Even though The Inn is doing remodeling as a guest you would not even notice it. Upon arrival we noticed that all staff were wearing face coverings, our temperature was taken and we were given hand sanitizer. Check in process was easy and fast our room was on the 14th floor and the view was beautiful. Housekeeping came in daily (also wearing face coverings) and cleaned. Down by the pool Luis and Isaac were ready to make sure you had everything you needed. The resort was working at 30% capacity so social distancing was not an issue . Wonderful trip, I can't wait to go again

This is our 3rd visit to Inn at Mazatlan. Renovations continue from last January and the remodeled tower is inviting. We had a chance to stay in the new section but found it to be less than inviting. Same single, tiny elevator still only working part time. The room smelled so bad we couldn't stay past one night even with windows opened. We requested and were switched to another room and same problem, but to a much less degree. Open windows made it fresh. Turns out they had to call in a couple of sewage trucks to try and flush-empty the system for the entire 8 floors. After the one night on the 3rd, we were moved as that room "owner" wanted their spot. Front desk not on the ball and we moved rooms 3 times in 3 days. Outside, not too busy so easy to get a lounger. Some of the morning breakfast food not bad, but the overpriced dinner reason enough to go out and enjoy the many, many choices up and down the main roadway. Even with the reno's going on, it wasn't too loud and we enjoyed the sun under one of the Inn's palapas. Hard to beat the beautiful beach and daily romantic sunsets. Staff are very friendly although it was more difficult than usual to "shake" the timeshare staff. Hopefully when we are back next January, they will have taken care of the sewer issues and more remodeled units will be available to take choose from.

Stayed Jan 10-17, 2012. Not very busy probably due to travel concerns during Covid. Have stayed here several times in the past. Things have scaled down quite a bit, for instance the main bar restaurant facility was not busy, diners were instead encouraged to use the new outdoor dining area adjacent to the big pool and towards the main building. Lots of construction to the north with the huge building being built next to the Posada Freeman. It is being dwarfed by the Inn on one side and the new building on the other. Doesn't seem fair! Also construction across the street. The building across from The Inn and Rico's Coffee Shop is being taken down by hand with a lot of jack hammering going on. We stayed in a 1BR on the 9th floor. View was wonderful looking at the ocean. Our friends had a hotel room to the right of the small pool. It was nice with a huge wall mounted tv, but the room was too small for our tastes. Lots more construction with a new sea wall being built. Very interesting to watch. The staff were very pleasant and we would not hesitate to return. The hotel facilitated Covid testing for 900 pesos with results within 2 hours for airline travelers to meet requirements for their trips home.

Newly renovated, beautiful hotel right on the beach. Check in process was a nightmare, we had 3 rooms that were booked together and the rooms assigned were on different floors and buildings. When we asked why, we were advised it was because of the type of rooms we booked. Two out of three were the same exact room yet they placed our family on different floors. Even though we listed the correct amount of guests during the booking process, we still had to pay an additional fee, per person, per night on top of the nightly rate. My family has visited this property numerous times in the past and it’s the first we’ve ever been charged for ‘extra’ people. Other then the horrible unorganized check in process - we did enjoy the property very much. The resort is situated right on the beach for beautiful sunsets each night. The resort staff are very friendly and willing to help with any questions we had. The rooms for the most part were clean and you can tell they are taking covid precautions very seriously. Every time you enter the resort everyone gets temp checks and they have hand sanitizer stations around the hotel. Overall it was an enjoyable experience but due to the mess during the check in process we will probably look elsewhere for future bookings in Mazatlan.

I arrived and the staff lack customer service. They don't do room service until late. I was forced to rent a Pent House because the room they tried to give me was outdated and smelted horrible. The Pent House wasn't cleaned properly before giving it to us and was missing chair cushions and covers that were never brought to us and after I let them know this on a daily basis I wanted to talk to management and they just wouldn't let me talk to him. I highly recommend that any individual that is interested in visiting Mazatlan stay elsewhere.

Location is convenient but that's all going for this place. Total lack of customer service. Check-in was a 3 hour process, with pre-paid confirmation in hand and Expedia account pulled up as an additional proof along with my credit card used and my passport. The Inn had issue with my Expedia account being my initials of first and last name and my reservation being my first and last name spelled out and matches my credit card. Mind you I have use same Exp account annually for my reservation, never an issue before! Expedia was on the phone with me and then had to send them an additional copy of reservation with name etc. And then our one bedroom two bath reservation was for 2 people and our kids ended up coming along so now that was an issue. So another $100/night for the kids, . They really have gotten greedy! Many unhappy guests at the lobby counter with a wide variety of issues. No TV for a couple days and no repair happening. Elevators stuck, one lady stuck for over an hour and this was the stories we heard from people in the lobby during our three hours at the desk. then to find pubic hair on top on the toilet Tank in the 2nd bathroom and multiple long black hairs in one of the beds. Ugh, never again will we stay here. We know several owners at The Inn who are no longer happy and now I have experienced some of the issues they have shared. Do not stay here, it's bad and if you need any assistance you won't get it here.
Friends who have been owners for years have shared their recent experience as being less than positive. So unfortunate what has happened to a one time classy place with service that was once good.

