Detailed Reviews
While the rooms are basic, the friendly staff (incl. the owner) are very interested to be of help, the breakfast buffet is supplied with all one would desire, an overall happy experience. I am not sure why there needs to be 200 charakters, I think I said it all ...

Hotel Lodner Lauingen
The large building from the 16th century alone is worth seeing.
The rooms of the owner-managed hotel have been lovingly renovated.
Modern furniture, lamps and accessories, such as in the restaurant, have preserved the flair of the hotel and made it even more interesting.
The rooms are clean and quiet, the beds comfortable.
The service from all employees is very friendly.
The breakfast buffet is good, also many local offers of sausage, cheese ... and very good baked goods.
If you wish, you can get freshly prepared egg dishes.
We had the arrangement with the very good "regional 3-course menu".
The dishes from the daily menu on the neighboring tables also looked very tempting.
We were able to park our e-bikes safely in the Hotel Lodner.
It is worth taking a look at "Lodner's Gourmet Workshop" in the neighboring building.
In addition to exquisite wines and spices, we found the olive oil there that we enjoyed so much with the amuse-gueule the evening before. We are already looking forward to our next stay

I enjoyed my stay at the Lodner Hotel. The rooms are basic but the bed was really comfortable. Two things stood out in my stay. The first was the friendly staff/owners who were really welcoming. The second was the lovely dinner I enjoyed - grilled chicken served with a delicious fresh salad. Additionally, I was given a tasty little appetiser and some fresh bread with curry butter prior to the main.
All of this was accompanied by a lovely cold, locally brewed beer and an equally enjoyable red wine.
The buffet style breakfast was also tasty with a range of dishes on offer.

Good location and public rooms look impressive. Don’t take room 116- very basic, overwhelming smell (spices we were told), radiator fully on, no towels, tiny caravan sized and looking bathroom with extremely small curtained shower, sink plug wouldn’t empty and toilet took ages to flush. Apparently no other room available in main building, though breakfast quiet and basic. No separate locked storage for bikes-just rear lobby. Restaurant closed for dinner but recommended Pizza Roma- excellent food and service

Lovely old building that has an interesting history. Be sure to check out books of old photos of Lauingen in the lobby. Stayed in the tour room. Lovely view outside the windows - and wonderful to hear the church bells ringing. Tall ceiling room. Huge bathroom. Comfy bed. Loved the creaky old staircase up to the third floor. And the breakfast was traditional and delicious. Wonderful stay.

When we first entered the room, a standart room for 2 persons is as small as it can be. Since we don’t stay in the hotel for so long it wasn’t a problem. But when we saw a lot of bodyhair on the bedsheets, that is a problem :) the staff at the reception desk is very helpful though, they quickly changed our room and upgraded it with a more spacious and luxurious one that has a kitchen. The problem was solved.
When the night came, the first thing I noticed was that the air conditioner was not working well. The problem was not with our room, the whole hotel’s air conditioning system was terrible which doesn’t do much cooling. If you are a person that can’t taks the heat, or have trouble sleeping in hot weather, you shouldn’t stay in this hotel.
The beds were comfy I should add.

My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this at the last second. As a Ritz enthusiast I can place it in the same column of quality, attention to detail and staff service. We loved our suite and our two night stay! It is tucked in the heart of Old Augsburg and a few blocks from the Centrum. Short walks lead to long walks and we soaked up the city. The front desk staff were very attentive and courteous. They each seemed to speak multiple languages and were meticulously manicured and polite. Our suite was lavish. It was elegant and still modern. Big bathtub and bathroom was an extra surprise. The restaurant.....I own fine dining restaurants and I am not easily impressed. The short of it.....their restaurant is phenomenal. The dinner was unique and complex and the atmosphere was that of royalty. We closed our stay with a Sunday brunch buffet which I still have no words for. I will be returning in June & July 2018.
