Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a good place to stay - close to the town but far enough back from the main road and with its own car park. The room had everything needed and the breakfast was great, well cooked and with a choice of several cold drinks and three hot drinks. For a visitor with a gluten free diet, Arlene bought in a gluten free loaf. Would certainly go again.

Immaculately clean. Arlene is a wonderful welcoming host. Waken to birdsong to rouse you from bed. Then a big hearty country style breakfast. Old friends at Arley include Molly the gentle old labrador and Nigel the cat. Walking distance to the village. If you want to curl up in comfort and recharge the batteries under the shadow of the Mournes this is the place.

Arlene the owner was amazing, she really made me feel at home and went out of her way to ensure I was comfortable.
My room was spacious, well furnished, and sparkling clean.

It overlooked a charming garden and was almost like a separate apartment with breakfast room and patio. I loved it!

I spent 5 nights at Arley House B&B.
On arrival I was welcomed by Greg who showed me to my room room 2 a twin.
The room is immaculate as is the whole house.
The room is a good size with neutral decoration, good furniture and well co-ordinated.
The bed is comfortable with good quality bedding which made for a good nights sleep.
Tv with DVD/freesat is provided with wifi no issues with signal quality.
The ensuite is clean with a warm powerful shower with toiletries provided, the towels are good and soft.
The breakfasts are excellent you have a choice from continental to a cooked.
I had cereals, yoghurt, breakfast biscuits, scrambled egg and toast, orange juice and tea.
Arlene is a good cook very easy going and friendly.
There is a residents lounge with large screen tv where you can sit and watch tv.
Tea and Coffee are available in the lounge at any time.
Arlene and Greg have 2 young boys who are well behaved and quiet you would not know that they are there.
I thoroughly recommend this b&b warm, clean, friendly and welcoming with a good room rate, it would be very hard to find anything better.
Molly the retriever is friendly and cute, a family run b&b with a can do attitude.

stayed in arley house during the irish open golf last may. when i booked it was told I had the last available room which was a family room with double bed and 2 single beds, so booked it even though it was just for 2 of us 150 sterling per night bed/breakfast. But didnt get what I booked. Upon arrival was shown up the stairs to a room with 1 double bed,the en suite had louvre doors hardly room to turn in it and no privacy to even do a pee not even a wardrobe to hang clothes in.. Breakfast on the 1st morning was lovely but after that downhill. Very nice people as hosts but would not stay there again due to exhorbitant price. And could not figure out the t v
overall dissapointed

On business in the area, decided that since the weather was appalling we would stay overnight, on recommendation of the folk that we were there to see; we presented at the Arley house door. Welcomed like old friends, advised of a good place to eat, (no evening meals available in house) we later returned to a warm spotless room with a sparkling clean en-suite. Outside the wind and rain swept over the coast as we relaxed, drank the tea provided, chatted to our host, before retiring to our room to watch tv and read awhile before bed. A very comfortable bed at that! with proper bed linen. In the morning we awoke to a better day (more suited to a long drive) and had a truly great breakfast before settling a modest bill and heading southward. To summarise, a great warm welcome, a near perfect room, a perfect breakfast. What more is there.

John and Christine.

We had to make travel plans in a rush to visit a very sick family member. We found Arley House online and BINGO, we struck gold!
Greg and Arlene were very warm and welcoming from the word go. We were shown to our room which was spotlessly clean as was the ensuite. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was large and delicious. Tea and coffee available at any time. We really appreciated Greg's taxi service, I don't think many others would get up at 4am to get us to the airport. Greg you are a star!
Both Greg and Arlene helped what was a very sad trip bearable for us and that meant the world to us.
We have taken their business cards and will be recommending them to all our friends and family. We will definitely be staying there again.
