The staff at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful and walking distance to Clarise Beach. The room was very clean with a balcony and ocean view. Dinner at the Hotel restaurant was very tasteful. I will book this hotel again.

Just back from a weeks stay at the Hilton, booked through and travelled with British Airways, I was taking my daughter for a pre-wedding treat and she choose the hotel which would not have been my first choice. Stayed in a bay view sixth floor room with balcony. First impressions were not great after arriving after a long flight and having been up since silly o’clock I was kept awake most of the night with a noisy party on our floor, at 5am I made a complaint to the front desk and also pleaded with the party goers for a break. After making my point the hotel assured me the party were vacating that day and that they did not want to move me only to find it worse elsewhere. Having a sticky start made me reflect that the choice was wrong, however the hotel redeemed itself throughout the week with great if slightly expensive food, although the Lighthouse restaurant only opened once for dinner during our stay which was disappointing as the food excellent there. Bar meals for lunch were perfect again expensive but the staff in that area were very accommodating and friendly. The coffee shop at the hotel serves mean frapacchino’s we were warned they would be addictive and they were. We did not eat in the fine dining although the bar served excellent ribs and a lovely tuna steak perfectly cooked. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the room large and airy. The gym could do with some air con. Fresh and cooled water is available at the beach bar and you can top up your water bottles a great idea for keeping costs down and more importantly the environment given your position. The beaches are great and well kept although very windy being at the tip of the island and on the bend of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic. We took the breakfast package and although $48 plus VAT and 10% service charge (added to everything) was worth doing as hot and cold food all very good. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our break, a walk to Bridgetown along the beach front is recommended and we had race horses exercising on the next beach in the bay every morning at 6am well worth a visit if you are up early enough. I would recommend this hotel with the caveat that food and drink do appear to be expensive although that seems the norm in Barbados.

We stayed for 6 days at this hotel. Front desk was very friendly, a very good first impression to Barbados. The room had the very aura of cleanliness, and every day the staff made up the room very nicely, it even smelled fresh. The view was very good, we could see the hotel's beach very clearly. Very nice room. The pool area was very nice, as was the beach. The main problem with this hotel was price, in two aspects. The hotel itself was extremely expensive, and while it was a very good hotel experience, it didn't blow us away as the price did. The food and drink was also very expensive in and around the hotel, and we had to walk 45 minutes in the heat for even the nearest grocery store in Bridgetown for sustenance. The hotel itself was very nice, but just too expensive for our family.

We stayed a week at this hotel. The room and hotel overall were decent and comfortable. All of the staff that we interacted with were friendly and helpful (with one exception which we chalked up to having a bad day). The room itself was a decent size with a nice view of the beach. It is a nice touch that they send you an email to check in online ahead of arrival, and select your room in advance.

The location of the hotel is near enough to Bridgetown that you can walk it (we did) but if the heat is too much you can take a taxi for a reasonable amount. However, since it is not located in either Brigetown or St. Lawrence / Oistins, you need to take a taxi there if you are planning to eat in one of the restaurants in any of those locations. That will add a considerable amount on to the food bill for your stay.

Restaurants in the hotel are fairly pricey (probably because it is a captive market) and the food often did not measure up to that expense. Breakfast buffet is plain and limited. There was an added option of an omelet bar on Sunday which almost doubled the cost. Unfortunately the line up was so lengthy that we did not get a chance to try one. Lunch by the pool was more reasonable priced and the food and service were good. Dinner in the Grill restaurant was ok, but it seemed that communication between the staff was less than stellar.

All things considered, the stay was pleasant.

While we had booked an Ocean View room which according to the Hilton website was supposed to include a bathtub and shower, we ended up being given a room at the far end of the building that looked at trees and had no bathtub. When we asked to switch to a different room, we were told that there were no other rooms available as the hotel was full. We got switched to the proper room the next day, but the Front Desk refused to discount the first night even though the room didn’t match the booked room description. They instead just repeatedly just told me that the first room was the same room type as the second. While we were there for a week, we didn’t manage to get chairs with an umbrella on the beach even once as there were very few chairs available compared to the number of rooms that the hotel has. The air conditioning was loud and the beds were too firm. While we had three people with a King bed and rollaway, housekeeping kept only leaving two towels.

I booked the Hilton based on a friends recommendation, I have to admit I was nervous after trawling through the many negative reviews on trip advisor. We arrived at the hotel after a long trip in the evening & although our room wasn’t ready we were greeted with friendly staff and offered complimentary evening meal for the short inconvenience.
We had booked a corner quad premium room & breakfast. The room was a fantastic size with plenty of room for a family of 4, clean and modern, we had a great view over pebbles beach and could see the horses swim each morning. House keeping came everyday without fail & did a great job.
Breakfast was a buffet in the lighthouse restaurant, great choice and not too busy.
The Hilton is a very large hotel for Barbados, which in times of Covid was great and spacious in the restaurant, pool area & beach.
While we were there we visited a number of other hotels out of curiosity to see what your money really gets you, and have happily concluded the Hilton is fantastic value compared to other hotels of a similar rating, great location & rooms were beyond superior to other locations. The beach area is also great for families, deep and spacious, never feels crowded.
The hotel also has a coffee shop on site which has a great choice of light bites / snacks / drinks, not sure if the exact opening times but was always open early mornings and late into the night. Taxis also available on site at a moments notice.
As the hotel is large there are some dated areas but certainly no more than other hotels; on the whole I have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised with the Hilton.
Great staff, good amenities & tourist spots on the doorstep.
Great all round choice - don’t be put of by the negative reviews, I would say the Hilton’s website is a fair reflection rather than some of the traveller photos on this page I have seen.
I will be sure to return to the Hilton in the future.

