Plenty of lounge chairs and tables around the pool and ocean views access to the beach and clean bathrooms. The food was great and also a wide selection of drinks. Service was excellent! Would definitely recommend we will be back for sure next year!

The hotel is in a great location across the street from the ocean/beach. It’s within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, attractions and park squares.

Check-in staff is fluent in English. If the other staff don’t speak English, then they are “fluent” in Google Translate. All staff are friendly and eager to please.

Breakfast is very good. Daily there is a nice variety of food and beverages. You can also get dinners and drinks and then eat/drink them on the roof.

The roof pool is very nice and there is a 360-degree view of the area.

The hotel is kept clean and welcoming. Guest rooms are very nice and a bottle of water is provided daily.

The reasons for not giving them 5 stars are that their website states they provide airport transportation. They do not. While there the pool needed maintenance and had to be closed the last couple of days of my trip. We could have used the pool at their other location but it was not within walking distance and they would not provide transportation. Also, It was odd that there were only Spanish speaking television stations. In other countries I have stayed the hotel usually provides at least one English speaking station.

I would gladly stay here again!

It was a great experience and location also a magnificent customer service all employees were very helpful. Rooms and facilities were very nice and clean.
It will be a good upgrade if they have pack and play for babies and at least one wheelchair for emergencies.
But in general FANTASTIC experience, thank you Best Western Mazatlán!

Please do not get a massage here. My mom and I had a double massage here together a few weeks ago. Our masseuse’s were unprofessional and inexperienced. It was basically a lotion application and it was very intrusive and completely inappropriate.
We have both sent letters to corporate headquarters explaining in detail our terrible experience; we still waiting to hear back.

I researched the Mazatlan, Mexico Hotel Posada Freeman Zona Dorada on tripadvisor. Based on those reviews, I spent October 20-22, 2013 at this wonderful hotel. The good and bad... The good: Ocean front property, frosty air conditioning, clean-clean-clean, comfy beds, excellent cable TV & wi-fi, off street parking, friendly staff, great location, and an excellent included free breakfast buffet. The bad: The partial ocean view is very limited. The Freeman is a small well run low-key beach front property. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT stay here. There are two Best Western Posada Freemans in Mazatlan. The building downtown is ok, but the one in the Golden Zone is a mess. It's very noisy with clubs right outside the hotel. It smells. The breakfast is crap. And the staff are clearly on the defense.

Either on purpose or by accident there are positive reviews for this property which should be for the other one. It was my mistake, and I should have known better, but I trusted the online reviews which are a mess.

I paid for two weeks and wanted to leave early, but they wouldn't return my unused week or even put me up in the downtown hotel. Just to add to the annoyance, they charged $5 for a replacement room card.

We were on a road trip and stayed one night. The hotel has a very good beach and an excellent breakfast that came with the room. Parking was tight if you have a car. The staff was helpful. My Spanish is no good so am answering these questions to the best that am able. The room was very comfortable a very good value and good location next door to the El Cid.

This small Best Western hotel is sandwiched between El Cids and Inn at Mazatlan. It is right on the beach where you can watch all the activities and see beautiful sunsets. This was my 4th time staying at this hotel and it was time to write a review. I am amazed at what you get for the price. It is a small quiet hotel that includes internet stations in the lobby (which work very well). I was also able to access wi-fi in the dining area and pool area (I had a little trouble connecting in my room). The room price also includes a full breakfast buffet featuring Mexican dishes as well as pancakes, pastries, ham, bacon, eggs, fresh fruit and juices. I have always stayed in a regular king-size bed room, but this stay we requested one of the suites for only $20 more a night. Our suite 501 overlooked the ocean and pool, and provided us with beautiful sunsets. The most amazing part of our stay was the exception customer service we received from the manager, bartenders, chef and front desk reception area. We requested permission to have a party pool-side one evening. We were allowed to bring our own carne asada steak (purchased from a local meat store and very inexpensive). The chef cooked our meat, provided all the fixings for fajitas! The pool bartenders were great at fixing our many drink orders and even helped blow up birthday balloons and strung them around the bar. All of our party-goers had a great time that evening! Another perk is that you are not hassled in the hotel by timeshare salesmen. A couple of negatives are that 1) the room water is non-potable, meaning you don't want to drink the tap water. (Our suite included a refrigerator and microwave, so we were able to have extra drinking water on hand.); and, 2) the elevator needs a little maintenance work. I noticed a previous review indicated they did not honor the AARP discount, but I have never yet had a problem with using mine. I would seriously give this hotel a try as it is a very good deal for your money.

This could be a neat small and friendly hotel, but the poorly trained and managed staff just shrugged their shoulders when asked questions about the poor or non-existent service.

They did not honor my AARP reservation and discount, and we had to pay over $80 EXTRA a night.

The restaurant is ONLY open for breakfast...so you have to "hunt" for all your other meals.

At over $200.00 a night, no kitchenette, mini bar, room service, or even a listing of any kind about the hotel, area restaurants, or activities.

We were charged for every local call...in or out, but never told of the charges.

When the reception was asked to call a taxi, we were told we could find one out in the street!

While the hotel brochure says internet in all rooms, it barely works, and caused us much trouble in not being able to continue our work or access accounts. It was often down for hours, and the three terminals in the lobby were jambed with screaming kids playing video games.

The water could not be drunk from the faucets, yet bottled water, other than one bottle, was charged for.

The light in the bathroom is so poor, you need a flashlight to shave.

No laundry or pick up service.

The only glasses offered to drink from were styrofoam (2 only) cups.

Door key often did not work requiring a very small and slow elevator ride back to the reception for another "charge"

What was good? It is clean, nice uncrowded beach, great breakfast buffet where the only trained and friendly staff were.

Overall: Very poor value, way over priced, and we as Americans were discriminated against more than once at the reception, while Mexican Nationals were serviced ahead of us. Definetly will never stay here again . Caveat emptor!

We had to stay here for 3 nights after our flight home was cancelled and the airline booked us into the BW. The WIFI was limited and we really had wished there had been a mini frig in the room, but the staff were polite and the hotel although dated was very clean. What we did like was how close the hotel was to some great restaurants (El Capitano and Ristorante Villa Italia) and a fun bar (Gus&Gus)
