Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed there with my partner.
Has everything you need for a pleasant night. Great space, LED, kitchen with all the extras. The bed is comfortable. The shower was average, was a little weak.
Plenty of space to park and was a 7 min walk from the Taven.

Two girl friends and I stayed overnight at Tudor Oaks Motel when we attended a concert at the Mangawhai Tavern. 2 bedroom unit with 1 double and 2 single beds. Lovely clean unit with the best towels I've ever had in a local motel. Highly recommend for a short stay.

Travelling north of the capital to fill in for one night, this motel was convenient, comfortable and clean. We scored the family unit which is in the corner of the building and closest to a busy main road intersection. Even though there were venetian blinds and dark curtains, vehicle lights and traffic noise (the next morning) were a little bit of an issue. We had a leisurely walk to the local historic Mangawhai Tavern for dinner and a nice cold ale, which was suggested.

Andrew and Holly have done a superb job of refurbishing this motel. While this was only a one night stay, we managed to enjoy most of what the property offered.

Clean, tidy and in a great location. I would be back here in a flash if we needed to stay in the township (normally out at the heads).

The little touches were the key i.e. body wash in the showers rather than the packet soaps. Thanks, guys!

Hint: They are pet-friendly (limited spaces though). As there are only a few rooms, book early!

I stayed in the small room attached to the garage and was very comfortable. It was very private and quiet. The owners were very helpful with information. I loved the area--there's good restaurants and beautiful beaches.

A clean comfortable little stay had everything and more than we needed. Beautiful comfortable bed, clean kitchen, perfect for a couple to stay when either passing through or having a look around. A lovely young enthusiastic couple who are more than willing to help you out. Great price too.

Room was clean, modern and comfortable.

Stayed one night in their "Studio" which was a converted garage. Don't mind the garage bit but it smelt strongly of cigarette smoke when I went in. Mentioned to the Manager and he just said that a tradesman had stayed the night before and that would have been the smell. No comments like "can I get some spray or something". I got antiseptic spray and wipes from the local4 square and it was a little better. The bathroom had no sink so you had to wash your hands in the kitchen sink. Behind a rubbish tidy in the toilet had not been cleaned for sometime - dead insects, cobwebs. This was the only accommodation that I could get but very disappointed.
As you can see by my previous reviews I am normally very positive.

It was getting late and options were running out when we found Tudor Oaks by the roadside in a tiny town...friendly daughter of owners and dog checked us into drive up room which was huge but sparse although everything there that was needed....search for a restaurant at maybe 8pm was not going well when we found loud chinese restaurant on a small stripmall on the highway north about a half mile or less from Tudor...only after marginal noisy meal did we discover very nice but abyssmally signed upscale restaurant at other end...nearer motel of the same stripmall...very adequate one nighter.

A nice place to overnight on the way through. The bar and restaurant, " The Smashed Pipi" is right across the road and cooks a great pizza. I did notice the room we in was not the quietest as the hosts accommodation appears to be above the units and there was the odd thump or bang from above.
Definitely try the pizza from the Smashed Pipi.

Room Tip: The only tip I can give is not about the room, but the pizza at the Smashed Pipi across the road.
