Named in honor of St. Christopher, patron of travelers, surfers, sailors and protector during long journeys, Hotel San Cristobal Punta Lobos sits on the beach on the southwestern edge of the Baja peninsula in Todos Santos, Mexico. Positioned along the Tropic of Cancer and framed by the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, Punta Lobos, and the Pacific Ocean, there is something about the quality of light. Please note: the hotel allows children over the age of 15.

An incredibly relaxing experience that I would highly recommend. The property and staff are excellent and the location is perfect. Having a car for a stay over a few nights is probably a good idea as the nearby town of Todos Santos offers some excellent food and exploring.
Though Benno (the restaurant) had an impressive menu, we preferred to dine more causally seaside after dark from their pool menu.
Pro Tip: The crashing surf may be a bit loud for the ocean view rooms at night but nothing a pair of soft ear plugs can’t overcome.
Fair warning, if you like a party scene or aren’t interested in unplugging, save the drive and stay in Los Cabos.

The most relaxing trip to Mexico- an absolute must. We loved our stay from start to finish. The service and individual attention to detail at this hotel are better than we've experienced at places like the Four Seasons. From the cookies delivered each night before bed to each and every staff member remembering your room number or name, we just felt like this place was a warm hug. Special shout out to Edna & Jesus who were both absolute gems. Since the property is so small, you never have to fight for space at the pool or restaurants. We honestly only ever ate at the hotel and still found there to be a good variety of options so we never felt bored. Definitely get any seafood which is caught by the fisherman who you watch sail out each morning! We also took advantage of the yoga, sound baths, and massages (which took place in the gorgeous chapel) and that really elevated our relaxation. If you are thinking about booking this place- DO IT NOW. The only feedback we have for the hotel that would've really leveled up this experience is allowing guests to have access to some sort of hotel shuttle/car to get into Todos Santos or to the beaches nearby. With how thoughtful and detailed everything else was, that was truly our only "want." Thanks for a truly blissful trip!

First it was suggested we use TS Private Transportation from Cabo to the hotel. Be prepared to pay USD200.00 one way plus you can add on an ice chest for beer and water for an extra 45.00. Secondly the property is beautiful and they think of every comfort for you; nice deep couches with good pillows. Blankets for cooler nights. They were always checking on us and making sure fires were going. We were there for a family wedding so we had the entire hotel rented out for this event. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was fantastic. If you host a wedding there be sure to inquire about having an after party at the ruins. Wow. What a way to end a wedding. The hotel went above and beyond to make a one of kind wedding for the happy couple. Water pressure in the shower was so nice. Big walk in shower. High-end bath products; hair dryer; NO TV’s in rooms but we weren’t there to watch tv. The only fly in the ointment was their concierge services. Left emails with them prior to us arriving about a couple of things and they do not respond, so you’re better off trying to call them. They do have a shuttle service but is used more for shuttling guests to/from Todos.

We came for lunch, trying to find somewhere a little off the beaten track. First impressions were wow. The location/view really is impressive and the initial people, guiding us where to park and pointing us towards the restaurant, were really welcoming.
Food wise, we had some prawn tacos, which looked nice, but the (large) prawns were overcooked and rubbery. My tuna sashimi was pleasant enough, but my chicken Caesar salad was a little underwhelming. The dressing was watery - chicken a little dry - the Parmesan was almost non existent - and why no anchovies? They are common off the Baja.
But my real issue was with our server. I found him arrogant from the offset. He seemed constantly frustrated that we weren’t spending enough, even we spent over 2k peso in total in an hour. When we first ordered, FOUR times he asked if “that was all?” as if trying to guilt us into ordering more, and I’d clearly said repeatedly that we’d order a few bits, and then some more. He then tried to force my friend to have salad with his tacos, which we clearly said we didn’t want. And then, having initially ordered a glass of bubbly, I went to order a specialty house cocktail, which had a 60ml hibiscus infused gin as one of the ingredients, but he kept asking if I wanted to double the gin. Surely the cocktail should already be perfectly balanced if designed by a proper mixologist. By the time we left, I’d had enough, and couldn’t wait to leave. He then mucked up the card payment AFTER I’d entered my PIN, but screwed up the error receipt, and asked me to put my PIN in again. That’s a big red flag anywhere using a card. You always offer the customer the receipt to prove a payment has not gone through.

