Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort & Spa is frequently praised for its friendly staff and clean, well-maintained facilities, though some guests have encountered inconsistent service and timing issues with room cleaning. While the resort's atmosphere is described as lively and inviting, certain areas appear to have room for improvement in ambiance. Room opinions vary, with some guests appreciating recent renovations and others pointing out maintenance needs.
The secluded beachfront location is a highlight, yet room allocations have disappointed some. While the value assessment is mixed, amenities including dining options and water sports generally receive positive remarks.

We really enjoyed our stay! Large, air-conditioned rooms with large bathroom. The balcony has double glass, so you won't hear any noise from outside. The pools are huge with a swim-up bar. They are strict with opening times for restaurants to begin and end. The “Japanese” restaurant requires a reservation (I put it in quotation marks because in my opinion it is more like Chinese). It has a nice gym. There is a spa service, but I found it expensive and it was not included in the daily rate. During the day the hotel offers various activities/games.

We Just got back from a week at the resort! Very low key resort. Not busy at all but got busier when we left. Beaches- 2 beaches. One is smaller and we were there for over 5 hours one day before anyone else joined. No problem finding any seats on both. Later in the week they started to bring drinks out to you on the bigger beach
Restaurants- some are open some nights others not and the place doesn’t really say when they will be closed I think it’s based on the business of the resort. Japanese one is the only one that requires reservations. platinum ( steak house), Italian, and corral cafe (buffet) were all really good! No complaints on food but the menu doesn’t change so not too many options. Also a smaller bar/ food place by the smaller beach if you want food when other places were closed at weird times throughout day.
Pools- I believe there were 3 and seats at the pool were no problem Free with resort- glass bottom boat at 11 am (sign up day before), hobie boat, paddle boards, kayaks. 1 towel per person. Each room had free fridge drinks (water, soda)
Attire- all places were pretty casual.
Buffet a swim cover up is fine. The other restaurants besides the buffet if you just dress up a little more you might feel more comfortable. But no restrictions on shoes or outfits Bring- snorkel, water shoes, towel clips, straw (paper straws were used), cup for your alcohol (you can use there’s but it’s nice to have one), floatie for beach or pool, sunscreen ( $40 a bottle at the gift shop)
Excursions: catamaran with Dunns river: so much fun, dunns river is a must. Did snorkeling on Catamaran but snorkeling at resort beach was actually really good. Massage - had a massage at the resort- I would def do it again
Bioluminescent aka Luminous Lagoon water night time- wasn’t really bright enough for the water and water was dirty but came out with cool pics ) We booked with Tcjtours.
We will be back on the list is Blue Hole , River Tubing on White river and Rasta Safari those i heard was very good if anyone need more options.
Private Airport Transportation - Its about 1hr skipp shuttles and stops you will have better experience we used Top Choice Jamaica Tours (Tcjtours) just look for runaway bay they do private only and provide excellent service to us and our family 2 years running you will love them .
Customer Service - This was good and consistent no reason to worry about this aspect people are helpful and friendly and its also one of the reasons I will be returning we might come back the same time or looking at May I am not sure how the time will go .
Thanks to Jewels team we loved it .

