We were 3 adults away in week 35 & 36/2023. We lived downstairs in family home no. 213. Many write the rooms are small. For us it was a nice size. I had my own bedroom, and could close the door to the living room where there are 2 sofa beds. There is air conditioning in both the living room and bedroom.
The view and the location are absolutely fantastic. It takes 12 min to walk down to town and maybe 20 min to go back due to the steep hills. You should not have difficulty walking.
Large selection of wonderful breakfasts from 8:00 a.m
Nice pool area and sun terrace down by the sea. Wonderful that you can borrow a kayak for free. There are a total of 3 pieces. as well as 2 life jackets.
The staff are service minded and pleasant.
However, I do not want to give the hotel 4 stars, but rather only 3. The accommodation is deficient in cupboard space, considering that there must be room for 4 people. There are no coat racks, although there is plenty of wall space. We were in the accommodation for 14 days and the cups and glasses were not changed or cleaned at any time. There is nothing else in the home apart from 2 cups, 2 glasses, coffee machine and electric kettle. Soap dispensers in the toilet were not refilled throughout the period. The rooms could use an update. Clean sheets and towels were provided every day and cleaning was done every day. Toilet paper must not be thrown in the toilet, but in a bucket next to it.
But all in all - we had a lovely holiday and would love to come back. Waking up every morning to the view is nothing short of amazing.

Imagine waking up and looking out over the Ionic sea. Then grab your mask and snorkel, walk down the stairs to the lagoon and enjoy a morning-swim, or use one of the hotel kajak’s and padle around for a bit.
The hotel itself is nice, clean and the staff amazingly friendly. Breakfast is great and so is the food we eat in the pool bar for lunch. Best of all is the location. WHAT a view overlooking the Ionic Sea. Im totally in love with this place and will for sure be back.

Extraordinary place!
All the rooms with sea view, magnific view. The place is quiet, with a lot of plants and coloured flowers.
It has direct access to the sea. It has it s small but private rocky shore.
Very clean, good food and good service.
The rooms are not big, but we managed with cloths and stuff during our 2 weeks vacation. The terrace of the room is very big and cozy

I notice from posts in 2019 that this is not the first time this has happened. I made a booking, on 20th Jan 2020 for 7 nights in August 2020. I placed the booking via a well known hotel/holiday website. The hotel took a 30% deposit from the card which I had given, which is fair enough. It stated that bookings were cancellable up until 30th July. I contacted the hotel directly to ask some details re the rooms (the booking was for a family of 4). They didn't reply so in the end on the 3rd Feb I cancelled the booking but did not receive a refund as promised. I was advised to contact the hotel directly re this which I did via email, I received one reply saying that the refund would be made within a few days and then nothing! No refund and no further responses to my emails. So in the end, I went back to the booking website and they refunded me instead. Not rally the way to run a hotel I don't think. I would be very wary of booking at this hotel as I'm not the first person this has happened to, reading other reviews.

After driving for nearly 7 hours from Athens we arrived to Costa Esmeralda and encountered the most unbelievable unprofessional and distasteful experience ... wow... they falsified the room booked which was a Delux junior suite for four persons and when confronted instead of finding a solution to the issues we were told to leave told it was not their problem faced with aggression and complete disrespect. Told we were are not needed there. It was bookings.com whom when we finally spoke with that refunded our money at full cost and apologized for the blatant lies and behavior of the management and owner at Costa Esmeralda whom we still remain in utter disbelief at the aggression and unprofessional behavior... If dignity is important do not visit or stay at this place.

I am sorry i did not read here before i made the reservation. On the 7th of July, i have made a reservation at this property trough Booking application with free cancellation. On the 11th of July, the property debited my credit card with the amount of 422 Euro representing an advanced payment for the reservation. On the 14 th of July, i have cancelled the reservation due to pandemic context, knowing that i benefit of free cancellation until the 26 th of July as an option. Booking has confirmed that the reservation was cancelled costs free, and that i will receive the amount taken in a short period of time. Since then is been over a month , i have requested at least an explication but i was totally ignored..
Very disappointing

Great location close to the beach and the port of Sivota. The rooms were really clean and staff was nice. Good breakfast and nice selection of meals in the pool bar. Hotel does not offer dinner restaurant but there are lots of nice places to eat in the harbour me. Lots of sunbeds and umbrellas by the pool and by the sea.

