Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Was visiting Grenada in early Aug 2015 to drop my child at St George's Univ. Odessa and Ray were extremely helpful, pleasant, and generous hosts. Their place is very well kept and they go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious - fresh fruit from their garden, fresh juice ....yuuumm. Enjoyed my chats with Odessa and Ray.....thank you very much for making my stay comfortable and memorable....will surely return during my next visit. You are the best, and am glad I found your location...will not stay at any other place.

Others have described Ray and Odessa, your hosts at Casabella, in glowing terms. For me words don't suffice. They are simply what has been stated: warm, caring, gracious, knowledgeable about their island in depth, helpful and fun, to boot. I miss them and Odessa's delicious island cuisine.

Their property is a long-time dream come through. Ray cares for it like a loving dad. It is an elegant villa high above Lance Aux Epines Bay near the southern tip of the island near unspoiled beaches and the lively capital. From the pretty infinity pool the view is wonderful. Tasteful design and flowers galore complete the picture.

The villa is immaculately clean, well-furnished and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. It has been called a Grenadian gem. I'd call Odessa and Ray Grenadian jewels as well.

Do yourself a favor and experience Casabella. I'm glad I did.

I stayed here with my wife from March 5th to 12th, 2015. We opted for an upgraded meals since the cost was reasonable, and I read good things about the home cooking. More about that later.

The house itself is modern, spacious, well thought out and very open concept. It's solid as a rock, and literally has foot thick rock walls. From the 3rd floor you can look down into the kitchen, which was very cool. Nevertheless, the rooms themselves are quiet. Sleep was peaceful on the whole we felt revived and energized stayng there. The seemingly always warm Grenadian climate and calming sea breeze also helped I'm sure.

The property is easy walking distance, perhaps 300 metres, to a quiet beach (Prickly Bay), which is good for relaxation and families with small children. The waves seem to more gentle then larger beach such as Saint Anse, which is also walking distance though a good 20 minutes, including some not-tiny hills.

The room we stayed in was on the top floor with two beds. It's the most expensive room but even including meals less than half of some resorts in the area. It has character and is large. The bathroom is modern and works well - there is ample hot water. An on-demand instant heater
supplements the solar water but I found the more tepid solar water to be pleasing. The house has nice features but could use perhaps a few more things which I will recommend to the owner, Ray. For example, a few bikes for customer use would be nice. The large Infinity pool which is very lovely, which we used a few times as well.

The food was very good, prepared hygenically with natural often often farm fresh ingredients Many of the fruts and vegetables come from the property itself, or other land nearby. Bannna, grapefruit, mangos, coconuts right off the tree. I would say that root vegetables are more
used than bread and pasta, which is a change but probably a good one. Nonetheless, bread is available too if you need it. We had 3 dinners: one fish, one beef and one chicken - with vegetables and one time a wonderful pea soup.

Ray and Odessa have a lot on their plates when the house is full, but nevertheless took time out to make us feel welcome and special. They helped us orientate ourselves; We took the bus about to a few places including St. Georges which is a bustling little town. They are very considerate and helpful, so I don't know what else anyone wants in a host and hostess who have lives too.

Staying in a B&B is quite different than an all inclusive resort, so you do have to arrange your own fun to a large extent. However I think the quality of the experience is more authentic and I do feel like I have a more true-to-life perception of Grenada which is a great take-home gift as well.

Thanks for everything and hoping to be back!

I was lucky enough to stay at Casa Bella for almost 3 weeks, escaping the icy winter on the East Coast for the warmth of Grenada and of Odessa and Ray's wonderful B&B. Because I was staying for an extended period, I booked a studio apartment, so that I could prepare meals and because the rate was very reasonable! The apartment was not that big, but perfectly sized for one person. There is plenty of room to move about, eat or work at the table, and there is a closet with ample space. The kitchen came with everything you'd need, including a microwave (I didn't use that though), toaster, gas oven and large fridge. The room had A/C, which I also didn't use, as I was cool enough with the ceiling fan. The screens on the front door and windows kept out the mosquitoes well.

