Nice hotel. Not scary. Very friendly staff. Pool was cold. Staff watched out for guests, gave good advice, didn't let them get ripped off. Close to everything we wanted to do. It's a very quiet resort, so young people and singles need to leave hotel to have fun - but it's not far to go. Good for people who want to have a quiet vacation. Very clean.

If you are looking for a HotSpot, this is NOT the place to be! Small hotel on a safe stretch of beach. It's old and it is Mexico, so don't be expecting the Ritz at these prices, but. . . If you are looking for a welcoming, caring staff, clean rooms, beautiful views and a great location for walking the beach or the sidewalks, this is it.

The restaurant food is bland, but a few minutes walk in either direction brings you to many fun choices. Security is very good and the waitstaff is great! If you have questions, the front desk people are wonderful - and all speak English well.

Rates are low for the value - if you keep in mind this isn't Florida. Well worth the horrendous flights from the Northeast.

We just came back from Mazatlan, and we stayed at the "Quijote Inn" for 3 nights. Well after reading the reviews here we expected nice things. But well, now we are more wise...

In the hotel guide of our travel agency this hotel was rated with 5*... Well we would give it 3*....

Even in the description of the hotel it sais, that all rooms are equiped with a kitchenette. Well, all we got was a lousy fridge, that was not even working right!

Next, the A/C was so loud and noisy that we had to turn it of in the night - in order to get some sleep! But even with ours turned off, you were perfectly able to hear the neighbours loud and clear.

At the pool there was not enough beds, and there was no space to stay in the shade! The jacuzzi was so hot, that you couldn´t go in there...

A big + goes to the cleaning staff. Our maid was really nice and friendly. The room was very clean and any special request, such as extra pillows, she brought within 5 Minutes...

Well all together: We just stayed in the Hotel to sleep and spend the days with friends who stayed in the "Pueblo bonito - Emerald Bay" that was a great hotel, great rooms, great staff and every cent worth it.

Beautiful hotel design with very helpful and prompt staff. If you love the Quijote, you will enjoy very much the large statue of the man of the Mancha. Restaurant is right on the beach with amazing views of the islands. Additionally, just across the street you can find the best breakfast restaurant in town ( Mané). There are also two pharmacies and convenience stores across the street. Rooms on the North upper level have a great ocean view, Rooms on the lower south side need some upgrading. Book well in advance to get the better rooms. Quijote Inn takes COVID very seriously and provides all guests with the necessary elements to keep them safe. At check out time (1100 hrs) you must return AC and tv controls as well as beach towel cards to the front desk. Parking space is adequate with 3 levels. The hotel beach is a bit rough, check the lifeguard flag and find the best area to enter the water. Sand is soft and with a small incline, it allows for nice barefoot walks. Just outside the hotel, you can take a local bus with AC all the way south to the market and Machado Plaza or north to the new marina for 13 pesos, a taxi charges around 150 pesos and a pulmonía around 250 pesos. A taxi to the airport is around 450 pesos ( July 2022 )
Mazatlan has grown and traffic moves slowly on the Ocean Boulevard ( malecón), plan accordingly. There are new bike only lanes and I consider them safe and fun from Valentinos to Olas Altas.

Terrible service, if you consume a little more than $ 100 USD in the restaurant you cannot access the restaurant, but you go to reception to buy a bracelet to access the pools that has an extra cost of almost $ 15 USD extra. The protocols against COVID are not fully followed. And the hotel is separate from the restaurant, which is infamous for its lousy service. If you have the opportunity, do not go to the hotel, otherwise you will regret it very much.

I have been going to Mazatlan for over 25 years and this is by far the worst place I have stayed. The room was dirty everywhere with shower scum, mold etc. I pointed out multiple things to the front desk staff and they just stared at me. One day no room "cleaning" at all. Noisy with paper thin walls. You could hear people in the next room just talking in a normal voice. I could continue with all of the things that were wrong but don't have that much time. Avoid this place!

What a nice place. Beautiful view, spacious, charming Mexican style accomodations. Friendly atmosphere. Nice pool. Even better than the El Cid. A beautiful place to stay in Mazatlan- you won't be disappointed.

This hotel was rated Mobil 4 start I think this may be a little high. I would say it should be rated 3 stars the accomadation is a very rustic style not the most moden but the maid does a great job Good points The staff are great and very friendly.and helpfull. only 5 floors and 67 rooms which means unlike some of the bigger hotels, you get a nice uncrowded beach spot .lovely pool and drinks served to you on the beech if required . property in the middle of the golden zone. 70 usd per night for 2 people great value . NOT SO GOOD POINTS if you want the best decor ( i.e plush lift etc then this is not the place) if you want to do a lot of cooking you only have 2 x ring hobs) Would i book / stay here again yes i would. why would i not book here agian if i wanted to do a lot of cooking or wanted 5 star treatment and did not mind paying 2 or 3 times more money. p.s great food just couple yard away casa country great evening meals

Traveled to this hotel late January/early February '06 for quick 1 week vacation. I have been to Mayan Coast (caribbean), Acapulco, Puerto Viarta, and this Hotel/area is nothing exceptional. We did not have a suite, room only. Room is old, light switches falling off, no purified water, ceiling fan not working, clogged drains, hard beds (as most Mexican hotels), pool not heated (worthless, freezing cold). Maid missed us for cleaning x1 day, found roach on floor one day (I left it on night stand for the maid) and had note about fumigation the next day. Many older US and Canadians have 1-2 week timeshares at this hotel(cheap?). Although it was very inexpensive vacation, (total for two people $900.00usd for air and hotel from Minneapolis [I booked the air thru Trans-Global for $99.00/person and the hotel thru expedia])I should have paid a couple hundred more for hotel that more closly met American standards (check out Casa del Oro). Mazatlan in general is an old town, with many retired/snowbirds from US/Canada. Ocean was cold, many beggers in town, rip off return cab ride from hotel to airport, kind of depressing all and all. I won't be going back.

Although the location and price is good, the hotel is old and run down. We rented a two room suite at ground level. The first room had broken plumbing. We moved to another room and the stove did not work nor did the hot water in the shower. They had one bar of soap and one shampoo for four people! We stayed one night because we were tired of traveling and left the next day. The pool & Jacuzzis were cold. The food and service in the restaurant were terrible. The bartender was pre-occupied with his phone and girlfriend. Overall this place lacks management and maintenance. Costa De Pro is just down the street and is far superior for the same cost. Call on the phone for a cheaper rate then the internet.