We spent 2 nights at the Hilton whilst we were quarantining on our arrival into Barbados. As we were all doubled vaccinated we were allowed to use all the hotels facilities including the 2 swimming pools but weren't allowed to use the gym nor were we allowed to go onto the beach. The hotel has 2 separate towers, the Fort & the Lighthouse both about 6 or 7 floors tall with a landing between them on each floor. We had booked 7 rooms and although I had sent the hotel a rooming list when it came to check in rooms had been incorrectly allocated which not only caused a problem but also took a considerable time to sort out. Luckily this was the only problem throughout our stay. What made the hotel as far as we were concerned were the swimming pools. Towels are collected from a small hut at the entrance to the pool area so you didn't have to use the towels in the room. The top pool was an infinity pool whilst the much larger one was below it and meandered across the pool area with a bridge near one end to the hot tub. Although the pools weren't deep (4 ft max) they were ideal for the younger ones in the party The pool bar was excellent with staff regularly coming around to check if we wanted anything. We thought the prices were reasonable. The beach area is directly next to the hotel and it was frustrating not to be able to go there as it looked lovely with loads of loungers & parasols already in place. Just past the pools is Needham's Point which was an old fort and there is a path around the point with views across to Bridgetown and to the remains of the fort. The rooms were large & very comfortable & each room had its own balcony with a couple of chairs & a table,. There was a small mini bar. The wifi was excellent. The en suite bathroom was more than adequate with a large walk in shower & a single sink. There were plenty of toiletries & shampoos. The buffet breakfast was very good with the usual omelette station with eggs cooked to order and additional hot dishes, bacon, sausages, french toast etc in a different area. In addition in the lobby area there was a small convenience store selling soft drinks, coffees, ice cream & nibbles. The staff whether by the pool, at breakfast or just around the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay - the hotel is ideal for families who just want to chill and relax whilst the children enjoy the pool.

Recent 3 night stay at the Hilton property in Barbados was very nice. First thing travelers should know is this hotel is not right in the main city. Its about a 30 minute walk or 10 minute drive into Bridgetown and there is not many shops or restaurants right near the hotel. The building is not new but well maintained and the property is nicely laid out with a large 2 shore beach right in front. The room we had was large, bright, very clean and well appointed with a safe and mini fridge. Service was prompt and friendly. The hotel has 3 restaurants of their own that include a buffet, beach house grill and formal dinning area. Food and drinks are quite expensive so you need to know that ahead of time not to experience sticker shock.
There are banquet facilities on site along with a fitness room and spa. All & all, we really enjoyed our stay, I would go back and would also recommend.

We stayed here for a week in Nov during covid. Hotel is very covid safe, with regularly cleaning and facilities are well spilt between those quarantining pending negative tests, and guests who are out of quarantine and covid free. We were greeted by Alana one of the hotel desk staff who was so lovely I cannot say how much she contributed to our positive experience at this hotel she is such a value to the Hilton Barbados team ! Great customer service with a smile throughout our stay she instantly made us feel at home and that we had made the right choice to stay at this hotel. Staff were always friendly ready to offer assistance were needed. The private beach attached to the hotel is a nice touch with the sun loungers and was really nice for some peace and quiet. The hotel is in between two beaches within walking distance so great for exploring and taking a walk outside the hotel. Breakfast had some good options with slight variations each day which kept things interesting. Reduced menu for lunch and dinner but understandable due to the current pandemic climate. Thanks again Hilton we will be back again in the future!

Firstly thanks to Carisia for the gifts for our wedding anniversary.
It's a Hilton Hotel, it's an old hotel, but it sits on a beautiful beach, and is relaxing.
The good
Rooms are spacious, bathrooms are large/ well appointed. Bed linen, beds, towels, etc are high quality
Views from the rooms are spectacular, and the balconies are spacious and private
The pools are superb
There are two beaches- the sunloungers are comfy with mattresses and plentiful -lots of space on the beach to have your own area
There very few hawkers, so you can relax in peace and if you want to swim then it's safe to leave your possessions
The beach bar is great, happy hour is brilliant (go easy!) and overall prices are not bad - food at the beach bar is excellent
Breakfast was fine =lots of choice and a good omelette station
Staff are generally fantastic and not in your face, so you can just do your own thing
You are $10 in a taxi from Bridgetown St Lawrence Gap etc with loads of bars/restaurants, there are a number of snack bars within walking distance (Cuz's fish, and the yacht club)
There is a bus stop at the end of the road which takes you up the west coast or down the south coast, and it's cheap
The bad
Nothing .. if you need something politely ask and you will get the service you require. If you are someone who likes all inclusive then this is not a hotel for you, but the advantage of not being all inclusive is you can try the fabulous local restaurants.
I have no hesitation in returning
