazatlan.

This hostel has the feel of old Mexico and is located just a short walking distance from the Mazatlan historic area attractions and the beach. The building is well kept, safe, and comfortable. The staff, Spanish and English speaking, are friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The rooms are spacious, reasonably priced, and a continental breakfast of pastry and fruits is served daily. The rooftop terrace houses the shared kitchen and is a great place to relax and visit with the other guests.
We had a great experience here and will certainly stay again!

This is a new, clean, and friendly hostel in the Mazatlan City center, only 2 blocks from the main square, and only 3 blocks from one of the most beautiful places in old Mazatlan: Plaza Machado. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They give you bicycles so you can explore the Malecon, and the golden zone. I strongly recommend this place.