Since I was self-catering, I didn't have breakfast in the main house, but I was fortunate enough to sample some of the fruits they grow on the grounds. Especially the mangoes. Oh, the mangoes. I still dream about them. Other than that I bought my groceries in town, and carried them back on the bus. Casa Bella is in a lovely and quiet residential area near the university, and you can take the bus to town very easily. Sometimes you're lucky and a bus comes down the main road that leads to the house, but if not, you'll walk about 15-20 minutes to get to the junction where the bus stops. If you have mobility issues, plan for an alternative. I found the buses easy to use, and was glad not to have to rent a car and drive on the left side of the road and all that.

The B&B amenities are many. There is a great pool, a deck with a view that makes you weep, beautiful grounds, proximity to the airport, and a beach within 5 minutes walk. I found this beach much better than the circus at Grand Aanse, and of course you can't beat the convenience.

My parents came down for the last week of my stay, and Odessa went out of her way to make their stay a memorable one. From the beginning I wrote several emails before booking, asking questions about special accommodations they would need, and she was always prompt and helpful in her replies. My parents' room was cozy and comfortable, and they enjoyed their breakfasts of fresh fruit, toast, juice, hot or cold cereal, coffee or tea, etc. They also had some dinners and both Odessa and Ray are great cooks!! Unfortunately, at the end of the trip, my dad took ill from a prior medical condition and Odessa and Ray sprang into action, calling a doctor to the house and assisting us in every way possible, clearly concerned about him. I was so thankful to be at a small, family-run B&B rather than an impersonal hotel.

Ray & Odessa's hospitality was certainly a highlight of my stay overall. They are such warm and friendly people who will welcome you like family and include you as much as you like, or give you space if that's what you want. The staff are also lovely, and I interacted the most with Marva (hope I'm spelling that correctly) who was super friendly and also went out of her way for me. All in all it was a magical trip and is the only place I'll stay when I go back to Grenada.

The house is really nice with 5-8 meters ceilings in the main areas. The view from the breakfast area is very nice too. Everything is spotless. Odessa - one of the hosts - was very welcoming and sweet.

But the rooms are relatively small. The size on its own would be ok but as far as I understand none of them has a view (I was on the top floor and was still facing some backyard something). I do not know about all but my room had a shared bathroom with another room on the floor and I could see the same for the one floor down.

The food in the evening was ok but not really a good restaurant quality - although a good restaurant price... Breakfast has a little served plate of fruits and tea/coffee included but if you want omelette, etc you have to pay extra.

I vacated my room around 11am (they have 12 o'clock check-out) but stayed in the (empty) breakfast area doing my emails. I was asked to leave from the breakfast terrace and the house by 2pm without any delays even I was still waiting for some of my laundry to dry (and working on emails). It is true we did not click with Ray who is an owner of the place and it clearly influenced the overall atmosphere of my stay there (although I try to be as arbitrary as possible). But I still found that pushing me out of the empty common area a bit rude, frankly...

I presume most of you will not have any problems with Ray (though it has happened to me) but no view at all in the rooms and also shared bathrooms are something I found not expected from the place with the highest rating here...

Four of us stayed with Odessa and Ray for 2 nights prior to embarking on a sailing cruise last month. From the moment Odessa picked us up at the airport to the moment we hugged her goodbye two days later at Port Louis, we couldn't have been treated more warmly, courteously, or professionally. What a spot! Our first night's dinner (modest charge) and our included breakfasts were served on an upstairs veranda with a million dollar view. The pool was a treat, the rooms were quiet and comfortable, but most of all the care of our hosts was genuinely gracious. We'll be back one day!

My wife and I stayed here in March 2014. We were looked after like royalty. Ray picked us up at the ferry port in his comfy Hummer and took us to his lovely house. We had arranged a meal in advance and were delighted with the high quality of O'dessa's cuisine. You won't find a better guest house than this. It is well connected with frequent buses to go into town or to the main beach. A smaller but lovely beach is a few minutes walk in Prickly Bay by the Calabash resort. Several good restaurants are also an easy walk.

