City Express Mazatlán sits just three blocks from the Mazatlán pier. It’s the perfect place to stay, whether you’re here on vacation or business. City Express hosts guests from all over the world because of our close proximity to the Mazatlán International Convention Center. Hundreds of conferences, expos, and events are held at the conference center each year. Nicknamed the “Golden Zone,” Mazatlán is a popular tourist destination for several reasons. Downtown is packed with lively cafes, bars and restaurants. There is also a lovely seaside promenade, miles of golden beaches and blue lagoons. The sunsets from the pier are spectacular. Of course, spending time on Mazatlán’s many beautiful beaches is a must. There are many to choose from, including Playa Camarón Sábalo, Playa Venados and Playa Olas Altas. Stay at City Express Mazatlán, and enjoy the natural wonders of the Mexican Paficic coast.

Detailed Reviews
this hotel is a great bargain! i would recommend staying here if you are driving to, or through mazatlan. it is a straight shot from the highway (after the bridges are finished being built) and about 1k from the malecon (also a straight shot). my husband and i always stay here when passing through the city. you get a nice clean room, free water, free internet, and a free breakfast. (fresh fruit and yogurt, coffee, juice, sweet rolls, and the makings for a ham sandwich.the rooms are small, but that is no problem. we stayed there last night and paid only 52 dollars! there is a good taco restaurant down the street, and a shopping center for all your needs next door. you can't beat it.

$900 pesos a night, the room was brand new, clean, and well appointed. not yucky or run down. it is not a 'resort. no pool. but it had a complimentary breakfast and fitness facility. There is nothing wrong with this particular hotel. I'd be willimg to try other "city express" or "express junior' outlets. it's a chain in mexico. very nice. Nothing bad to say.

Booked the hotel on-line...rate quoted was $63.19. When we arrived, they wanted to charge us $1182 MXN(approx. $100 USD) So, we left & went someplace else. Well, lo and behold they billed my credit cared $1182 MXN. Working on it now. Bad front counter service. Not helpful at all. BEWARE!!!!!

Suzanna the tour guide really had the audacity to shame my family and i as we traveled the city with her. She is annoying as fck and will not shut the fck up for sht! Never again. We are bi lingual and she more than likely was not aware of that as she would talk down on us in spanish. Stupid btch can kick rocks.

This hotel accommodates more of the local tourists. Unless you speak Spanish, communications will be an issue. Walls are literally paper thin. You can hear the guy next door taking a leak and flushing. You can hear conversations, and the constant moving of the chairs. The beds are not comfortable. There is no information for tourist type tours. If you ask the staff they can not recommend or even know what you are talking about if you mention one.

City Express satisfied my need for an easy accessible hotel for a one night stay. It's a modern, somewhat spartan hotel. Clean rooms and guarded parking. Front desk staff English excellent and efficient check in. Standard of hotel is a notch down from say a Hampton, but for just an overnight in retrospect a good choice. Would stay again.

Stayed here two different times on this trip:
This was a nice convenient place to stay just to overnight in MZT before heading south. The experience interacting with the staff was perfect and it was refreshing to be in such a nice clean air conditioned building. I was surprised by how spacious a simple room was. That was a bonus! The free continental breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about. I'm a vegetarian and came prepared to add to what they had to offer :-)
It was interesting to see a Recyling station in the dining room area too.
I didn't realize how close we were to the Malecon and to other amenities...very cool.

Juan Jose was a remarkable guide showing us the entire town from the sea to the Golden district. Very informative. Great value for the money! What a transformation has taken place since I last visited. Especially enjoyed the Cathedral! Beautiful!!

Don’t expect much and you wont be disappointed. Comfy bed, cold shower, rubbish breakfast off cardboard plates and plastic cutlery.
Strange that all the good reviews are from people who have only ever done one review. Surely not by the hotel management themselves? You decide.
If you want a cheap basic hotel then fine but don’t expect much and don’t take your friends or family.
And they didn’t send me the bill by e mail as promised

Sorry, don’t know. Call the hotel direct. The front desk staff I dealt with spoke excellent English.
