Our second visit in 8 months, but not our second best!!! This trip was just as relaxing and wonderful as the first stay, despite the unpredictable February weather! Airhouses really has everything you could ever need on a holiday and, as we found out when we got caught in 2 storms, the team have everything prepared. From ensuring we could stock up in the shop and keep ourselves entertained with board games to lending torches and a snow shovel (these last 2 things weren’t needed, but handy to be prepared!). Even in the face of Storm Eunice we were given a courtesy phone call (as we were out and so hadn’t been able to answer the door) and were given advice and the offer of help if needed. The facilities are kept in perfect condition, cleaned thoroughly before arrival. The hot tub is checked twice a day and spotless. Towels (bath and hot tub) are provided, alongside slippers, dressing gowns, toiletries and cleaning products. Damian is always on hand to help and very friendly and approchable. And then of course there are all the animals! Since our last visit the alpacas have really settled in and are now as friendly and playful as all the rest of the animals on sight. We really couldn’t ask for anything else. Airhouses really have EVERYTHING! Can’t wait to return for another trip!!!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted you have enjoyed your holiday despite the weather. We have certainly had good use from the generator this year with all the storms. When the electricity goes off there is just a 30 second gap before the generator kicks in and everything is back on. We do hope you will all be back to Airhouses again soon. Many, many thanks.

Having been to Airhouses a number of times over the last 10 years we came back again with the kids, this time staying in the Buchanan lodge. The kids loved the fact that this lodge had an 'attic', i.e an upstairs and our 7 year old loved having this room to himself. The roof is quite sloped so not the room for a tall person, but still a great lodge. Everything else about the lodge is the high quality we have come to expect too. A couple of small issues were quickly rectified by Damian with no trouble, it is clear the amount of effort that is put in to keeping this place 5*. The farm itself is still beautiful with the ever changing landscape being just amazing. We had sun, wind (Storm Dudley), rain, snow & rainbows throughout the week. It is never the same and that is what we like. I took our kids for an early evening star gazing walk, and because it is lively and remote we only had to walk 100 metres from the lodge to have darkness nough to see the stars and the International Space Station fly over! The wildlife too makes for wonderful viewing, with deer outside most mornings, a possible barn owl sighting and the farm animals to entertain aswell; especially the ponies who seemed so giddy to have escaped this morning and enjoyed galloping round the lodge for a bit 🤣 We enjoyed the 5km route from the farm both walking it and the treasure trail as a family, and also running it a few times throughout the week (I would advise running down the drive first, not at the end of a run) Sadly, the threat of Storm Eunice meant we left the evening before we were due too, to avoid the risk of heavy snow on the journey home. A sad moment at the end of a great week. Can't wait to book again!

Just back from an amazing couple of days in The Lodge. Spotlessly clean, lovely extra touches.....robes, slippers, beautiful toiletries, welcome hamper with locally sourced products and well maintained hot tub. I have been to many self-catering establishments with hot tubs but the standard here is second to none. We will be back!

It was the perfect getaway for our family and what we were looking for - somewhere tranquil, with not too many people around, surrounded by nature and the clearest view of the night sky. We probably should have made more use of the hot tub when it was raining but we had one gloriously dry and sunny day when we indulged in that and the BBQ. The variety of farmyard animals - from exotic alpacas to the friendliest ever sheep, donkeys and Shetland ponies - was another treat. The lodge and all the facilities were absolutely spotless, I don't think we've ever stayed anywhere so clean and well maintained. We would stay here again without hesitation, in fact I know we will.

Just back from our stay in the Hawthorn Pod, and we've absolutely loved it. It was perfectly cosy and comfortable and spotlessly clean. It's obviously a small space, but all of the facilities and gadgets work perfectly and we never once felt like we needed more space. The bbq and hot tub got lots of use and made the holiday even more special. We would love to return, not just because of the pod but because of the stunning farm surroundings. We were made to feel welcome and comfortable by Damien. Would recommend a trip to the on site shop, which is very thoughtfully stocked. Can't recommend enough. Really couldn't have been happier with our stay!

