At $75.00 a night this did not go down well. When this was brought to the owner's mother's attention, we were shouted at and insulted! Have since been told by employees there that she is VERY rude! Had we not paid in advance we would have left there and then!
Not a bad place but customer relations and hotel policies need to be revised!!
I didn't do any cooking but there are ample appliances for the job..and the fridge cooled up really fast..for the beers. The air conditioning was a breeze and a quick flick of the remote , soon got rid of the balmy humidity that is the Caribbean.
Note that the phone in the room needs to be credited and this can be done at Reception. Its actually a mobile connection ( Digicel) stuck to the wall like a landline phone. Wireless internet is available, but make sure you get Reception to tell you which modem you need to log in with, as room location affects signal strength. Oh... and the password to link up to the internet reads like an elongated serial number ! The owner was looking into getting it shortened. The wireless does work very well, once these hurdles are crossed !.
The maid service was very prompt and efficient , clearing away any signs of Grand Anse's (a 10 minute walk away) golden sand from the bed and floor !
You can rent a car/suv at the apartment and leave it at the airport if you are flying out. Well worth staying there again. Cheers !
Pros:
Cleaned every day
Dabs car rentals on site
Equipped kitchen - a hodge podge of the very basic utensils
Staff helpful and friendly
Cons:
Very NOISY. These apartments are located on a very busy road. The sound of the vehicles could be heard on the top floor and the ground floor.
No pool
No outdoor space to relax
Layout of rooms weird, You walk in to the bedroom area and then into the dining/kitchen area
TV in bedroom so you have to lay in bed to watch TV
Have to request a microwave and iron if one is needed
Lots of junk stored on property, under buildings and between buildings
On a steep hill. If you cannot climb steps request a ground floor apartment
No hot water in first apartment, had to switch apartments and the hot water was moderately better
Lots of mosquitoes - the balcony which opens up on to an overgrown piece of land where the mosquitoes seem to be coming from so couldn't really sit in that area and enjoy the open space
Don't drink the water from the taps, get bottled water.
Spend a little more money and stay somewhere else that is maintained better.
Charming management and staff, too!
I recommend it frequently to friends and business colleagues

"I saw three rooms while there and the best was located on an upper floor near the road."Read full review