We had stayed here for three nights on another trip to Mazatlan, but I am a light sleeper and the main building was not a good place for me. We always come in February and can never book into the building away from the street, but since we were coming in November I was able to score a great ocean front room away from the street. The employees are awesome from the bellmen, front desk girls, maids and guys who work around the pool. We were in a one bedroom, two bathroom remodeled suite and it was very nice and clean. We were a little surprised at the deterioration already showing after just two years since the remodel. But hopefully they will get on top of these things and not let things go down quickly. The pool areas are very nice, but we preferred the larger “family” pool. The adult only pool was smaller and people were not able to social distance very well. There were very few kids at the family pool and there were plenty of chairs. It was much easier to social distance in this area. All employees were faithfully wearing masks and most guests were wearing them when they were walking around. Our temps were taken and hands squirted with sanitizer every time we entered the building. Our only complaint is the fact that they are remodeling the two floors above the main lobby. The only way to get to our room was to walk through the constitution area. There is a smaller entrance between the large main building a small building to the left, but they were working in that area as well. It was very concerning walking through the construction zone as Jack hammering and welding were going on. It addition many of the constitution workers that we had to walk within ten to twelve inches of were NOT wearing a mask. I did voice my concern at the front desk and we were told that it would be reported, but not much changed. We would enjoy staying here again, but the chances of trading into the Inn in February are real good, but we will try for 2022.

Mazatlan's appeal lies in a historic city lying on beaches that run 10 miles long . The Old city dates back to the 16th century declared a UNESCO World Heritage site . The Inn also has 2 locations but sadly most visitors stay at the ocean and the real charm is in the Old town center heart of which is the Plaza Machado ,surrounded by history , museums . A meal at the Topolo restaurant in a magnificent historic Hacieda nearby wouldn't be soon forgotten .
The Inn at the ocean is well run with friendliness of Arturo the GM , Enrique and almost the whole staff made for a more enjoyable stay. The Old town location of the Inn made walking around the cobbletone streets with open air cafes , music, dancing , singing awesome fun .

The room was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the resort below, the beach and the ocean. The bed and pillows also very comfortable. All staff very friendly including the doormen, registration and the housekeeper. Needed maintenance to come up to the room because I couldn't get CNN & Fox News on my bedroom and living room tv. They were able to fix this with the living room tv. There is a new coffee and breakfast area as you enter the lobby and to the left. Hardly gets used by the guests. My coffee was not good. Rico's Coffee Shop across the street remodeling should be completed within the next month or two, but I reported back in December that the workers told me it should be ready by January 1st. Progress is being made with the reconstruction of the sea wall and that should be done soon. It is unfortunate The Inn does not enforce their requirement against guests reserving lounge chairs. People claim them early in the morning with towels, books etc. and they sit vacant for hours at a time. Meanwhile they are few if none available after 10am. The 5 jacuzzis at the main pool are appealing, but the water is not hot enough. In conclusion, not a perfect stay, but just a few minor issues so I rated Very Good.

+1
I stayed receny with a friend who had a tome share in the older part of the facility. The beds were comfortable and the view was great. From the woman at the front desk who greeted my friend like an old friend, recognizing her immediately, to the wait staff in the restaurant/bar patio area, everyone was friendly. Happy hour is almost like a party each time it's announced.
The thing I noticed talking to other guests was how many people have been coming there for 10-40 years. There's a real connection with families to The Inn, and to the employees who have been there for a long time. That is something you'll never get from a traditional hotel stay.
Yes, the room was a bit outdated, but we didn't spend much time there. We did cook dinner one night, and had everything we needed to cook in the kitchenette.
I always felt safe there, and even with our room connecting to the main road, I didn't notice any noise, and I'm generally a light sleeper.
The beach is right there, with an amazing view from the wall ledge. Lots of great people watching, close to shopping and great restaurants.

We never use All Inclusive because we don't drink and only eat when we're hungry. Unlike others we only eat at the resort restaurant so. I can't recommend any nearby places.
We organize day trips via the front desk.
I am sure you can call the office and ask for any packages.
The Papagayo is open and the pool/deck areas are not effected so far and probably won.t be until after the busy season is over. (late March). The only ongoing projects are the elevator on the outside of the Inca and some parts of the first three floors of the Tower. I understand not all the units in the tower are remodeled (friends stayed in one not remodeled last month), try to get a remodeled one if you are in the tower ( all new stuff and the AC works much better!)
No construction near pool or restaurant. Enjoyed stay.
Yes, some rooms are updated - others not......and the rooms in the annex next to the main hotel are the worse. Construction will go for another year+ but I didn't find that as troubling as the missing beach. Can't take the kids to a Mexican beach just to find there is no beach (water comes right to the hotel walls except at low tide).
