Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Playa Linda Beach Resort is celebrated for its central location, which offers guests the convenience of nearby shopping, dining, and beach access, as noted by numerous guests. While the service generally receives accolades for being attentive and friendly, there have been rare mentions of neglect. Accommodations are described as clean and spacious with impressive views, though some guests have experienced issues with temperature control and outdated amenities.
The resort's cleanliness is widely recognized; however, a handful of visitors have had less satisfactory encounters with housekeeping. Opinions on value vary, with some guests finding the resort cost-effective, while others point out hidden fees. Amenities like the beach and pools are highlights, despite occasional calls for service enhancements.

Detailed Reviews
Beachfront is beautiful, towels supplied. Jessie logged you into your "Chickee" (palapa) happily every day. I refused to get up at 5 to get front row. (Log in begins at 6) 2nd or 3rd row was fine. Beach service for food and drinks from 2 locations, the servers walk the beach! . Float rentals next door, we brought our own. Plenty of beach activities nearby. Smoothie hut with Acai bowls and other bowls on property.. Very reasonable price. Shops and restaurants surround you. Studio unit has tiny cook space, no dishwasher but it's doable-dish soap and sponge supplied. 1bedroom unit has full size kitchen with dishwasher. Free coffee at beach 2x a day they supply sugar, Splenda and powdered coffee creamer. . Staff wore masks. Hand sanitizer all around. Recommend you pack a reusable coffee cup, float, sunscreen.
Wifi is good, worked well on the beach. My kids upgraded to premium wifi,)25 for the week for 4 devices. I didn't need premium, IDK if it was worth the money for my kids to upgrade. Daughter was remote learning, no issues until the school shut down her Aruba IP address, I guess they thought it was a hacker. We contacted the school head of technology and we used "what's my IP address" to supply the school with the IP address and she was brought back online.
Covid PCR tests not back for all of us prior to traveling to Aruba -we had negative antigen rapid tests which are not acceptable-so 3 of us tested at Aruba airport and quarantined in our rooms. That was fine, we were exhausted from travel. Our results were in by 1am .(we had tested at 3:30pm). I'd go back, but keep an eye on their numbers. Facebook group "All things Aruba" lists daily updates on the Covid numbers as well as restrictions in place by their government.

My girlfriend and I had an exceptional stay at Playa Linda. In short, it was a perfect trip and we will be coming back. The only hiccup in our trip was check-in where we received a ground-level room which is kind of in a basement and has a view of a retaining wall. This is not what we hoped for. However, we requested a higher room and were accommodated after a little back and forth with the front desk. Once we settled in it was exactly what we were looking for with an ocean view. The beach was pristine but if you really want clear water, walk to the left if you're facing the beach for about 15 minutes to the end of the strip. There, between two Jettis, the water was perfectly clear. If you want a Tiki hut (Chikee) you need to be down on the beach around 7 AM to secure one and it will be near the back. at 6:00 AM you can start the reservation process. The food nearby was very good including Dushi bagel and Carlitos. The wings at Carlitos (buffalo) might be the best I have ever had. Don't miss out on them! We had a couple good excursion days (Kini Kini ATV tour is a MUST) and a Arunsun catamaran was good as well. If you're looking for a relatively quiet resort with an exceptional beach and great service this is a great choice. I have to give a shout-out to Diego, our bellman who was very friendly and helpful. Diego's service is a great example of the hospitality you look for when you are relaxing on vacation. Thanks, Diego!

We have been staying at Playa Linda for the past few years, we love every second of it, the convenience of walking out the front door and being close to restaurants, casinos, shopping, and so much more, and we go out our back door to the most beautiful beach, Azzuro, Calitos, and so many other places. Our 1 bedroom timeshare is very well maintained this year we had new furniture, beautiful views of the ocean and pool area. The staff at Playa Linda are amazing especially, Jessie!!! He is the most positive, helpful, caring person and we love our conversations with him. If you meet him ask about the Aloe when you have a sunburn, he will take great care of you....

