This place was heavenly. The customer service was something you barely see anymore. Outstanding The beauty of the place will leave you breathless. I'm American but born to Jamaican parents and I've been to Jamaica dozens of times and lived there briefly for 2 years. I love coming to a place that feels like you're actually in Jamaica versus these commercialized places that feel like you're still in America. Let me mention the beautiful private beach and handmade carvings and furnishings everywhere you turn. It's clean and safe and I really unplugged. The bed is comfortable. Food at Christopher's was great. Klint, Elvis (gave us a grand tour and was available for whatever we needed) Randy the bartender, Tanisha the restaurant attendant, Venesha, and all the grounds people and the lady who cleaned our villa (Callaloo) were all very very pleasant and professional beyond words. This is my new favorite place to stay in Ocho Rios. Couples and sandals have went downhill over the years and the reviews show it. Big resorts have downsides. This place is the place to be. The saltwater pools and great wifi and beautiful trees, plants and foliage were unforgettable. I was here with my partner and we felt like family and no one made us feel unwelcomed. I'm gonna refer all my friends and family. I'll miss them until next time Hermosa cove.

If you’re looking for a customized, ultra select, boutique resort experience, look no further than HermosaCove. The staff was incredible (especially bartender Randy and server Venesha, as well as Klent and Danielle in the front office) . From the Chef to the cleaners to the Bellman and beyond. The food is also extremely delicious and healthy if you wanted it to be. They are so accommodating and are so amenable to creating a guest experience that is 5-STAR!!! We attended my cousin’s wedding a few years ago and were so excited to come back to celebrate her 70th! We also felt very safe with the drivers who were prearranged to come and get us from the airport. It was an overall INCREDIBLE experience, and we cannot wait to share it with the world!

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I loved this property. It is a gorgeous and unique hotel. So many artistic details in and around the villas and landscape make this a wonderful haven for writers, creatives, and the like.
So what went wrong?
There seemed to be some miscommunication around food and inconsistent service.
Before my arrival, I was asked if I wanted my villa/fridge to be pre-stocked, and I requested water, coconut water, and healthy, low-sugar snacks/fruits/vegetables, including apples and plums. The response was, "Consider it done. Sounds good."
Upon check-in to the Cottonwood Treehouse, what awaited me was a plate of cookies, some mango, and a slice of banana bread. And filtered water in the fridge. It wasn't what I requested, but I was thankful nonetheless; there was something.
At Christophers, the main restaurant, I ordered the Vegan Ragout (Rundown) a few times, and the ingredients included tofu, yet two times I ordered it, there was no tofu.
I also asked (repeatedly) for a fresh Coconut for coconut water and jelly at The Broken Rudder, the bar above the beach, and I kept being told, tomorrow, or we're getting it for you, and it never came.
I never said anything about these items to the staff because, as a Travel Advisor, I often like to see and experience the truth of their service.
Also, as a solo female traveler, I often experience different levels of service, which was the case here, as I felt some of the male staff disdained me or were quite aggressive, and I felt uncomfortable sometimes.
Props to Elvis for being prompt in handling my luggage and for showing me the Nautilus house while it was vacant. And, Mrs. Dawn, for the best massage I've had in a long time.
Many people, especially in the hospitality industry, feel burned out. Given the tumultuous past few years, we are all doing our best, including me. I can take a step back and see where I can improve my life. At the same time, when paying $500+/night, one would hope the service is consistent and respectful.
Would I return? I want to, and at the same time, I probably would only do so if I was in the company of friends or with a partner.

LiveLightandTravel, Thank you for your review. We respect the views of all our customers and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Although it's not quite what we would like, we always seek to find the positives in every situation. For us, we know that not all experiences will be perfect, but we always try to ensure they are. Having read your review, we must apologize for your experience as there were some instances of concern. Though you decide not to have mentioned it like we hoped so we could rectify it then and there we also appreciate that you didn't just leave it alone. If you didn't then we would not have the opportunity to become better. We assure you that your concerns are duly noted and will be held as a high priority. The areas where you felt enough attention was not made, the meals weren't as described on the menu, and a breakdown in communication or responsiveness from a staff member are all areas that we pride ourselves in to ensure they do not occur. With that being said we would be very happy if you decided on returning to HC, this way we would be able to "right the wrongs" you would have experienced. We remain confident that your experience overall was satisfying, and hope we get the opportunity to give you an even greater Hermosa experience. Yo

