Detailed Reviews
I stayed in this hotel because it was the closest hotel to the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, where my organization is an exhibitor in an expo there. it was very new and was still in its promotion period. Even so, promotion price of hotels in the Island of Bali are not really fall into the cheap category. You can stay in a good hotel everywhere else in Indonesia using the price you paid for the "promotion hotel price" in Bali.
As I mentioned in the title, this hotel needs a lot of polishing to defend the Amaris brand. I know, it's still new, you can even smell the new paint. But at least they can put a senior person overseeing all those young ones at the reception desk. I can see their confusion through their eyes and body language, not to mention that the reception area was located in an open area without air conditioner, making them sweat even more. I feel sorry for them, having to familiarize themselves with all the procedures and at the same time face impatient customers. I know that you can teach a person swimming by just throwing them into the pool, but Amaris has a lot stake on the table to let it be ruined by the not so professional senior staff. Ha..
The rooms are nice, as it is new. It surprised me though, that they are so minimalist compared to the other Amaris hotels I've stayed in. All in all, Amaris Nusa Dua seemed to be designed with a dormitory in mind, with minimum paraphernalia and all rooms open to the humid air of the Nusa Dua peninsula. Perhaps this is how a Balinese architecture supposed to look like, I can never know. However it is, the room can surely use a bigger window...
Another thing that I have to mention about the room arrangement is that the management seemed to keen to use all space available and squeeze the profit out of it, at the price of the guest comfort. That's what happened to my friend that got a room right beside the kitchen with has no insulation whatsoever, enabling him to hear the cacophony of a busy kitchen up to 2 AM! My poor friend woke up early and move to other hotel in a haste, without even telling me who supposed to share a transportation with him.
The staffs, on the other hand, are enthusiastic in their services. I don't have any complain to them, very helpful even when I asked them if I can borrow iron and the ironing table (which is not standard in Indonesian hotels regardless of their affiliation), they provided it without delay. When I was finished ironing and have to run to the expo, I told the receptionist that they can take the iron as I was done using it. They took the iron alright, but not the ironing table.. was it because I forgot to mention that they can also take it? .. hehehe.. so naive.. But I like it, it showed their honesty.
The food. Excuse me for mentioning that I hate the food. Compared to their Amaris hotel cousins in Yogyakarta who also serve simple but tasty food for breakfast, theirs were like umm... can't really tell.. it's not polite.. I hope this just because they are new..
The bathroom is standard, toiletries were complete, but still, I hate the liquid soap, so I as always, bring my own soap bar.
This hotel is suitable only for those who are traveling for business and does not need comfort too much, over night or two night stays are OK, more than that you have to have something else for compensation. Do not bring your family to this kind of hotel. The security is good, but just for the sake of your happiness during your vacation, your family will complain all the time to the flight home if you put them in this hotel..

If you want to avoid one of the beachfront mega-hotels in Nusa Dua (a question we shall return to) then this is a good option. A couple of hundred yards outside the manicured perfection of the Nusa Dua complex, down a fairly busy side street, the hotel has good, basic comfortable rooms, with free WiFi and hot/cold water dispensers on each floor. The included buffet breakfast is excellent by budget hotel standards (cereal/toast/omelettes for Western tastes, rice porridge, fried rice, fried noodles, vegetable and some meat course, for Asian) - a good option if you want to eat heartily to skip or have a light lunch. Staff were friendly and helpful in arranging taxis and responding to questions. Net, a well run, budget hotel.
To me the bigger question is why you would want to stay in Nusa Dua if you weren't going to stay on one of the beachfront megahotels. The whole place has been built around them - along with the carefully controlled 'Bali Collection' shopping centre and 'The Bay' restaurant complex - complete with allocated 'rip off' taxi drivers.
To my mind, Seminyak, with its jumble of shops, restaurants and bars - and budget hotels - is a better option for a holiday. If you are attending a Convention nearby however, then the Amaris is a good alternative to stratospheric prices at the beachfront hotels.

We spent a night here as we landed late and wanted something close to the airport to spend the night. This is a budget hotel, probably the cheapest in the vicinity and offers much more than what you can expect at its price. We had 3 rooms for a night including breakfast for under $50 and had a very pleasing stay. The rooms are basic but fine. Everything placed in the room works. AC was good, wifi was great, the breakfast buffet was decent. Location is great, the staff is courteous and polite. Apart from drinking water bottles in each room, They have water dispensers on each floor to fill drinking water - something that I’ve not seen in any other hotel in Bali.

We have stayed at the Amaris 3 different times over our 3month holiday, and will probably be back again before we leave to go back to England. You do need a motorbike to get to the beach and main shopping areas, but there are many warungs and small local shops all along the road that the hotel is on. The staff are wonderful, very helpful, eager to please. The breakfast is probably the best we have had, so much choice eggs to order and you can do your own toast (if like us warm bread is not your idea of toast as so many of the breakfasts we have sampled along the way, this is a good thing to be able to do yourself!)Nusa Dua itself is just many many many huge five star resorts along the front of the beach, and the Amaris is a great affordable alternative. Yes its 3 min drive, don't walk its too far and too hot, but if your a surfer, and want good facilities for a good price this is it. There is a great cheap massage place out the front and to the right, five min walk on the left. Nusa Dua pizza and the Indian next door to that do home delivery, the hotel will provide plates etc for you, and there are many small warungs along the road too. Definatley recommend staying here.