I booked my 4 nights at the Playa Linda with points through American Airlines Advantage Rewards. Do ask when you check in if your room will be changed at all. If not, you may be in for a surprise. Mine was changed on Sunday when new guests arrived for their timesharing week. The two rooms which I had both had beautiful pools and full ocean views. Playa Linda also has an Adult Pool which was added in the past few years. It made a big difference to me. The main pool is a beautiful one with a waterfall. What I loved was the large enclosed balcony in my room which I was able to sit out n without being hot. It was like a real room and even had a rack to dry towels or bathing suits. The reason to stay at Playa Linda versus another resort would be the value and location. It is right next door to the Hyatt Regency on one side and the Holiday Inn on the other.
The C phase rooms (third built) with even numbers face the inside of the resort with a pool view and the odd numbers face the outside. The Holiday Inn is on this side and it can be noisy from the bar-restaurant directly outside. If room is in the B phase (second built), all of the rooms face the pool and ocean and the entrance is located on the front side of the resort. The A phase (first built)) with odd numbers face the inside of the resort (pool view) and the even numbers face the outside. All of the studios rooms were in this building. The 1 BR suite can feel a little crowded with all of the furniture, but it was a very nice room. The studios have much smaller kitchens and your balcony will be smaller as well. The Lanai suites have ground floor entrances on the parking level garage level without any views.
If you plan to eat at the restaurant at Playa Linda, book it as soon as you arrive or in advance if you can because it does fill up quickly and you may be asked to wait until after 8:30-9:00pm. There are many restaurants along the beach and in the Palm Beach area in walking distance, so you will not have a problem. Right outside the door is Le Petite, a nice place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The Pelican Watersports Center is located right outside on the beach in front of Playa Linda. There seemed to be a lot of huts on the beach (more than other resorts) and Palm Beach did not have as many rocks or waves as the beach in the low rise section of hotels. I stayed in both. There was a power-outage in Aruba on July 3rd and I was lucky to be at a resort at that time with a generator that kicked in immediately. Playa Linda guests were without lights and power for awhile. Almost all of the other resorts in this area are high rise which makes Playa Linda different from the others. I enjoyed this timeshare resort and hope to return. Thanks to the bellmen for helping me, Junior and Diego.

This is a great resort that offers spacious rooms with spectacular views situated on one of the best beaches in the world. The location of the Playa LInda is close to all the "action" and other resorts while offering a more "homey" feel as your rooms are much more comfortable than a typical hotel room. All of the rooms have kitchen facilities and sitting areas and the 1 and 2 bedrooms feel like actual condos!
One of the best things about the Playa Linda are the great employees that you see year after year - they are all so friendly and genuinely love the place where they work and treat guests as if they were visiting their home. A few special call outs are Junior Lawrence - one of the best Bellmen on the island who can help you when you arrive and depart. Also worth mentioning is Kurt, one of the beach attendents, who is as friendly and happy a guy you will ever meet!
I almost hate posting this reveiw because I am afraid the Playa Linda will get too popular one day but until then enjoy this hidden gem!

We stayed here in August and again in December. We loved it in August but this time around we decided it wasn’t the place for us in the future. It is a great location but being a timeshare there are many large groups of guests traveling together. Lots of loud New Yorkers in August and again in December. It just wasn’t relaxing to sit on the beach. You also have to get up at 530 in the morning to get a nice spot on the beach and the guests from the large groups tended to save spots for others in their party. .They also charge 50 cents if you’d like a glass of ice water for the beach or pool whereas at other resorts there are cups and water readily available. . We had a 530 flight and there were no shower facilities open so we lost what I thought would be our last beach day. We stayed at the Hyatt twice as well and will be returning there be t time.

At least 35 visits in 28 years on my beloved island, half of those stays at Playa Linda Beach Resort Aruba, it hurts to see how the place is going down.
Visible by the increasingly dirty beach which until a few years ago was one of the cleanest esp. in relation to how busy it is and was.
2 cockroaches on the balkony of 2 bedroom unit 647 a week ago + many complaints of my guests in recent weeks are only part of it.
Playa Linda has a lot of self made rules established. 4 people in a studio and you can have 4 beach towels only, on Sudays during transfer you cannot change towels, if someone in your group changed a few towels during limited opening hours, you cannot change any others on the same room. On both occasions the woman at the towel hut just tried to keep 3 used towels without compensation, which costs 75$ if I let her and caused long discussions with her and her supervisor.
Only one key card per guest is allowed (why?) if you forget to move it from the beach bag to your wallet and back again, you need to go for new keys for everybody in your room. Instead the keys just stoped opening doors while on of my guests needed to take her medication on time.
Every floor has a room for laundry, on the studio side morst of them have either washer or dryer only, but not both, one third of those don t work at all, if you put a 2$ token in one of them and didn t bring extra, go back to reception and buy more.
All those rules are clearly anti good service.
Some receptionists seemingly have problems understanding English anyway, I could give a series of examples, with 95% American & Canadian guests this feels unreal.
A relaxed vacation looks different in the 500 - 1200$ price range per day.