My fiance and I just returned from our third stay at Hermosa Cove in the last 4 years. We were fortunate enough to be able to stay at Nautilus House this time and I cannot overstate how amazing our visit was. The decor is eclectic but tasteful and the bedroom offered a panoramic view of the water from an extremely comfortable and romantic king size bed. The landscaping, buildings, gardens, beach and pool make you feel as though you are in a whimsical but luxurious fairy land. All of the staff pay incredible attention to detail and take great pride in being an integral part of the Hermosa Cove experience. Klent, Danielle, Elvis, Nikki, Renita, Chef, Aneika and Randy plus all of the other staff are now like family. The staff's friendliness, consideration and attention to detail are second to none. At Nautilus House we had our own private plunge pool, several outdoor seating areas and a breathtaking access point for the Caribbean. Gazing out at the sea from an open stained glass windows in the walk-in shower was mesmerizing. We were able to have privacy, but could also go to the bar or the restaurant to socialize with the staff and other guests. The food at the restaurant is delicious and my native Jamaican fiance loved the Jamaican breakfast, and whole steamed snapper at dinner. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. We were also lucky enough to be there when they had a barbeque for all of the guests that was so delicious!! We booked our stay in the Treehouse Villa for next summer as we were checking out and I am already counting down the days until we can spend time in this simply magical place again. Thank you to everyone at Hermosa Cove for making this trip as memorable as the previous two!!

Hermosa Cove is wonderful! They graciously accommodated our large group of 14-16 people. They always had a table for us at their restaurant (or bar) and helped us make multiple birthday celebrations extra special. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and approachable. They helped make our stay as relaxing as possible. Among many things, they helped us get groceries for our villas, find transportation for excursions, and navigate Hermosa Cove's amenities. And they did it all with a smile! I'm very grateful for them. The resort itself is beautiful. It's nice to walk around and hang out by their small beach. I really enjoyed snorkeling and birding while I was there. And the gardens are gorgeous. I'd recommend Hermosa Cove to anyone visiting Ocho Rios. It's a great option if you don't want an all-inclusive resort, but you still want the simplicity of having a restaurant, bar, and beach around the corner. I hope to make it back someday!

This was my second major occasion held at Hermosa Cove; discovered this resort in 2017 and have been coming back regularly since. After having a successful and beautiful beach wedding in October 2018 that was executed brilliantly by Hermosa's awesome staff, I decided to have my significant birthday at this resort.
My birthday event featured the infamous Hermosa Cove BBQ, a Tea Party at the Sea Biscuit villa, a Bourbon & Whiskey event at the Nautilus villa, the Beach Picnic on the Cove Beach, the Birthday Party Dinner on the 2nd floor of Christopher's (main restaurant), and the finale--a Jamaican-style dinner at the Broken Rudder (outdoor restaurant). As a result of all the unique events, my guests were extremely delighted; half of whom were at the wedding in 2018, and half who were amazed first-time guests.
Hermosa Cove Villas and Resort has the most dedicated staff, many who have been with the resort for 10+ yrs. Special kudos to Klent & Danielle (office), Elvis (the go-to guy), Chef Conroy and other special people in housekeeping, wait staff, water sports and groundskeepers. Whenever you make your visit to Hermosa Cove Villas & Resort, you will understand and appreciate the uniqueness of this property.

My husband and I visited Hermosa Cove the last week of spring for our honeymoon. We stayed in the Calabash Villa. The house was stunning and had all the comforts of home. The outdoor living space included a well curated selection of tropical plants and flowers in a small private garden. There was a dining gazebo, covered patio with fans, and a gorgeous plunge pool that was perfect for floating. The sun deck was a great place to read and nap between dips. The private, walled space made us feel like we were alone in paradise.
The grounds had a well maintained walking trail through a lush patch of rain forest. There was several small private beaches with clean, white sand and crystal clear water. It was warm and looked turquoise and blue from the villa and oceanfront dining hall. There was a reef around the beach for snorkeling and kayaking. There were also three lovely saltwater pools overlooking the ocean. Like the villa garden, the grounds were landscaped with colorful plants and flowers. It was warm and breezy, with wafting scents of saltwater and tropical blooms.
Though we were in walking distance to several little shops, we rarely left the resort. There was full service dining with delicious and healthy meals on site. The bar served well crafted cocktails with fresh ingredients and colorful pressntations. The staff at the resort and its restaurant were friendly, accommodating, and professional. They made a great impression on us. We appreciated the care they took to make sure we were comfortable and that our needs were met. The were prompt, helpful, and available whenever we called in them. We plan to celebrate our anniversaries with Hermosa Cove in the future. It exceeded our expectations. We are the kind of folks who like world travel and usually find ourselves vacationing in busy European city scapes. We both agreed that this vacation was the most relaxed and fun filled we have taken. It was a great place to start our life together.