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
My daughter and I had a very enjoyable 10 day holiday here and have just returned home. We were delighted with the location of our room, which was a ground floor room with an ocean view. We had booked a pool view room, so a very nice surprise as this particular room was also close to all the main amenities of the hotel. The only drawback was that we heard lots of noise coming from the piano bar and nightclub area late at night. We also had noise from other guests coming back to their rooms.
We found the staff at this hotel to be simply outstanding. We were warmly greeted wherever we went in the hotel. The food was also the best we had ever come across in an all inclusive resort. We particularly loved Platinum for dinner and breakfast with its gorgeous ocean views. We also enjoyed the pizzas at lunchtime. We also ate at the Italian which was good and the Asian restaurant which was excellent (huge portions)! The Buffet also had a great variety of food and we were told that the Jerk Shack food on the beach was excellent (although we didn’t get around to trying it ourselves). We loved getting our early morning coffee from the Coffee Shop too, walking to it through the glorious and immaculate gardens.
Our room was basic and its decor was a little tired, but it was spotlessly clean with comfortable beds with clean linens most days and our towels were changed daily, sometimes twice. Excellent shower/jacuzzi bath too. We did have a problem with the door into our room on our first/second day (we got locked in and couldn’t get out), but this issue was resolved pretty quickly. We had all that we needed and we were happy there - (we hadn’t travelled all the way to Jamaica to spend all our time in the room anyway).
The reason why I have listed my review as “Very Good” rather than “Excellent” is because of the noise levels in the hotel, whether it was from the music in the main plaza which was always played really loud or from other guests coming back to their rooms, or the Entertainment team bellowing into a microphone. You could hear noise everywhere from around 10.30am until late afternoon, and we just yearned for a quiet period or area where we could escape it. We ended up being on the beach by 8am so that we could have a couple of hours solitude and quiet before the Entertainment team started the daily activities. They did a great job, but I wish it could have been at a quieter level. (We did come here to relax and recuperate after a bereavement).
I recommend this hotel as the staff are truly wonderful. Would I return?? - Only with ear plugs!

Upon arriving at Jewel paradise Cove, we were instantly greeted with a drink and a cold towel which was much needed in the Hot Jamaican sun, check in was really easy and they took our bags straight to the room letting us explore the rest of the resort.
The rooms were incredibly clean and well air conditioned with a nice big bed.
While we were there the service was impeccable, there is always someone checking if we needed anything and if they saw our drinks running low they would make sure they were refilled sharpish.
The food at the Buffett was the best we have ever had, with a great selection and felt every dish had been freshly cooked.
The Al Carte restaurants were also flawless, great food and service. We could go as many times as we wanted, especially enjoyed the Teppanyaki as a little entertainment, plus great food goes a long way with us.
The Beach has been well maintained and every night you can see the staff sorting through and cleaning to make sure it is pristine for the next day.
We would like to give a shout to the entertainment team at the hotel who were brilliant, as well as the evening entertainment that was organised. We’d also like to give a nod to all of the team who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The service really was flawless.
All in all it was a fantastic holiday at Jewel Paradise Cove, would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone considering a holiday in Jamaica.

Standard rooms are basic & dated but bathrooms have been nicely renovated. We stayed on the ground floor, our patio door led directly to one of the pools with bar...almost as good as a "swim up"😏 All staff seemed genuinely pleasant and helpful. The grounds are beautifully maintained, many romantic nooks and seating areas. Main dining: breakfast & dinner were disappointing in terms of variety and quality. Though the aquamarine cafe offerings were very tasty and well done. Also the Irie cafe actually served really great coffee drinks. Top of the line entertainment with in house band and DJ.

This resort is battling whether it is a pool club or a resort. It cannot be both. Between the crowd of people with either day-passes or guests just acting like they haven’t been there before, day to day, the people watching was everywhere from funny to disturbing. My wife was twerked on while sitting at the pool bar. Drinks and trash were left all over the place and cleaned up by staff in a timely manner. The same guests that act foolish didn’t leave the pools for hours on end while drinking and acting dumb. So that tells ya the water was pretty warm and gross by the end of the day. The music from the main pool area blared until after midnight every single night, once until almost one. Could not sleep. The rooms aren’t insulated very well at all. The room door wasn’t sealed at all, light coming in all the way around it. The shower in the room was inside a jacuzzi tub and water would get everywhere as a result. The room had an adjoining room and the walls were thin. The room service menu is no good and not timely. Food is just okay. We were locked out of our room for almost 9 hours when the door lock malfunctioned. The desk kept sending my wife back with new keys, eventually we stayed by the pool and waited on maintenance who came and fixed the door lock 9 hours after first complaint made. Staff is only somewhat happy to be there. Emerald Lagoon is best pool area. Beach was nice on the last day, not as loud. However, there is a quiet beach but with little to no service on it. For the cost, we couldn’t justify staying at this dated, middling property again.
Do away with day-passes, more stringent guidelines for guests, hire more staff or lower costs and, therefore, expectations. If you’re traveling to Jamaica, the difference in $500-$1000 extra dollars a week is worth it when you’re spending this much money already for a relaxing vacation.
Positives? Yes. Nighttime shows were good and fun. Piano Bar was good (but couldn’t hear well because DJ Whatever playing right under it like they were in a 100,000 seat stadium). Best part was leaving and going to Dunns River

