Detailed Reviews
Our family stayed here three weeks ago.
Since it is located in an open area of Mazatlan, it was a bit windy and cold, the beach isn´t the type to go swimming because there are lots of big stones that could hurt swimmers.
The waiters at the restaurant provide very good service, specially Alfredo and Julio who were always the best. We are very thankful with them.
It is easy to move to and from the hotel to anywhere in Mazatlan using cabs or the green buses that ride all the way to downtown Mazatlan. The golden Mazatlan area is about 15 minutes drive from the hotel.

No towels at arrival. When the room was cleaned they put one sheet on the bed, took the dirty towels and did not replace them. They did not replace coffee or water. Nothing in the room but a small cofffe maker. Very limited menu. Won't go back.

+1
Well, I'd like to thank the hotel and the staff for ruining my suprise 20th wedding anniversary. For starters: We arrived and went to the desk in the lobby. The young lady behind the counter acted like we were bothering her. Whe I found out I did not have a balnony in our room, I was disappointed and I asked if we coiucl change rooms, seeing the parking lot was almost empty and appeared the place was almost wmpty. I was advised that I would have to pay $400 USD more! So, we were stuck with a room that was large and had a jacuzzi...A jacuzzi in door indoor on the beach in Mexico, no thanks.
The room was large, then I started to notice the things I notice when at a hotel.
bed Headboard with lot's of dust, but only on half, appears the staff was too lazy to dust the whole thing.
Filtyh windows, I figured out why, the staff was cleaning the balcony above us and the nasty water was going all ovwe out room windows (Pictures to follow)
Holes in the curtains
Filthy dirty and cheap rugs next to the be(Pictures to come) s on either side. No slip resistant padding under and made it very slippery in the tile floors (Pictures to follow)
The bathroom was unbelieveably small, so small that if you turned around, you would bump into yourself.
Toiled paper holder was literally only 6 inches above the toiles seat, so, you had to sit sideways on the toilet. The towel rack was falling off and crooked. No facial towels in the room just two large bath towels
The air vents were disgusting!
The TV had a 2 inch scratch on the screen.
The room door appears too small for the door frame (Pictures to follow.
Floor rugs were stained and dirty.
Terrible job by housekeeping and the managment staff.
The pool are was very nice, and that's it. We had to keep going to the outdoor bar to get our own drinks, thefre were wait staff, but they seem pre occupied with other tasks.
The restaurants were empty daily,
they have a bar, but, no seats, no bartender on duty so you just wait.
We had a few drinks during happy hour on the outdoor patio, it was us and another couple. When we finished up, we waited 15 minutes to pay our bill, again, no staff to be found. So, when you get a drink, there is no tab ar charging to your room, you can only use a credit card to pay for drinks, at the outside bar I tried to pay for drinks and the bartender had no idea what to do.
This place was so bad, we went to hang out at a resort about a 10 minute walk north. They had great staff, great food and very friendly people.
So, The Park Royal beach was a total disaster and ruined my 20th anniversary.
I will NEVER go there again. and I advise against staying there.
THANKS FOR NOTHING!

Our stay at Park Royal was very relaxing. All rooms facing the ocean. Not a large hotel and not crowded. The food in the area is excellent, fresh shrimp and fish from the ocean. Beach is very clean and is cleaned up every day. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and always eager to help and answer any questions. English is not prominent but you can always find one or two of the staff that speak it very well. If going down town use the green bus, only 11 pesos per person.

This lovely beachfront hotel was a quiet oasis in the north part of the Golden Zone. There was bus service in front that took you into the city and the Galleria Mall/stores/cinema were within a quick taxi ride away. Food was consistently good and the hotel was impeccably cleaned. Although most of the staff didn't speak English, they went out of their way to find someone who could answer our questions.

We have been vacationing in Mazatlan for nearly 30 years, staying at several timeshare locations as well as private apartments and condominiums. Park Royal is one of the best locations we have found, a little bit like a pearl! When you walk through the doors into the outdoor patio/pool area you are greeted by a heart warming vista. An infinity pool, chairs, umbrellas and a view of the ocean that is truly inspiring. There is an inside/outside restaurant that serves great food, especially the breakfast buffets on special occasions and weekends.
The best part of all, however, are the employees of Park Royal! They help us through our lack of fluent Spanish, providing us with whatever it is that we want or need. Every employee greets you with a warm smile and conversation if you desire. The restaurant, massage and concierge staff have made our vacation one of the best in years, handling every one of our requests with ease and grace.
Thank you Park Royal Homestay, we will see you in 2021!

Nothing romantic about this stay. Corner juccuzzi couples get away was the title of my room. This 80 square foot room consisted of two twin beds placed between two party rooms. The walls are paper thin, the street noise is relentlessness. There was no phone in room so every-time i needed anything / even room service I had to go down the elevators. Stand in line and make my requests. The bar code for restaurant did not work when I asked for two take away menus was granted them only to have a knock on my door 15 minutes later asking for them back! The three elevators on site are not coordinated and waits could last up to 10 minutes. Pool chairs were a premium / rude guests holding them with towels and never returning… not hotel problem but they were not helpful when we requested assistance. The pool is full of sand on bottom. Would not stay here again even if the price seems right … sleep quality was zero. We did go to on site restaurant / chicken was also 1/5

We payed full price for a 6 person suite....Usually with Park Royal we get at least 2 private rooms within the suite. Here in Park royal Mazatlan you get 1 room with 2 beds (so expect to have a no privacy vacation) and 2 "sofa beds" they are just 2 sofas which gave me back pain, when I arrived with no pain to Mazatlan.
They told us they didn't even had covers for the sofa beds, we had to go and struggle to get some really cheap little blankets. They had no washcloths, nothing to scrub dishes with. Service is of the lowest you can get. We got stuck in the elevator and they didn't even say sorry for that crap experience.
Their TV remotes keep deprograming and they didn't have anywhere written how to fix it, you need to call and wait for someone to connect and solve, what the service person said happens often.
They even had a large broken glass in the terrace so our view was a broken glass view to the beach.
Their pool is also a cold water one if you like to go an swim in a cold pool, no jacuzzi, you get the idea.
I can keep talking a lot of things we didn't like about this place, yet I want to be just as objective as I can. In a nutshell just expect the lowest of the lowest or service and quality so you won't be disappointed.

Not a luxurious hotel, but the people working there are incredible. One of the nicest pools I have experienced, due to its design, temperature and cleanliness. Rooms could be a bit cleaner, and the furniture may need to be replaced soon. In general great for families

Simply the price was too much for everything that we receive. FIrst the rooms; they had this bubble wrap in the windows which didnt let you see anything at all, the walls are paper thin, you can literally hear the conversation next room. the beds were uncofortable. When we arrived the bathroom didnt have any soap, paper, towel, or anuthing. It has a mediocre pool. It took the staff over 30 minutes to get clean towels to the room. The servers took over 15 minutes to get you a drink, and had an attitude. The cleaning staff did the bare minumum. The food at the dine-in restaurant was pretty so-so and overpriced for what it offer. Not enough space by the pool for all the guests. The elevators are small and slow, they skipped floors without a reason. To end things the hotel was far away any tourist attraction, it really doesnt have anything to save face.