We had the great privilege to become a part of the Casa Bella family and to really get to know Mr. Ray and Mrs. Odessa on a personal level. For the last three years, my husband and I rented an apartment in the bed and breakfast while my husband was a student at the medical school in Grenada. When you live in a place for three years, you become family. Mr. Ray and Mrs. Odessa took care of us like we were their own children. When I got sick, Mr. Ray made me a massive pot of homemade chicken noodle soup. When they noticed we were stressed and tired, they brought us dinner. When Mr. Ray saw that my husband was studying late at night, he checked on me periodically and made sure I felt safe. Mr. Ray even took my dog out on days where we couldn't come home. Mrs. Odessa would fold our laundry for us when we got busy. The housekeeper Mava was sweet, nice, and extremely trustworthy. We became friends with her and made sure to leave her and her sons school supplies when we left the island. Also, right before I left Grenada, I got pregnant with twins and craved mangos like crazy!! So, every day, Mr. Ray would bring me mangos "for the babies." You should stay at the B&B just to try them. They are the best mangos on the entire island. (Trust me, I've tried every variety!) Ultimately, the Caesar Family is honest, sweet, and kind. Anyone who has the opportunity to get to know this lovely family will remember their stay at Casa Bella forever. We feel so fortunate that we got to stay at the B&B for three years when usually travelers only get to stay for a few days at a time. We loved every minute of living at Casa Bella, and there is no way we could ever repay Mr. Ray and Mrs. Odessa for all the kindness and love they showed to our family over the last three years. We have only been living in the United States for a few weeks now, and we miss them very, very much. We can't wait until our journey takes us back to Grenada so we can see our second parents again!

First of all, I must thank all the TripAdvisor members for their reviews! It has become a wonderful and powerful tool to plan one's travel. My wife and I never stay at huge hotels and TA makes it easier for us to make choices.

Casa Bella is a very clean and nicely situated house. Hosts are extremely welcoming and warm. It is nice to be able to "slide into" the local environment with the help of a well-wishing host. We were greeted at the airport by Ray, the owner of the house. Odessa, his wife is an exemplary and thoughtful host. The three of us stayed in a large bedroom and felt like we had a huge house to ourselves. The breakfasts were great and sufficient.

We fell in love of Grenada, but one thing that it is not is a "foodie" destination. Do not expect an exquisite cuisine.

Ray and Odessa made sure that we had all our questions answered and helped us make car reservation, choose between local travel destinations, etc...

I disagree with the comments regarding high pricing. I made an extensive research on local accommodations and concluded that Casa Bella B&B prices are reasonable and adequate. You will have a wonderful house, great common areas, great outside areas, including the swimming pool for those who wish to stay in, everything is squeaky-clean.

Odessa and Ray, the hosts of Casa Bella B&B are absolutely the best. The location is convenient – a short walk to the beach and an easy drive to restaurants and other destinations in the southwest of Grenada. The drive to the airport is < 10 minutes. The home is nicely located on a hillside with very nice views to Prickly Bay, including sunsets over the bay.

The home itself is modern with an open concept, really high ceilings and wood throughout. With an early morning flight we did not have the opportunity to have the normal breakfast in the breakfast terrace. However it looked like a nice spot with scenic views to the bay in which to enjoy breakfast. The room itself was nice enough but somewhat non-descript – it could use some more pictures etc. The bathroom is not en-suite but with us being the only guests the night we were at Casa Bella it was no issue. When I could not get an Internet connection on my Netbook I was offered use of one of Odessa’s laptops, which worked fine.

But what makes Casa Bella ‘excellent’ is Odessa and Ray. We’ve met some very nice innkeepers over the years but can’t think of more friendly and hospitable hosts. From the moment we arrived, greeted with a smile, we were welcomed in to their home. We were immediately served some of Odessa’s personally made fruit juice. In addition to suggesting a number of restaurants Odessa phoned a couple to make sure they were open. Although as mentioned we left by 6:30 am, both Ray and Odessa were up at 6:00 am, making us coffee and a couple of sandwiches to take with us to eat for breakfast at the airport. It is this type of care for their guests that make Odessa and Ray wonderful hosts and Casa Bella B&B and excellent choice.

Dear Aileen, Sorry for the delay in our response. A car isn't necessary to get to several stores, the beach, or a local bus. The nearest beach, Prickly Bayis just 5 minutes walk, which is in a secluded cove with gentle waves. The large public beach, Grand Anse is also walking distance, perhaps 20 to 30 minutes depending on your pace. Along the way are several food stores, restaurants and clubs. Also there is a nearby bus stop which can connect you to the island transportation systems. Taxis also run and pick up passengers along the way. That said it's also possible to rent a car if you are adventurous. Driving is on the left side as in Europe so North Americans may take some time to adjust to this! Hope this helps! Ray & Odessa ,