I just checked my employee into this hotel, since we were staying nearby. I originally made the booking for 5 nights via booking.com from 12/23-12/25. I decided to come to Bali earlier so made another last minute 2nd reservation on 12/21-12/23. Per booking.com policy there are no cancellations and that the hotel would charge my card directly upon check-in. When I checked in on 12/21 they didn't have my reservation because the booking was made too last minute after their 6pm cutoff. However they were able to accommodate me just fine. I prepaid the 2 nights from 12/21-12/23 and it worked out okay.
On 12/23, I told them I needed to change my reservations for 2 nights only and I needed to check out on 12/25 instead of 12/28. The front desk said the change was fine and that I would only be charged 2 nights, and that I could check out after 2 nights on 12/25. The hotel front desk proceeded to charge my credit card for 2 nights only and said I can check out on 12/25.
On 12/25, my employee tried to book a taxi to depart the hotel, however they told them that they had to pay for the remaining 3 nights and that they could not leave until paying. I came to the hotel to settle the dispute. As my employee came to the taxi the security followed her closely and initially tried stopping them from putting the luggage in the taxi. Then the front desk clerk came out and told me I had to pay the other 3 nights. I proceeded to explain to them that the evening front desk clerk confirmed that I could change to 2 nights and that is why he only charged me 2 nights. The hotel checked their hand written front desk log and said there is no record of the change. They then picked up the phone and said they would call their friend working the front desk that night on 12/23 at 8pm. The person on the phone said no there was no change. They pulled out the booking.com reservation and it did say no cancellations. However all payment transactions are handled through the hotel directly and since the front desk was okay with the change that evening I thought it would all be ok. The security guards remained blocking the walkway to the taxi so as not to let me walk away - essentially holding us captive. INSANE!!! I kept saying they cannot try to make me pay 3 nights that I did not stay and after their front desk made the change 2 nights earlier. I had never paid for the remaining 3 nights and they never charged me up front for this. After much argument and back and forth, and 45 minutes later the manager finally comes out and says I can leave. We got out of here as fast as we could. Thank goodness the taxi driver waited the whole time. WARNING - DO NOT STAY HERE. SECURITY GUARDS WILL HOLD YOU CAPTIVE IF YOU HAVE ANY DISPUTES WITH THE FRONT DESK. DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM. IF YOU ARE STAYING AT ANY LOCALLY OWNED HOTEL ANYWHERE IN BALI THEN TRANSACT WITH THE HOTEL FRONT DESK DIRECTLY NOT BOOKING.COM.

I had to join a business conference in BICC Nusa Dua, Bali, for two days. First of all, I was afraid that I can't find a cheap hotel to stay in (and of course must has an international standart). Amaris in Pratama street, Nusa Dua Bali, gives what I wanted. The room is clean, I got my comfortable bed. Not noisy, even though I was in the second floor and my room faced directly to the road. Bathroom also clean & nice, I got my liquid soap, soap, tooth brush, tooth paste, and towels! oh, but I can't find a shower cap :p
Foods are good. Excellent! They offered me omelet too.
If you have to meet people in BICC, just go by taxi and it takes less than 10 minutes to go there. The taxi will charge you with their minimum payment.
So, in the end of my review, I would recommended you to stay in Amaris Pratama if you have minimum budget with an international standart hotel.

This hotel is located at the first part of Jalan Pratama in Nusa Dua Bali. It is still very new and not all the taxi driver know the location. Jalan Pratama is very long and this is the main road bring you to Benoa. You need to enter Jalan Pratama from Jalan Raya Nusa Dua in order to reach this hotel. The hotel is clean and in minimalist style. The room rate is affordable in the expensive location. This hotel is not located in the exclusive complex of Nusa Dua where all the five stars hotels are located. The hotel is just outside the Nusa Dua complex but still considered at Nusa Dua area. The lobby is an opened air lobby, which was very common in Bali. No air conditioner but you won't feel hot. A simple reception desk with very nice staffs. The hotel has free wifi in the whole area. Free shuttle to Hardy's Mall was available hourly. No sofa in lobby area, the only area to sit is at breakfast lounge which have direct access to a small swimming pool. The room is small and neat, no coffee and tea making facilities except two medium size drinking water which were compliment. Every floor has three unit of water dispenser which has hot and cold water. Bathroom amenities was nothing. Liquid soap and shampoo in dispenser. Safety box was provided inside the room, a medium size flat screen TV and amazing, the TV has more than twenty channels. The bed is soft, and every room has a small terrace just for standing, the size is so small that even can not put on a chair. Most of the rooms are facing the simple pool. Breakfast was average and the taste is just average. The choice of food is limited too. Overall this is an average hotel with good price in the expensive area of Nusa Dua.

Pick the hotel due to location to an event, and the price for only 1 night sleep. Reviews showing contradictory scores, so just try our luck
But I got the worse side as the room smells bad like those damp clothes, seems that they mopped it with dirty smelly fabric that the floor is a bit sticky. Bathroom is standard, clean but with water stains up to the door. Beddings clean but towels is already thin and bit greyish
Breakfast that got good reviews from others also disappointing, plus point is the egg station but the omelette is very small, chicken and soup is okay. But no hot water to make your own coffee.
And the staff in breakfast room is not that friendly either
Overall they really need to improve
