I cannot say enough good things about this resort. First, the grounds are incredible - expansive, lush, beautiful lighting at night time. You truly feel like you are in paradise. When you arrive, they greet you in the lobby with juice and champagne. If you do the preferred club, you get a private tour of the resort on your way to your room. There are no true "swimout" rooms, but there are some with a path to the pool. We stayed in Building 6. The path from the lobby to our room took us past the world cafe, which is the buffet open for all meals. Then past the Explorer's Club for ages 3-12 (I'll get into that in a minute), then past the flamingo lagoon. Beyond our room was the preferred club, Oceana, Seaside Grill, Bordeaux, the swim up bar, then the beach! Almost the entire walk from the lobby to the beach you have the pool next to you. The beach is beautiful. Preferred has beds that you can stay on, there seem to be enough chairs. I did not experience harassment from sales people on the beach. The water is not always terribly calm but it is beautiful and safe to swim in. We spent the majority of our time poolside - if you are in the ground level of the buildings on the "right" side of the resort and you have a child that naps a good monitor will be in range for you to be poolside while the child naps. There are plenty of staff who make their way down the pool to take drink orders. Or, you can take a quick walk to one of the many bars to get your drinks. Our children LOVED the Explorer's Club! Generally the activities start at 10:30am with a break at 5pm, then resume from 6:30-9. They will take the kids to eat lunch and dinner. The procedures were very COVID and child safe. The staff gives you a cellphone when you check the kids in that you keep with you in case they need to contact you and you can pick your child up at any time. In the lobby daily there is a spot to grab the day's activities for the resort as well as for the Explorer's Club. The staff employed safety procedures the same as we have in the US for daycare/school/preschool. They also take the children's temperatures before they enter the program to make sure they are COVID safe. Our daughters loved Leidy, Perla, Grey, and Lily from the Explorer's Club! For adults, the entertainment staff is fun and engaging but definitely not too pushy. There are fun activities you can participate in at various times. Our favorite restaurants were Oceana for breakfast and lunch and Seaside for dinner. No reservations needed. A quick bite is easy at the beach bar (burgers, hot dogs, nachos) or trattoria (pizza). The buffet actually had a lot of really good options as well. I did not love Portofino, nor did my husband. The japanese and chinese restaurant was good as well. We went to one show, the Magic Show, which was great. The shows start at 930 generally so if you have little ones be prepared for a bit of a late night. The staff is generally incredibly friendly and so hard-working. We did tip, but many people do not. The rooms I did not find to be "dated" at all. They were well-kept, well-cleaned (Emeida from housekeeping was AMAZING, she took note of the items we consumed food and drink wise and made sure we were well-stocked! she also put our daughters' stuffed animals in cute designs on their beds). Adrian at the preferred club was a great bartender, and Billy Joel, a concierge, was super helpful. For preferred club, I would do it again but I don't think it is necessary to enjoy the trip. We enjoyed the breaks at the lounge, the snacks provided, and the convenience of towel service. Tips: -Though our room had extension cords and a multi-plug extension, apparently not all do, so bring your own just in case. -bring an insulated metal cup to keep drinks cold and a metal straw (paper ones disintegrate) -pool floaties are fun, bring your own, cheap on amazon but not at the resort shop -if you plan to tip, bring 1s and 5s if using american dollars (they don't care what currency you use) -bring a firestick to access streaming services -bring lots of sunscreen, it is expensive to buy down there -bring bug spray - we got lots of bites! -download the AMR app to see what restaurants are open for which meal as well as planned activities for the day -Tropical Treasures is a business that is a 15 minute walk down the beach if you go left, just past several hotels. It offers cheap but good massages on the beach and a souvenir shop that is much cheaper than the hotel shop I hope we get to go back again, it was such an amazing time!…
The hotel is amazing, rooms outdated so it shouldn't be 5stars, 3.5 is generous here. Saying this, everything outside is perfect, flamingos, parrot, turtle, views, pool and the ocean. The entertainment team is the best one we seen in years, especially Minnie and Willis - they are outdoing themselves on every single occassion! Food is really tasty and 90% fresh in the buffet. ❤️ other downside is all of the prices - cleary ripping off people on every occassion (200$ for couple massage, 25$ for two hair bands)
Visited Dreams Punta Cana from 1/19-1/23. The staff and amenities went above and beyond my expectations. From checkin to checkout everything is done with great professionalism and courtesy. The spa and entertainment team were top tier! I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to unwind and have no worries throughout their vacation. Will definitely visit them again.
Really enjoyed the morning sessions on the court, Leonel is a fantastic coach and even played some tennis games with our son who’s 2 and a half. Really made the whole family welcome. Would highly recommend and definitely go again.
