Oceano Palace is a locally owned beach front property with 255 rooms. It features great amenities such as a heated pool, Jacuzzi, a fully equipped gym, large pool area, and great dinning! We offer 4 themed shows per week and daily pool activities. Our signature restaurant La Terraza offers buffet and à la carte options for our all-inclusive clients. In addition, not part of our all-inclusive, Roxy restaurant has delicious steaks and pizzas and Grand Central fresh sushi. For European plan guests there are plenty of dinning options nearby. Great for families and active guests who want to be entertained and have fun. Our location couldn’t be better: ocean front with spectacular views of the Pacific and Birds Island. Right on the Golden Zone of Mazatlan. New! Our all-inclusive guests will receive dinning vouchers to specialty restaurants at Oceano and at our other 3 properties. Oceano was fully renovated in 2014 so is looking better than ever!

My husband and I returned after 14 years! Nice to know there are now 3 other sister hotels as Luna Palace was the only option. Staff is great and very friendly. Filipe and the other bartenders took care of us very well. It is a very popular hotel with the local families, especially since the new highway from Durango is open, allowing those inland to come to the coast.

A great hotel to be immersed with the locals and practice your Spanish! Food is typical cuisine, there is always fish, pork, beef, saladas and of course tacos! Nice to be able to stay at one and play at all 4!

It's location is great as many local restaurants are close by if you don't want to eat there. We would definitely return!

the hotel is simple and nice. the rooms are open and bright with white walls and a single bright blue one that adds just the right amount of color. the staff is excellent, Zulema the room service employee, was extremely nice and even left a bunny and a dog made of towels in our rooms! the little details heightened our stay. the bar staff was extremely overwhelmed with the amount of people at the hotel but Guillermo and Felipe were always on point. Ramon, Juan, Angel, Jesus, Blanca, Gorge, Muigel, Eduardo, y muchos mas, nos atendieron durante toda la semena de nuestras vacaciones familares. los apreciamos a todos y por su trabajo que han hecho segun no haber tenido personal para acomedir a el numero de gente internada. i recommend staying at this hotel if you enjoy the night life! there is always something to do, see, or watch if youre willing to ask around and get to know the city. it is also great for families because they have activities for the kids and non alchoholic beverages that seem to satisfy them, jaja. great veiws during the sunset which also fintions as an excelent background for photos. we barely left and cant wait to go back soon!

We booked this hotel with WestJet Vacations. They had a shuttle waiting at the airport to transport us to the hotel. Check in was fairly quick with us getting our requested ocean view room. With only single pane windows, music and partying in the bar area could be heard nightly. As soon as Carnival started, the Mexican population descended on us and the noise level was such that we were glad we had earplugs with us. Note: this would have been an issue on street side as well.

Our suite was cleaned everyday (even washed the floors) with clean towels supplied. They would, on occasion, forget to leave coffe or face clothes. We had to have maintenance set up the safe for us. No other issues but if I was to book again, it wouldn’t be during Carneval! Way too many people!

Last minute package to Mazatlan and a first time visit to the area.Having visited many regions of Mexico over 30 plus years we decided to see Mazatlan, a city not often promoted by tour companies. The people were , as always, very friendly in all the shops and markets. Getting around is easy by taking the green bus into and back from town(11 pesos) each way. Visit the main Mercado Centro which has everything you would need as gifts as well as food stalls with freshly caught local fish and shrimp at prices you would never see at home !Get your chef at the hotel to cook something up for you.
The hotel staff were all helpful and engaging. The option to use the other sister hotel pools was a blessing since they could be less crowded and quiet. The best meal night was Friday which featured regional Mexican specialties like mole poblano and sopa de tortilla.
.A BIG warning to ALL visitors to Mazatlan.Local culture has ever present live bands playing a type of european ompahpah music on the beach ,usually from 1 pm to as late as 8pm .If you are a big fan of tuba music with repeated marching band drum sounds , you should bring ear plugs. I spoke to the hotel staff who did not care for the onslaught of the same music 6 days in a row. I casually polled most of the Canadian and American guests and 98% would not return due to the annoying and ongoing music. It was something we had never encountered in Puerto Vallarta or any other beach resort towns. It was the same experience everyone reported no matter which hotel you stayed at. I would strongly suggest the local authorities bring in some type of guidelines to limit the playing time and hours. Until that changes , we will NOT return.

If you are looking for a resort that is quiet, do not stay at the Oceana. Staff was wonderful. Resort is for young adults and children. Very loud in the pools and hot tub. Live music, games being called using a mic as well as the Mariachi band on the beach.
Two nights before I was to check out the music didn't stop until midnight. I went to the concierge to suggest they specify on their website that this is not a laid back relaxing resort. I did not expect anything just wanted to be sure in the future if someone is looking for quiet this is not the resort to stay. The concierge called the manager! To make a very long story short, I was moved to Luna Palace for my last night and it was perfect. I feel the management went above and beyond to assure me how very sorry they were for my inconvenience. As I said, great resort for young families but not where you should stay if you want relaxation.