The very minute we pulled up to the farm we spotted a deer just ambling along the tree line. Fantastic we thought, we’ve spotted a deer on the first day. That would have done us for the whole week as we don’t spot deer at all really where we live so to have spotted one on our doorstep was a real good start. Little did we know that was just the start. The pod itself is excellently made and the design is clever. Space is a premium, but we never once felt it was an issue. It actually made it feel much more cosy. The weather was warm and sunny, so we made sure the hot tub got plenty of use. The tubs were inspected twice a day so they were always clean. The BBQ hut got quite a bit of use too and even though the pod only had a microwave, again, the lack of an oven or hob, wasn’t a problem. Besides, there are plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby if you can’t face another BBQ. The highlight for us were the animals. The sheep were just fantastic and we spent a fair bit of time with them. Also the ponies, pigs, goats, alpacas, donkeys and the cows made it a special getaway. We both love animals so spending time on a farm with these was just perfect. Huge shoutout to Apple too, who has a near perfect temperament and personality. We even managed to spot a handful of wild animals ranging from badgers to bats. We arrived with the expectation of having a nice relaxing break but never expected to have a perfect break. We cannot thank the staff enough for making it a break never to be forgotten. We are also booking for next year!!!

Honestly I don’t even know where to start as Airhouses has nothing but good points! We’ve stayed all over the world and (pre Covid!) visit Scotland at least once a year since 2007, so we’ve had more than our fair share of accommodations. By the end of our first day we already knew this is, hands down, the most luxurious self catering place we have ever stayed! Good points; - All information sent in app, including pin code to enter building, well in advance of the our stay. Giving us time to find out everything we needed. - Had settled in for about an hour and then was greeted by Damian, who was on hand to answer any questions and welcome us whole heartedly. We didn’t need to call him, but he made sure we knew he was there if we did. - The taps for the shower aren’t under the shower head so you don’t get cold and soaked trying to set the shower up!! Why has no one done this before?! - Gowns, slippers, hot tub towels, bath towels, toiletries, all cleaning products and anything else you’d need in a home are all provided. Much more like a 5* hotel than a self catering lodge!!! - Welcome basket was a lovely touch, complete with local goods and souvenirs! - Very fast wifi all included in the price. A must for a pre teen daughter who wants to share it all with her friends. Also streaming Netflix, Disney etc if you bring your codes, not that you’ll need to use the TV much. - Stunning views and walks. Walks all clearly signposted and leaflets available from the on site farm shop. - The most friendly animals you’ll ever meet. Our particular favourites were Dylan and Lily the donkeys. We will miss them the most! - The hot tub is a lovely touch and we used it at least once a day! - The views are stunning in all directions and plenty of guided walks available on the app/treasure trail if you don’t want to wander around aimlessly. - Honesty shop in case you forget, need or just fancy anything! - So many games and books provided and for all ages. No reason for anyone to say they’re bored here! - Plenty of seating with views in all directions. - I could just gone on and on with these, but just know it’s brilliant and full on relaxation is a given!!! Bad points... My daughters response when I asked what TA rating to give; ‘Always give everything a 4, because no where is perfect... except airhouses!’ So there you have it! There really are no negatives and having already booked our next stay my husband has asked me to start looking at booking a third trip!! And (honestly!) we never stay in the same place twice!!! But having come up to visit family and finding somewhere so perfect we won’t need to look any further for future visits. Well done Airhouses!

We had an amazing time at The Ramsey on this lovely farm. All booking and communications were easy and quick. I especially like the app which gave us all the information we needed. The house was clean, very well furnished and equipped and really comfortable. The amenities were more like a hotel than a rental (like hot tub, extra towels, bathrobes and an amazing welcome basket!). Great location for exploring Edinburgh and the Borders. Fun animals on the farm. All round great holiday.