+1
This beach resort has an unbeatable location on Palm Beach. In the middle of everything, restaurants, bars, markets, shops. It has a very attentive, helpful and friendly staff, who do everything possible to make you feel comfortable. Aruba is known as the Happy Island for a reason. I was in a one bedroom room and I can say that I was totally pleased with it. Everything in very good condition, furniture, kitchen utensils, cleanliness. The room is very well equipped to be able to prepare your own dinner in it. The resort is well cared for and the beautiful landscaping is well maintained. There are several places on the beach where you can grab something to eat during the day. There is also a restaurant (Azzurro) with a beautiful view of the beach and the Caribbean Sea where you can enjoy a wonderful sunset while enjoying an excellent dinner. The food and the service in it is excellent. The beach is beautiful, fine white sand, a calm sea with almost no waves and crystal clear water. Lots of palapas (chickies) are available on the beach for Playa Linda guests. Of course the first rows are occupied very early in the morning, but there are always chickies available either in the last rows closest to the restaurants or bars or farthest from the entrance to the hotel or the pool. But you will always be on the beach sands and with a view of the sea. There is a sidewalk that runs the length of the beach connecting all the hotels along the beach. You can walk along it both day and night in complete safety. In addition, you can walk along the seashore at night with complete tranquility. There are several restaurants that set up their tables on the sand at sunset, which have very good food. Enjoying the sunset from there is a must do, but keep in mind that reservations are required especially for sunset time as everyone wants to be there at that time. Next to the hotel entrance there is a small market where you can buy many things to eat and drink. The hotel has two swimming pools, one for families and one for adults only. The following people made my stay at Playa Linda totally satisfactory: Aida at the front desk, Jesse, the guy who assigns the chickies, and Champion, who brings the chairs on the beach, as well as the woman who runs the concierge office, whose name I don't remember and who kindly helped me with the problems caused by the cancellation of my arrival flight. Also the bellmen Junior Lawrence and Diego. To all of them thank you very much!

We chose to go to Aruba because of how they handle COVID. You need to be approved via an app and have a negative PCR test. They check your PCR test with a fine tooth comb at the airport because there are some who always try to game the system and have a fake PCR test. Once you pass the airport COVID security you are given a card which says that you are approved. When we got to Playa Linda, they not only check the card but they also check your PCR test. This is our first time in Aruba and loved staying at Playa Linda. Lots of close by Kiosk places to eat. Staff wear masks, the place is constantly being cleaned. Room was wonderful We had a first floor studio looking at the Pool so we never needed to get in an elevator. We enjoyed the choice of cooking in our room or eating out. It made me sad that so much around the area is closed. The only negative of the property is the beach situation. You need to get up early to save your "Chickee" or beach umbrella. It is an unnecessary competition. People smoke on the beach and drop their butts in the sand. When I got out to the beach to pick my spot, I had to clean the sand of disgusting cigarette butts. There are signs everywhere about wearing a mask, there needs to be signs about proper disposal of cigarette butts.

Resort property was alot nicer than pictures we saw on their website and was pleantly surprised at arrival. Check in was quick being a Sunday and were in our room quickly. We had a one bedroom condo with small kitchen which was very clean and on the side of the building to the leftside of the propert but close to the beach.
I have to admit all employees at this resort were very friendly and accomadating and alway looking to help out. Pool area was also very nice and had a restaurant and bar for drinks.
The drinks served throughout the resort are through another outside company and were very watered down and expensive. Food served at restaurants was sub par and also very expensive and tasteless but no fault of the resort Playa LInda.
The biggest downfall of this resort is as you will notice your first nights sleep all these doors closing loudly starting around 3:30 AM. These are the Timeshare owners getting up to sit at their perspective beach Palpas before someone else gets to them earlier.
Their is a whole early morning gathering of these timeshare regulars socializing and playing lighted BOCCE Balls in the early morning hours. It sure is interesting.
Then come 6 AM the Beach attendant comes around and records your spot assinged to you for the day which at this point the beach this out and they go back to their rooms for breakfast. This is when other vacationers come down and try to find spots close to the beach sometimes with luck and sometimes without.
The pool area has the same experience going also minus the lighted BOCCE BALLS.
The other downfall and again it is not the Paya Linda's issue is the constant bragging of how long the timeshares owners have been coming to this resort and how they stay sometimes weeks or months. Yes weeks or monnths !
Their is also chest beating as the owners are all board members and they consider this resort their own. The constant I own this many weeks and this other owner has more. All this getts old very quick and makes for a very long stay.
Again the true downfall to this resort is the beach early morning palpa grab and a lot of the timeshare owners being regulars are an qiute a bit nasty towards other guest.
Overall we personally would avoid this property because of the timesaher owners monopoly of this stay.

I go down in the mornings for the free coffee on the beach.
Yes, though you have to reserve with the front desk and leave a deposit the last time I used them.
