There something quite magical about sitting on a veranda, a thousand feet above a beautiful silken sandy cove with waves gently caressing the beach, the sun glistening off the almost white sand, watching boats and ships coming and going in the distance whilst getting a sun tan, even in the shade. This Grand Circle view is even more amazing at night as the spectacular sunset kisses the sea goodnight at about 6:00 pm. Then the whistling frogs start to issue their love call to potential partners, bats, flick by, uncaring of their rapid, blind passage, and local dogs bay for a short period before their owners take them indoors to feed them.

It all adds to the eventual tranquility of an early night after dinner, after sunset and, if there is a downside to this paradisal island, that is it, the early darkness. For at night the steep, narrow, rutted roads, with their sheer drops to one or both sides are deadly if not treated with respect, so take care and take a torch.

Very few hotels have such a magnificent commanding view of Grand Anse beach, but the Bay House Hotel, Jean Anglais, St George's, Grenada is one that does, in spades! The access is as I described above, steep to a degree of mountainous, so a vehicle is preferable, but once up there, wow!

We were there for almost a month and got to know the staff quite well. They were all, friendly, attentive, helpful and discreet; we couldn’t have asked for more. Lotten, the hotel owner, in particular is very kind, and a wonderful host,

The restaurant is run by Belinda, a renowned island chef. It hadn’t been open for long when we were there but dinner on the veranda, is something special and I believe there are plans to expand the menu.

The rooms are air conditioned, so very comfortable and the accommodation very clean.

On the lower terrace, there is a swimming pool, with adjacent paddling pool, and that too was very clean with crystal clear water at a good temperature.

The room’s hot water is heated by the sun and our time there coincided with the wet season, which was late, so we sometimes only had warm water for a shower in the early morning, something the hotel is working on. However, once you accept that time is an illusion in Grenada, nothing is quick and anyway, when on holiday it doesn’t really matter.

So, slow down, accept the Grenadian way, chill, get up later and shower then. It worked for us, I hope I works for you.

Enjoy.

We stayed at the Bay House for our 5+ days of quarantine. We were well taken care of. Excellent breakfasts were included. Evening meals were available. These were excellent. We did order in some meals from local restaurants. Our room had a veranda overlooking Grand Anse which gave excellent views of both sunrises and sunsets. But it was in full sun and too hot to use in the hours around midday. Because of quarantining we couldn't use the gorgeous pool two floors below our veranda, but it sure was inviting. Service was great. Easy to communicate with staff via What's App. When we were released from quarantine, our bill wasn't ready, but they knew we were staying with family nearby and said that they would email the bill that showed the still owed amount. First time I ever left a hotel/guest house with an unsettled bill!

We have just spent a wonderful week at this boutique hotel. Our room was well equipped and had a balcony which overlooked the inviting pool and had magnificent views of the famous Grand Anse beach. The staff at the hotel were friendly and provided a good service. A continental breakfast is served each day with the option of a cooked breakfast also available. Dinner can also be arranged and we enjoyed an amazing Chicken Alfredo that the chef cooked to order on the day of our journey home. If you enjoy something more personal than a large hotel and a feeling of being "at home" whilst being on holiday then Bay House is an ideal choice. Whilst staying in Grenad, the Bay House was also my venue of choice to hold a party to celebrate my recent birthday. It was the perfect setting with everyone enjoying the wonderful view and the breeze blowing through on the veranda. The staff went out of their way to ensure all the guests had a great time. It truly was a memorable holiday.

Beautiful property, very comfortable. We had a sea view room that took your breath away. Nice meals and drinks. Great value for money. Would return.
Annie was our local tour guide and driver we would ask for her at the hotel.
We walked down to the beach a couple of times. Took the shuttle once. Got Annie to drive us back up the hill.
Book this place you won’t be disappointed.
Top tip for the hotel more clothes hangers only had 2, and shampoo/conditioner in bathroom.

We had such an amazing time at the Bay House. Beautiful location with spectacular views, newly fitted and spacious rooms and great service. The hotel offers a shuttle to and from the beach which is easy and a late check out was also possible. We found that our stay at Bay House was authentic and perfect, will definitely be back. Two minor points for the future: the continental breakfast is basic and could easily be improved. The rooms had no shampoo which meant having to find a shop to buy. Apart from this, we would highly recommend staying here for the best of Grenada.

We didn't know the hotel, because we had booked another hotel that would be on the coast. The driver at the airport said he would drive us to the B house instead. I thought it was nearby the other hotel, so we were very surprised when the car suddenly turned up a steep hill. At the same time it felt uncomfortable that we didn’t know where the man was going to take us. The road was very steep and also narrow. That it would only take 16 minutes to walk to Anse Beach sounds strange. A dog may be able to do it, but the slope was steep. However, the centre of the town of Grand Anse is considerably further away. "Free shuttle to the beach every day" was not true. The restaurant was closed when we arrived and the front desk staff had a superior attitude. It was not possible find any place which served food. The room had a stair with rounded corner. The stair was dark and if it is dark it itsn’t easy to see this.

+ The lady in charge of the breakfast was accommodating and nice. She raises the grade from 1 to 2

I stumbled on this wonderful property on Airbnb. It looked very good in photos but turned out to be even better in person. I absolutely loved the decor and style of the place!

My room (I was upgraded to a sea view) was small but very cute. The balcony had amazing views over Grand Anse beach. The common areas of the villa were very spacious and inviting.

I did not know there was a restaurant on site as well. That, and particularly the quality of the food and the number of vegetarian options available, was a very nice surprise.

All in all, I very much enjoyed my short stay and will certainly return on my future trips to Grenada. It’s a beautiful, friendly and affordable place to stay, highly recommended.

Unbeatable views, beautiful boutique hotel and our queen ocean view suite was perfect for the two of us. Staff was lovely and helpful, pool was nice and entire hotel was fresh and tranquil. Check in was seamless, light breakfast, great location (despite the hills).

We stayed here in June 2023 for 2 weeks. It’s a really stunning property. It’s been tastefully decorated with clean lines and splashed of art. The staff are wonderful and lotten the owner is very friendly and helpful. The views are spectacular. It’s very clean, lovey bathrooms and in our room you could lie in bed and look at the views. Breakfast was basic, but we saved ourselves for going out. It’s a walk down a steep hill which we walked a few times. But I wouldn’t attempt to walk up. The taxis are very good and cheap. Also Lotten was happy to take us which was great.
The pool was superb. All in all a great place to stay. We are planning on returning to Grenada as we found it to be quiet, super friendly, lovely food and drinks, we loved swimming as the sun went down, snorkelling at the underwater sculpture was amazing. Eco dive were absolutely outstanding. We also took a kayak out.
We hope to book sea breeze apartments which lotten also owns. It’s a five minute walk to grande anse beach and as we were there all the time it makes it easier for us.

We just went for dinner on a Monday with friends who were staying there… the venue and hotel itself is beautiful with spectacular views, the staff were welcoming and generally friendly however the meal and service was a huge disappointment, I was expecting something special for a three course set meal at 150EC and hoping for another great restaurant to add to our list as foodies who live here several months a year and enjoy eating out. Maybe it was because it was a Monday and there were staff issues but we were the only people dining….the sides came up from the kitchen about ten minutes before the rest of our meal so it was cold by the time we ate it, no apologies, nobody asked us if everything was ok, or did we want another drink… and the food was pretty bland and didn’t live up to the description….a real shame, we may try again on another night.