The hotel itself is decent, the staff are great, the place is clean, HOWEVER, there is music playing loud at the pool all day, the kareoke starts in the bar and goes until late but the most annoying this is the brass bands that show up at noon or a little later. Usually about three or four of them. The bands consist of tuba, trombone, clarinet, horn, couple of drums and they play on the beach all day. You cannot possible relax at the pool or on the beach with all the competing noise from these bands. we couldnt even watch tv in our room on the fifth floor cuz we couldnt hear the tv. I've been to Mexico many times and this is my first and last experience with this crap. It's back to Puerto Vallarta for me next time

We booked Oceano Palace as we heard fairly good things and it was a good last minute deal. WORST experience so far in an all inclusive and we have been here 3 days! Nobody made us feel welcome, none of the staff speaks English and no help or direction at all! Full of locals and the staff cater to them, cannot get a chair or even want to go in the pools as they are jam packed and over run with unsupervised children. Rooms clean but dated, toilet seat doesn’t fit so you felt you were hanging off, safe didn’t work but they replaced battery and it worked. Ocean view was nice but above the lounge so noisy all night. Only 2 restaurants for 3 hotels so wait lines and sub par food. Overheard someone speak of Luna Palace about a 3 minute walk which is a sister hotel, full use of pool and breakfast but have to pay for lunch and dinner. Luna had great pool, friendly welcoming staff! We asked to be transferred there but they were full on the weekend! This is NOT a normal all inclusive, it’s a hotel! 😡
One staff, Eduardo in the Pacific restaurant was friendly and accommodating! Nobody else gave a crap! We had to find everything out on our own, will never recommend or ever come back! We have been to Mazatlan before and stayed at RIU, wish we would have booked there again!☹️

I have been going to Mexico for over 30 years. I have stayed at old resorts, new resorts, good resorts and bad. Oceano Palace has to be the worst resort I have stayed at. When we checked in, they upgraded us to the Pacific Tower. Nice room, beautiful views. Beds were extremely uncomfortable, hard. Water was shut off daily every morning, hot water was scarce. Food was horrendous. Recycled. The leftover fries and burgers from the snack bar was served on the breakfast buffet. Food was the same daily and cold. Wait staff was great. Happy and accommodating. Drinks at the bar were questionable. What ever concoction that was in the blender was what your drink was mixed with. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and it was full of coconut. What was left in the blender at days end was poured into a plastic milk jug and used the next day. I would not recommend this hotel.

Actually part of the 'Palace' resort complex, see also Star Palace and Pacific Palace.

Really disappointing. Paid significant rates for 2 week all inclusive stay based on web site and travel catalogue descriptions. There WERE 3 restaurants for the 3 shared 'Palace' properties. However only one of them was open on any given day. The food was predictable and of little variety unless you LOVE exclusively semi-authentic Mexican cuisine. The bartender was generous.
Pool looked so pretty in photos but was so crowded morning to night (mostly with children under 12) we never were able to get near it. No general lounging area inside or out. The noise in the buffet restaurant with 300 or more people in it was impossible to bear. Add in karaoke, loud big screen movie outside, and 5 or 6 brass bands competing in front. If you don't know what a 'banda ' is look it up. Did I mention the pigeons free to come and go in the restaurant including on to your table as you ate ? Please note I DO like banda music and pigeons but not to excess.
Most staff were pleasant but few spoke English.
General Info - Avoid their long weekends and the week before/during Carnival. Mexicans deserve to enjoy their vacations too.

We booked the hotel for 21 days, during. Christmas which was a big mistake as it catered to all the Mexicans on vacation. The room smells so bad you have to make sure all the drains are covered or you will smell. Poop all night. No fridges in the rooms. The pool area is so old. They never clean up around it until the end of the day. One day we seen someone dropped a jam package in the morning by the pool and all these wasps came by and no one cleaned it until evening. Then we had breakfast in the restaurant and so many wasps you couldn’t enjoy your meal. We had to tell the waiter to move the dirty dishes. As soon as you walk up the stairs from the beach you smell poop. It is so disgusting. Some days you only see one waiter running around serving people other day no one. No one speaks English and after 18 days they only say 2 devices on WIFI. Never stay here again the view is the only nice thing. Sometimes if you are lucky they will leave you water in your room but takes them all day to clean the room and then threw out a brand new bottle of medicine.

That might be dicey; when we were there in December there were a couple of NFL football games on but mostly soccer. But down the street there were lots of sports bars (like Vancouver Wings) that had large TV’s on so I’m sure you can find some NHL action somewhere but not likely in the lobby bar 😒

There are some a joining rooms with shared balconies; best ask the staff about availability. The first room they put us in had one of those rooms and it would’ve been really weird sharing a balcony with another family that we didn’t know