Upon arrival at Hermosa Cove we were greeted with warm kindness and fresh juice. Our bell hop and all all around utility employee Elvis, greeted us with a smile and a genuine “Welcome Home.” Elvis keeps a garden on sight and if you ask kindly he will give you a behind the scenes tour and a handful of fresh Scotch Bonnets. Hermosa Cove is much more than a resort but a low key, no pressure environment where human connections can be made. The resort is secluded under a lush canopy of tropical vegetation that overlooks blazing blue water and coral reefs. The grounds are well maintained, safe to wander and the staff is entirely warm and welcoming. Our villa, Nutmeg Hall reminded me of a Creole Plantation house. It was well stocked and very comfortable. There is not a bad location at Hermosa Cove as the resort is not a sprawling mega structure. Everything is within a short, relaxed walk. The staff will literally drop what they are doing to guide you where you need to go versus just pointing somewhere. I am not the type of person that is content to just always sit while on vacation and had the fortunate opportunity to me the resort owner, Rob Quinn. He was headed into town with Chef Conroy to shop a the street market and offered to take me. I did not have to be asked twice. The sights, sounds and smells of the market were a fantastic way to spend my first day in Ochi. We bought fresh fruit, jerked pork and cold Red Stripe beer. The resort offers a decent walking/fitness trail, tennis, 3 salt water pools along with a full service restaurant and bar that you can order lunch at. In addition, there are water sports such as kayaking and snorkeling that are a “MUST DO” while visiting. Our guide and one of many new friends we made, Xavier, was phenomenal to spend time with. He was patient and passionate about the aquatic life along the coast line. We are missing Hermosa Cove with a passion today and look forward to getting back sooner than later!

We spent a total of 3 weeks at Hermosa Cove and had a great time. The complex is very well maintained and offers many options: tennis, outdoor fitness, snorkeling, 3 pools... The house we stayed in was very clean and equipped with everything you need. Minor problems were always resolved immediately. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and always very helpful. We also felt very safe in the complex. We can highly recommend the hotel/complex.

We were a party of eight, celebrating our 60th with our three grown up kids and their partners, from the UK. Hermosa Cove was the perfect start to our trip to Jamaica. The grounds are beautiful and it is a magical slice of Jamaica.
The pick up was well organised and we met Delroy at the airport and appreciated the box of chilled drinks, power ballads and sports chat.
On arrival we were met by Klint, and his cute two-year-old son, who gave us a warm welcome and efficient check in. Elvis showed us around our Villa, Pimento Hall, and the grounds. Even at twilight it was very beautiful and the sounds from the cicadas and frogs were incredible. We couldn’t wait until morning to explore in daylight.
The villa was very comfortable and stylish. The balcony from the master bedroom was a great place to watch the daybreak and bird life. Yes, there was music from the street overnight but it didn’t disturb us too much. Be sure to mention to Danielle if it’s too loud. The dip pool at the villa was great place to gather around before breakfast. We ate at Christopher’s which had something for everyone, particularly enjoyed the ackee and salt-fish and banana bread French toast.
The cascade pools were great for swimming, splashing around in and soaking up the sun with a red stripe. The beach is small, and the sea a little rocky, but the view was beautiful and we lounged on the hammock and had a dip in the sea.
Elvis (he is a real asset) took us on a tour of the grounds which was so interesting and his enthusiasm for HC is infectious. He showed us behind the scenes in the craft workshop and house plant collection. We had fresh coconut off the tree which was a first for the kids. It was one of the highlights of our Jamaica tour.
In the afternoon some of us headed out with Xavier kayaking and snorkelling. They really looked after us and we saw the reefs, small fish, stingray and sponges. I hadn’t snorkelled before and, though it was very tiring, I was definitely thrilled to do it.
We had excursions to the Luminous Lagoon and Blue Hole, both worth doing if you wish to explore further.
We loved Hermosa Cove and if you would like a boutique experience, beautiful setting and warm friendly people, which feels more like Jamaica, then you will love it too!
