We spent 3 nights in the Owner's Suite on the first floor. The hotel is absolutely charming, just like a step back in time. Our room was large with a full kitchen, but meals there are so reasonable we never ate dinner or lunch at home. The included breakfast was delicious. It is freshly prepared with a choice of entrees each morning and a delicious bowl of fruit. Purified water is readily available in the lobby. The staff was helpful and friendly. The upstairs patio is beautiful at night for star gazing and relaxing. You can walk everywhere in the Centro, which is where we wanted to be. Streets are safe and well lit at night. The plaza was fun each evening. There are so many good restaurants in the area within a 10 minute walk. We had a great time getting our exercise on the Malecon and reading about all of the statues along the way. We look forward to a return to this lovely little hotel and the fun city.

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights including New Year. The location is one street behind the malecon in the historic Centro which was ideal to explore Mazatlan. The only thing the location lacks is being close to a sandy beach which is further north along the malecon. The beach is rocky near the hotel.

The interior decor was beautifully done with great attention to detail full of Mexican arts and crafts. The breakfast included was very tasty.

The staff was friendly and the owner very helpful. I left a beautiful shirt and suit jacket at the hotel that I discovered a day and a half after leaving. I called the hotel and they have it waiting for when I pass through Mazatlan in a few days.

We would highly recommend you stay here when in Mazatlan.

Just returned from a magical stay at Casa de Leyendas. Not sure what "Disappointed" is referring to about the hot water situation continuing through summer 2020. Definitely not so. When we were there it was a short, minor issue that was quickly taken care of. The owners were marvelous, the rooms were comfortable, cozy, and so authentically Mexican, and the included breakfasts were delicious.
We so enjoyed roaming around the beautiful city then returning to have a cocktail on the adorable patio. We highly recommend Casa de Leyendas and are already planning another visit next February.

So many reasons to stay here, starting with an ideal location just off the malecon and steps from restaurants and life in Centro; it looks like a movie set at night with romantic lighting all around. The property has just 8 rooms with extensive balconies covered with plants and flowers, and overlooks the ocean from the roof, so it feels substantial even in smaller rooms (we liked the privacy of #6, compared to the on-street noise from bigger #8). It's also kept scrupulously clean.

Breakfast is solid, filtered water always available, the small pool is fine for exercise or lazing, and staff has worked together for a long time, with the place running smoothly in every way. They went the extra mile for us, too, taking us to the bus station to help figure out transport. Such professionalism and kindness are so welcome on the road. Miss you all at the Casa, and look forward to our return.

After 15 years of visiting Mazatlán, I just spent my first week at this charming, tastefully appointed hotel in old Mazatlán. I am already booked to return in June! If you enjoy history, culture, ambiance, authenticity, and knowing that you are not in just any beach resort in México, you will definitely want to spend time in this magnificent hacienda setting. From the owners, Verneen and Alfredo, to the warm, welcoming and efficient reception staff: Veronica, Brianna, and Antonio, you will feel valued and special the minute you enter the front door. Healthy and delicious breakfasts are included and lovingly prepared by Reyna, proprietor of the famous Macaw's Restaurant, attached to the property. The hotel offers a library, a garden, and multilevel terraces to enjoy the views and the most spectacular sunsets on Earth. Be careful though, you will find that one stay is not enough. And you will find yourself, like me, returning as soon as you can. I recommend the Casa de Leyenda's without reservation.

Casa de Leyendas was wonderful. All of the staff was friendly and helpful, I was treated as a friend not just a hotel guest. My room was charming, the bed was comfortable, the shower always had plenty of hot water. There was variety in the included breakfast, and everything was spotlessly clean. There were 4 areas for lounging, a living room with a large tv, a rooftop terrace, a terrace with tables and loungers and another terrace with tables and an ocean view. I had the smallest room, number 5, and it was great for me as a solo traveler. The hotel is only one block from the ocean, a few blocks from the Plazuela Machado, and really the nicest place one could think of to stay. The area is extremely safe and I feel comfortable at all times in the hotel and the surrounding area. The staff speaks English, so it doesn't matter if you don't speak Spanish.

A very friendly and welcoming check in after a long day of travel. We loved everything about this place. The room was a great size and tastefully decorated. Very clean and thoughtfully equipped with a coffee maker, fridge and safe. The A/C was welcoming, since the temperatures were around the 30 C. The breakfast place beside the pool was equally charming and well attended to. A great little restaurant next door with yummy food and drinks. The staff were attentive and the management reflects a warm and content atmosphere. Much recommended for your stay in Mazatlan steps to the Malechon.

We made our reservations based on trip advisor reviews. We emailed the b&b numerous times. Not once did they mention they have NO HOT WATER!

Apparently the water heater is broke and won’t be fixed before summer 2020.

Would of been nice to know this before we made our reservations!

Very deceitful if you ask me.

This is an absolute gem of a hotel perfectly located in the Historic District about a quarter block from the malecon. Quiet, charming, and elegant…from the marble staircase gracing the interior lobby to the latched wooden windows in our room overlooking a lovely patio, stone fountain, and garden. Talavera tile and touches of Old World Spain everywhere!! Five stars for beauty, cleanliness, and comfort. Our room was very spacious, the bed extremely comfortable, and the AC was great. The staff were welcoming and professional. We wanted for nothing…

If you want to be in the middle of it all this is where you want to stay.. There's plenty of restaurants and bistros and bars within a stones throw. Most of the museums and The lighthouse are close by.
If you don't like crowds and loud noises don't come on motorcycle week.

No, as above, there aren't kitchen facilities. But their restaurant is terrific and serves much more than burgers. Breakfast for guests at the hotel is wonderful, too. We will definitely stay there next time we're in Mazatlán. Enjoy it, it's a lovely town...