Its true. As we entered the apartment my wife burst into tears. Thankfully they were tears of joy . The quality of these apartments cannot be overstated. I have never had better accommodation in 40 years of traveling abroad. The lay out and the quality of the fixtures and fittings are wonderful. We stayed in a maisonette. In the lower room was a delightful lounge area with two quality sofas which could convert to beds and a breakfast kitchen. The kitchen was the best I have experienced in Greece by a long way. A proper cooking area with ample storage space and utensils was backed up by a full oven and hob for cooking. There was also a modern and efficient fridge. There was also a modern bathroom on the ground floor with sink , shower and toilet facilities. Again all of the fixtures and fittings were first class.
A marble stair case with chrome hand rail leads you upstairs to the delightful spacious bedroom. A large comfortable bed with crisp laundered sheets and extra bedding . Either side a bed side table with lamps. The large wardrobe more than coped with our clothes and luggage along with the matching dressing table. We also had an ensuite toilet and sink room.
However the quality of these facilities paled into insignificance when you opened the patio windows and stepped out onto the balcony. the view that greets you leaves you speechless. Not just for its beauty but also for the expanse of view. We always stay in places with a view but we have never had one as stunning as this. It was so good that it restricted our holiday as it was so good we were reluctant to go anywhere else due to the fact that anywhere else was second best. Not only did we have one balcony but two, both of which were large and again fitted with gleaming chrome handrails.
Walking down the path pass the stunning bougainvillea we found the sparkling natural fed swimming pool. The quiet spacious pool offered the same astonishing views and was supported by the excellent pool bar. This area was also used for breakfast in the mornings and again I have to say these were excellent quality. and value.
The whole of the site was spotless. This was due to the hardworking cleaners who left your room sparkling everyday and the owner who spent his day tending to the beautiful gardens. Bedding was changed every few days and towels daily.
my only criticism would be that they did not make the best of the opportunity to provide food at lunch time or even in the evenings. A club sandwich or toatstie is a little boring after a day or two. The location would lend itself to an evening taverna as well as there is nothing close by.
It is a 15 minute downhill walk into town which becomes a 25/30 minute uphill walk back to the apartment. This is not for the elderly or infirm although a cheap taxi ride solves the problem.
Easy access to numerous beaches via toy trains, water taxi or on foot make the resort hugely accessible.
Sivota is a delightful harbor town with ample shops , restaurants and tavernas. The harbor area is delightful with numerous yachts of varying sizes and the constant coming and goings.
We are returning next year with out doubt and I have been reluctant to write this review for fear of letting others know of this heaven on earth.

COSTA SMERALDA

I am currently flying home to the UK, weeping into my minute G&T, feeling that I will have failed in life unless l return to Costa Smeralda next year...
This stunning resort should be a pilgrimage for all weary souls, infact anyone who favours astonishing, sublime views and the true authenticity of a Greek marina with exquisite beaches.
I woke up in this resort feeling like a movie star and for once thankful for my insomnia.
Watching the flotillas, stars and hearing the sound of the ocean on the rocks beneath was a breathing taking experience 24/7... particularly magical at 3 am.
The duplex apartments are massive, well equipped with high end fittings/fixtures.
Fancy a meal in? No problem, it's all there.
The sea water, infinity pool is a lovely size, open 9am onwards and lit at night.
Breakfasts are fab. Stacks of choice.
English breakfast, cereals, fruit, yogurt. And de cent coffee too.
The In house Greek family owners are lovely, friendly and non-invasive, (live and let live vibe omitted).

Pottering into town is easy too. An easy, downhill commute on foot, taking 10 minutes and a 12-15 minute short sharp climb home, (More if your not a gym bunny/ runner!). A perfect remedy post Metaxa/ouzo. (Often given out complementarily in several local restaurants).

I'm going to include a few photos because you may then understand my enthusiasm for costa Smeralda.

I booked this hotel online and the hotel charged 30% of total booking as a deposit, which in case of cancellation the amount would be returned to my credit card. I have cancelled my booking on 25th of April and until this day (22/5/2019) I have not received a refund. I have contacted the hotel many times by phone and by email, but I have only managed to speak to the receptionist, who said would notify the accounting department.
Be very careful when booking this hotel as you may not get back your deposit!! Extremely unprofessional!!! In my opinion, try booking another hotel… :(
