My view was of a house with cute sheep grazin. The best part of the hotel are Anique and Latoya - who attend to your every need. No e-mail or call goes unaddressed and response time is quick. Thank you for a great stay.
Local shopping area adjacent in Hillsborough. An excellent location to stay when visiting Carriacou.

Breakfast was meagre, the bacon rated somewhere between over-crispy and charred to death. Service was desultory, slow and lacked any professional polish. We chose to eat out for our remaining meals.
A notice in the room warned that if we left the air-con running when we left the room, staff would remove the remote control! We all recognise that energy resources are precious on such a small island but is that the best way to encourage guests? We solved the issue by taking the remote with us when we went out!
To conserve water, all the taps spring shut when you let go, making it tricky to rinse your hands. Tip - use the shower, that runs freely.
We had planned to explore the island over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We had toured the island and seen everything by Friday afternoon. The taxi that we booked for a half day tour drove as slowly as he dare and completed the circuit in less than two hours!
I notice that more recent reviewers write more positively of the Hotel Laurena. Perhaps things have improved. I doubt they could have got any worse at the time of our visit.
We were shown to the apartment we had booked which was very clean and fresh and most of all cool due to the air conditioning.
Staff were helpful throughout especially the lady who cleans the apartments. They responded well when contacted via phone which was in the apartment to deal with a blocked toilet on our last day.
I do feel the staff should be more informed on local event especially mostly tourist stay at the hotel and want to know times and dates of events. Thanks to the friendly locals all inquiries resolved.
Front balcony was nicely positioned but back balcony less to be desired.
Kitchen well equip with all you need so you have the choice to rustle up a meal. Two supermarkets in short walking distance to pick up all the essentials.
We would stay again only thing is quite pricey during regatta but all other apartments/hotels seem to put their prices up.
In April I checked my booking only to be met with confusion by the staff and delay after delay from Joel Noel as to the bookings certainty. In addition the hotel had changed its telephone number!
I have lived in the Caribbean for seven year or more and am used to a certain amount of inefficiency and inability but this took the prize.
Don't touch the place with a bargepole.