Very outdated resort. Super small. Beach is maybe 200 m long. Food was so bad, the sushi restaurant was literally DISGUSTING. There were not enough chairs for everyone and people would wake up at the crack of dawn to reserve them all with towels and then then not even use them for the whole day. There was a major lack of chairs and barely ANY SHADE on the resort! My fiance burns really easily and after 2 days in the sun we were so sick of it and couldn't get any reprieve with any shade. We went through the 2 bottles of SPF we brought after a couple days and had to spent an enormous amount of money to get another one at the shop. There was very little entertainment. When we got sick of roasting in the sun without any shade the whole day, our only other option really was to hang out in our room which was incredibly boring. We were ready to leave after 2-3 days. For >$2000 per person for the week, we would have expected a lot more. So disappointing.

Resort was out of almost all of the food on the bar menus most of the week. Bathroom shower had a clogged drain so the floor repeatedly flooded. Check in is a process that requires you to sit down and fill out forms, taking over 20 minutes to check in. Family in front of me took over 20 minutes to check out due to charges on their room they needed to pay for with multiple credit cards. With only one employee working the front desk, we were stuck behind them. House keeping was also abysmal. We would call to have fresh towels or our room cleaned (since the shower continuously flooded) and housekeeping would say they were coming and never show up. We would come back to a dirty room, then they insist on cleaning it in the evening when we are in the room trying to shower and relax. My fiancé and I’s first night after traveling all day, we had dinner at platinum. The food took over an hour and a half to come out and when it did it was good, but cold. Expect your food to take at least 30 minutes to come, if you order room service it’s even more. Overall horrible experience- it honestly felt like a scam and I am working with my credit card company to get a partial refund.

Our recent trip to Jewel Paradise Cove was Great! Don't let the hour + drive from the airport scare you away. From the airport the resort shuttle provided Red Stripe Beer along with water bottles for all. Upon arrival at the beautiful resort we were greeted by the staff and didn't need to lift a bag. Our room was spotless and had all the amenities except a makeup mirror. The fridge was stocked with soda, water and beer and was included and stocked daily. Breakfast was perfect with great coffee, fresh fruit etc. So many staff people were very welcoming and kind it really helped make our trip and this property extra special. Whitney the life guard attendant was So very helpful, pleasant and every day she went out of her way to accommodate us. She was so informative. She made sure to wish us goodbye on our last day. The two beautiful beaches are a short walk away from the property with plenty of Palm umbrellas. for shade, lounge chairs and beach floats available. All three pools were beautiful . There are several very good restaurants on the property. Make sure to get a reservation at the Jade Samurai restaurant. The food was excellent and cooked right in front of you and our Chef could really sing! The piano bar was great fun at night. Marlin is a great bartender and was so nice and funny. No matter how many people and how busy he was - service always with a smile. We also got the five course lobster dinner served in our room (we could have had it served on the beach or on the pier, but it was a windy night) - we had to drink our soup because we didn't have silverware at first, very thing was delicious and worth the extra charge! Make sure you meet Donovan at the Sunken treasure bar. He was so pleasant and fun to talk to. Highly recommend this property!

Just left this location, the first room I checked into was occupied then it took 20 mins to get a new room key card. Chlorine and ph in pool was not calibrated, it was evident the chlorine was too high ($730 worth of jewelry damaged and swim wear now tie dye). Second room tv did not work and mini bar not stocked upon arrival. Night manager offered me a replacement swim suit from the gift shop or free massage??? I don’t want a free massage I need my bracelet returned. The swimsuit I can replace. FOM over the phone offered a free night stay to return, however I have no intentions of coming back with the laundry list of issues. No top shelf liquor, night club closed, worst birthday trip ever and keeps getting worst. Housekeeping came knocking on our door at 9:40 check out is at 12. Please advise who I need to reach out to to have the issues experienced resolved. Thank you
