Dont expect 5 star and you will not be disapointed, staff are great. you get the mexican flavour here as small and intimate. Rooms are not fancy but have pretty much everything you need and are clean. If you want relaxation, beautiful sunsets and wonderful wave watching this is the place

Friendly "Hotel Hacienda Blue Bay" is located near the Marina de Mazatlán, in the quiet and calm north-western outskirts of the city. The "rooms" are really attractive suites, many with a huge king bed in one partition, and two single beds in another. There are fully-equipped kitchens with all the necessary appliances, and dishes are provided. There are also flat-panel televisions and effective air conditioners. The prices are very reasonable.

The hotel is on the beach, although it also sports a swimming pool and a sunning patio. We had planned a single overnight, but ended up staying eight days. There is WiFi, but we can't comment on the reach of the signal. It was certainly adequate on the main floor, in the rooms near the office. The office staff spoke good English.

Extensive renovations are underway, and some of the finished rooms are downright classy, although not quite as charming as some of the older ones.

The hotel offers no comedor (dining room), probably because many guests would avail themselves of the kitchen facilities. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance in some of the neighboring hotels. There are also several convenience stores and a well-stocked super market within easy driving distance.

We considered the place a most fortunate find.

I am driving through Mexico and it is a little difficult finding pet friendly.I was guided to the Hacienda Blue Bay Hotel and it is nice for the dog and me. Being North of the Zona Dorado is nice .Mexican families crowd here on weekends.

This is the place to go if you are looking for a little peace and quite. Its just off the main strip known as the golden zone but close enough you can either walk to the fun or just catch one of the hundreds of busses or taxis constantly passing by. it is right on the ocean and across the street is the marina so fishing is made easy. Mazatlan is a must see if you are planning a trip to Mexico. So much to do with the family and kids and is really safe. After 15 years of going I've only ever had one problem and it was with a corrupted police officer about 8 years ago looking for some fast cash. I gave him $20 and was on my way. I was walking on the beach late at night by myself and he stopped me and said I was trespassing? Since then the government has worked very hard to clean up the corruption and tourists are left completely alone as after a few bad things happened in Mexico people just stopped going and they finally realized that we are the bread and butter. Now if the local cops want some fast cash they simply use extortion with the business owners. One thing you should keep in mine is there is crime anywhere you go and Mazatlan is overall one of the safest cites I've traveled to. The police this last year are parked at every corner of the streets with their flashing lights on letting their presence be known. It helps keep drugs and crime from entering the tourist areas. They are for the most part very helpful if you have any questions or need help getting around. They know they are there to help now and not hassle. As with visiting all new places just be smart and always travel with at least another person, be respectful, know the rules, have fun, and you will be safe.
Happy travels.

Where do I start.. Roaches everywhere, old dilapitated linens and beds. Broken tiolet for 2 days. No toiletries. Holes in towels. Found worms inside restroom. By far the worst hotel experience ever! I'd rather sleep in a car then to ever visit a place this run down. NOT RECOMMENDED!!

We won a room here from a charity auction. We paid over list price...which was still CHEAP for a room in Mazatlan, on the beach, with a kitchenette that sleeps 4! We were nervous after reading reviews, but now that we are home all I can say is...it was delightful. The beach was not rocky (time of year?), quiet, and beautiful. Contrary to establishment's claims, there is NO restaurant or bar here. Place is in need of multiple cosmetic upgrades, but it was clean and comfortable and CHEAP. Only one person on staff that we met spoke english....but hey, you are in Mexico where Spanish is the primary language. We had fun with a young security guard (one is always on staff) trying to get a pizza delivered. Very nice young man. There is a small grocery a block north you can walk to, so we ate breakfast in room daily (saves $$). We had to watch the tide (rocky area to north of hotel), but when it was low/mid tide, we could walk a few miles up to the end of Cerrito Beach. We enjoyed excellent food on beach up a ways at Lupitas. Another bar up even further (attached to a hotel) has swings for barstools. 5 minute cab/Uber ride to Golden Zone. If you don't need all the fancy comforts of an Americanized hotel, this is a great little spot.

The staff was outstanding and service was amazing...it is pet friendly. Our suite was oceanfront complete with furnished kitchenette, two A/C units...there was even daily vendors that came through selling goods and the BEST fresh baked pastries...Wi-Fi, flat screen TV w/cable, coffee maker, blender, toaster, huge party shower (lol) w/great water pressure...super friendly place to be on our vacation...

Driving from the U.S. to our winter home near Puerto Vallarta, my wife, I and our dog stopped here for 2 nights. Our oceanside room with balcony was clean, spacious, secure, quiet (except for ocean waves breaking 50 feet away) with plenty of hot water and excellent wi-fi from 3 routers around the property. The English speaking reception staff were friendly and helpful. The place is older and in need of some cosmetic repair, but as I said, clean, comfortable and everything that should work does. The pool was warm, the beach in front small and rocky. We plan to return here on our northbound trip home in April.

My husband and I had a couple of nights before our condo rental was ready so we booked here after taking a look around last year. We were exhausted from a long stay over in the airport. It was very quiet.Very clean. Enough hot water, A/C, wifi workes best on the balcony. Get the ocean view rooms as that is worththe price.
Very helpful, friendly staff. They are doing some painting and maintenance and the gardens were well tended. Very easy to access the buses to the Golden Zone grab groceries, and cook for yourselves or eat out. We really were happy with this place!

This hotel is located right on the beach at the Marina in Mazatlan. There are newish condos surrounding the place, and this owner obviously chose not to sell. Most of the rooms have kitchenettes, some are studios some have twin beds in the salon, with a separate bedroom. This visit the water heater did not work (!&#) but that has never happened before. The pool is OK, not heated, but just steps away from the sand and a beautiful view of the water. A walk down the beach leads you to see all the beautiful condos that have been built recently. As this is a dead-end at the Marina, it is very safe and quiet, with hardly any traffic, as only those who live there or are staying there come there. As we are always on our way to Puerto Vallarta a one-night stay is fine for us, but I wouldn't want to spend more than that there. You are about 3 miles from the major shopping and restaurants of Mazatlan, which we avoid due to the traffic congestion and lack of parking. The price per night was $87.00 but I had to bargain for that. Rooms start at $1100 pesos.
