The hotel was built in 1944 and retains the charm of the era in a very old and lovely part of Centro, close to everything. Staff were very helpful and accommodating.
There is a bar at the top of the building which attracts a lot of people to watch the sunset in the evening. On the roof is a pool with bar service which we didn’t use because it was too cold when we were there.
Great location especially for special events. However have a back up plan or a hotel that will honor reservations. Management will unilaterally cancel your reservation without notice if they can get a better offer. Imagine an airline or a cruise ship doing this BW corporate told me they have no control over this practice and the management does not care if you post a negative comment on this rude inconvenient practice. I recommend you stay an one of the nicer boutique hotels in El central which is nearby. Pricing here is much higher Remember this was built in 1944 so it will have its charm The elevator is scary so I take the stairs. After all this is Mexico.
Negatives. First impression was a miserable face and a non caring attitude our room was very small and dated. Towels where threadbare and in short supply especially at pool. The breakfast I heard great things about but it was very poor, Very Poor. Of the 4 mornings breakfasts we were offered we only took one as we couldn’t face that again. Window in washroom wouldn’t close so a waste of air conditioning. Parking very limited. Drinks seemed watered down in bar. We will return to Mazatlán but definitely not this place.
Room was very small with a little over a foot of free space between the TV/Dresser and the end of the bed.
There was constant noice above the room, and in other areas that made it impossible to sleep during the daytime