This is a long overdue review. We stayed with another couple in Jan 2022 and our trip is an annual one without kids.
The Good- the hotel is spectacular, the design is amazing, everything is clean, and everything worked well. It felt very well maintained. The location is great, secluded enough to be away from the Cabo masses but close to surrounding towns so it’s close to go to town for dinner. The hotel was very relaxing, we hung out by the pool all day long almost everyone day. The food at the hotel was very good, especially in the main restaurant but I general we found it to be very limited at both the main and pool restaurants.
The not so good- we found the service to be lacking. More in a confused, disorganized, lack of training way not necessary a lack of trying way. We had to basically beg for our waters to be refilled throughout the day, remind the staff of our missing food or drink orders and were frustrated with so much pushback over things that were a slight deviation from the normal. It should be noted we are NOT high maintenance guests. We’re alway polite and understanding, and don’t ask for much, but this is a beach vacation destination and refilling guests water throughout the day should be standard operating procedure, not a request. Drinks often came mixed up or wrong, and when we requested the correct item the waits were lengthy. We found the lunch/pool menu to be very limited with only a few items so we requested off menu items a few times, which was also met with confusion, pushback and chaos. Think a fruit platter or something from the breakfast menu, we’re not talking about major deviations here. Most of the time the requests were met, but it took a lot of convincing and negotiating, not something a guest should ever have to face for a reasonable request. I’d also like to see some sort of afternoon treats passed out at the pool area. Fruit, sorbet, could drinks, something. Most resorts we’ve ever been to have done that. Lastly, the pool seating reservation situation was annoying. There aren’t enough loungers for all the guests so people wake up early to secure spots. They should think about expanding the seating down to the beach as an overflow area.
My general assessment of San Cristobal is it has the makings of an amazing boutique hotel, and if the service can be worked out, it will be one of the better places to visit in all of Mexico. I read they recently hired a new chef so maybe that will change things.

Delicious food! And very friendly staff!!! Highly recommended ❤️ Excellent dining experience at this restaurant. The service was impeccable, the staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the letter. The food is simply sublime, each dish is a work of art, the flavors and textures are amazing. The choice is wide and there is something for everyone.
The atmosphere is welcoming and elegant, perfect for a romantic dinner or an outing with friends. The location is central and easy to find.
What impressed us most was the quality of the ingredients and the presentation of the dishes. The chef is a true artist and can be seen in every detail.
Overall, our experience was unforgettable and we will surely visit this restaurant again. We highly recommend it to all foodies. A real treat for the palate!

This is a chill and chic hotel that has great service and and prime location. Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range, you get the best of both mountains and beach. Food is great and the perfect end of each day is freshly made guacamole and margaritas while watching the sunset. There is moderate hiking around the property. Service is excellent. We did yoga and a sound bath in their charming chapel. No gym or tennis if you are looking for that sort of thing. The property is right on the beach and the views are beautiful, but the surf is rough and not recommended for swimming.

This was our second time at San Cristobal and it was just as lovely as the first visit. Beautiful upscale interiors, exceptional service at all times. The staff really bent over backwards to please us. They are also very gay friendly and welcoming. My partner and I could not have been more pleased. When we arrived, there was a hand-written letter and bottle of my favorite wine chilling in the room. The great service continued throughout the stay. Thank you to San Cristobal staff for creating a wonderful memory for us. I would recommend to anyone for a great getaway.

Hotel San Cristobal is an oasis of luxury and calm tucked away at one end of the beach near Todos Santos. The food is excellent locally sourced fare and the cocktails are beautifully constructed around mescal and tequila. The staff are attentive and friendly. We had a wonderful few days watching the fishermen land their boats amongst the waiting pelicans from the beachfront pool with a margarita and the always blue sky as a background.

The rooms are simple yet beautiful, but provide all you need when on a relaxing trip in Mexico. The aesthetic of the hotel is wonderful and the details in the room, from the bath robes to the bedding, feel authentic.
We stayed for 3 nights during our honeymoon. During our stay we ate at the on site restaurant (benna) once per day and every meal was delicious. Besides the great room and breathtaking views of the ocean/mountains, the entire staff really makes the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Everyone is happy to help and do all they can to ensure we were taken care of. They made several restaurant recommendations and reservations for us when requested. While lounging by the pool they frequently checked in to ask if we needed anything. Everyone was so polite and friendly and we felt like more than 'just another guest' by the end of the short stay.
Highly recommended, we can't wait to come back!

No it’s all very calm beachy vibes. If you search on Spotify there is actually a playlist called Hotel San Cristobal which gives you a sense of the type of music.
